ABOUT TEST PATTERN

Don't touch that dial: Test Pattern tunes into television, entertainment and pop culture links, gossip and idle chat from around the Web. Our annual commercial contest, held every summer, recognizes the best and worst in TV advertising. Multi-link Monday offers up five fast, fun links to fill in those workday boredom breaks. Other topics range from movie mistakes to canceled shows we're still mourning. ("My So-Called Life," anyone?)

MSNBC.com Television Editor Gael Fashingbauer Cooper started Test Pattern in 2003. She also operates her own pop-culture Weblog, Pop Culture Junk Mail, which began in 1999 and has earned praise from Entertainment Weekly and the New York Times. You'll occasionally see her on MSNBC cable or hear her on radio discussing the ABCs of TV.

Multi-link Monday: Test your 'Seinfeld' knowledge

Taking another break from the song-lyric insanity to offer up a Multi-link Monday. Have a cool link to suggest? Post it in the comments.

• Remember when we were trying to find band names in that Virgin Atlantic poster? In a similar vein: Can you find all the "Seinfeld" references in this image? Answers are here. (Via the wonderful PopCandy.)

• Those of us who care about punctuation will either love or hate this site: The "blog" of "unnecessary" quotation marks highlights all those signs that were created by someone who obviously slept through English 101. "Why" do certain people feel the "need" to put "quotation marks" around "everything"? The "world" may never "know."  This cake not only has extra quote marks, but completely unncessary parentheses. (Thanks to Kurt for the link!) And I couldn't leave this topic without also pointing out a classic link, the Gallery of "Misused" Quotation Marks.

• Have a song in your head that you just can't identify? If you can upload a sample of yourself humming or singing it to WatZatSong, the site's readers will try and help you figure out what it is.

• I'm terrible at this online game, but it's fun and addictive: See how far you can fling a paper airplane.

The Warholizer  lets you upload your own digital photos, and it turns them into the kind of multi-image, multi-color portrait that Andy Warhol made so famous. Very cool.

Oh lord...why did I click on that link to the little airplane game??  Curses!!!  I did manage to get out the window - after about 55 throws!!  My personal best?  58.01...I can see I'm now going to have to try and beat that, every day.
I love the Warholizer!  So very cool.  Thanks for the link.  As for the airplane game - I still can't get it out the window.
Warholizer site is great - especially the movie poster, magazine cover and other stuff to create.
Oh I can tell I'm going to spend a lot of time on that airplane game... After some frustration and several times of getting less than 5m, I finally got it to go 61.263m. Very fun.

The Warholizer thing was not working for any photos I tried. All I got was blobs of colour, sometimes with a little bit of image poking through.
I love the Seinfeld Poster Challenge!
The airplane game is cute, but based on previous comments I thought it would be more difficult.  My first throw was 74.319 m - and I'm normally quite a loser at these types of games.
My sweet, silly, departed great-uncle would intentionally put quotation marks around random words in birthday cards:  "Have 'a' great birthday!"  It never failed to draw chuckles from the family.  If only those signs were made in jest like his cards were!
For a future Multi-Link Monday, may I suggest the Candidate Calculator (http://www.vajoe.com/candidate_calculator.html). After watching the Democratic debate last night, I might just let the calculator do the deciding for me.
Gael, I would like to submit an idea for next weeks multi link monday (i found it on msn so im not sure if it will "count") But I thought everyone else would like to see it too....it is engrish.com ( I found it through the top funniest websites online...) Check it out, have a laugh, =)
Wait! When did I miss the Virgin Atlantic band name poster?!!??
YES!!  81.167m - up from 58.01!  Current Global Ranking: 17231 - I hope you're happy now.  This game controls me. ;)  I still can't get the Warholizer to work. :(
The Seinfeld poster ignored Superman!  Almost every episode of the show mentioned him, or had a Superman doll or something of Superman's in the background!
