In sixth grade, my butt-rock friend Maria pressed her copy of Guns N’ Roses’ “Use Your Illusion II” into my hand. After hearing the rapid-fire drums that kick-start “You Could Be Mine,” a diehard fan was born. And now, after 17 years, I finally hold in my hands the latest album of new material from Guns N' Roses.

Considering that some of our Oscar contenders could be Kate Winslet (for “Revolutionary Road”), Penelope Cruz (for “Vicky Cristina Barcelona”), Anne Hathaway (for “Rachel Getting Married”) and Brad Pitt (for “The Curious Case of Benjamin Button”), we’re sure to see some stylish fashions on this year’s red carpet. But what are the secrets behind the fashions?

It's hard to deny that Brooke Burke is probably the most competent dancer on "Dancing With the Stars." But when I watch the show's finale, I'll be rooting for the enthusiastic if slightly wacky Warren Sapp instead.

“The Office” is the funniest show on TV right now. Hands down. However, I’m a bit miffed. The comedy introduced one of the best new characters they’ve had, Amy Ryan’s Holly Flax, and then after this human resources rep found brief happiness with Michael Scott (Steve Carell), she was transferred to a new office.

Confession: I'm not 14, yet I still am looking forward to seeing Stephenie Meyer's young-adult vampire romance, "Twilight," come to the big screen.

When “Casino Royale” was released, I didn’t go rushing to the nearest theater. In fact, I didn’t even see it until three nights ago because I didn’t have faith in Daniel Craig. ... So forgive me for not being upset that he may not be back for a third installment.

Dr. Mark Greene is making a return appearance to "ER" this week. He's just one of many characters who've been written off popular shows. Some were offed because the actor didn't want to be on the show any more, others for plot purposes. And still others, of course, weren't killed off, but just moved to Seattle (Dr. Ross on "ER"), went to prison (Paul Young on "Desperate Housewives") or transferred to the Utica branch (Karen on "The Office"). Let's talk about the long-gone characters we'd like to see visit their old shows once again.

If you think this year’s Oscars will be dominated once again by small, indie movies, think again. Don’t be surprised if you see “The Dark Knight,” “WALL-E” and even “Iron Man” enter the mix of Oscar contenders. Warner Bros and Disney/Pixar have launched best picture campaigns for “Knight” and “WALL-E,” and, according to the New York Times, now that “The Soloist” has moved to 2009, Paramount may push “Iron Man” for best picture and star Robert Downey Jr. as best actor.

Every week, "Dancing With the Stars" votes off another celebrity dancer. A combination of judges' votes and viewer calls determine who goes home. But there's one "Dancing" participant who can never get the boot, and sadly, she's the one person many viewers would most like to see wave goodbye: Co-host Samantha Harris.
