New host for 'The View'?

Whoopi Goldberg? Kathy Griffin? Ricki Lake? ROSEANNE? Who should replace Rosie O'Donnell as the host of "The View"?

I'm a Kathy Griffin fan myself, and thought she was quick-witted and irreverent on her recent guest appearance, but I don't watch "The View" nearly enough to weigh in much more than that. "View" watchers, here's your chance: Who would be your pick, and why?

I do regularly catch the View and honestly I never liked Rosie as a member of the "team". When Meredeth was leaving, there was talk of Kirstie Alley replacing her (?) and I feel she'd be a great asset to the show. I doubt there would be the perpetual infighting and self-righteous rants but personally I prefer the show without them. Just my View...

Kathy Griffin!!!! She is quick-witted enough to make it interesting, but keep things light. Sherri Shepherd should be given a permanent seat at the table too.

Sherri Shepherd was pretty good...I do think that she should take Star Jone's old seat. As for a replacement for Rosie, Kirsti Alley would be good, but I kinda like Whoopie today..but maybe not permanently. I've never been a Rosie fan, but it's going to be hard to replace her.

Kathy Griffin would be great. She has the bite that brings in viewers. She also has the temperament to take criticism. Today when Barbara called her a bigot and also told her she would never invite her to one of her dinner parties she was cool. If that was Rosie, it would have caused Armageddon. If you dish it out, you have to be able to take it. Also, Kathy is very funny and Rosie is not.

I never thought The View would survive both Meredith and Star leaving at the same time, most especially Meredith of course, but Rosie came in with a bang and did a lot for the show. At the end it seemed to be wearing for both she and the rest of the table of women, and I myself was startled, after 10 years of watching the view, to see the unbelievable fight that fateful day that was Rosie's last.

I do like Kathy Griffin but there just doesn't seem to be a real good feeling between she and Barbara. I adore Whoopi and think she would be perfect. And I very much like Sherri Shepherd. She could sit second chair and we would have a racially balanced panel for the most part, but I don't think that matters. They are both great women and I think those two plus Barbara, Joy and Elisabeth would make a great team!

Also, has anybody talked about Connie Chung? She was great when she was on there!

Kathy Griffin gets tiresome.  She's funny, but too much to watch every morning.  Same with Sherri Shepherd.  It should be someone who is as SMART as Rosie.. not just funny.  What was great about Rosie also is that she didn't "try too hard" like both Kathy and Sherri.

As an avid View fan; Rosie brought life to this show; and they will have a serious fight to keep it alive; liked Marie Osmond; she held her own; as did Kathy Griffin and Sherry Shepherd; also would love Bette Midler. Why they keep the spoiled brat on air is way beyond me; could find a good replacement with almost any of the others. GOOD LUCK!!! You'll need it. Show is boring without Rosie; losing a lot of fans. But only My View.

I would say that Rosanne would be the best. She is brilliant, probbing,uses caring, well chosen comments, and of the age and at the point of her career where she can skew people's comments with the best of them..

I think Sheri would be outstanding.  I think she is funny, knowledgeble and can hold her own.  Kathy is way to ranchy for me and I do not think she is that funny!  I think Whoopi would be brillant as well !

I love Kathy Griffen, I think she's hilarious and down to earth.  I didnt like Rosie she's really annoying and know it all, he assumptions just drove me nuts.  She can dish it out but can't take it.

She and Elisabeth are very much alike just w/opposite view points.

Id like to see Kathy and Whoopi take the spots but Id be surprised if that actually happened.

I miss Rosie, she is a real person. She cares about everyone no matter who you are. I enjoyed the view more when she was on the show. She brought so much of her self to the show and touched so many people. Whoppi is also great on the show as well. I enjoy listening to her tall tales. As for Elizabeth she does not deserve a chair on the view. SHe is non-productive and when she is talking like EF Hutton no one is lsitening. Joy lovely christian/jews women to whom I can realt to as well.

i think kathy griffin is a waste of good air...she needs to stop spreading little nasty things about our king jesus christ our lord...if it wasnt for him she wouldnt have all the things she does have.she needs to know all things good come from him.i feel sorry for her.
