We’re down to the final four on “America’s Next Top Model,” and while the winner seems obvious, the judging this cycle has been baffling.

Teyona is the favorite to win "America's Next Top Model."

Among the four finalists, Teyona is clearly the favorite, but was she really a stronger model than Natalie? The judges didn’t like Natalie’s attitude or bored look in photos, but couldn’t that look and attitude actually take her far? Bored does seem to be the standard when it comes to models in magazines.
Teyona is a deserving winner, however, and it’s nice to see the show celebrate a dark-skinned African-American woman. Her strongest photo was the
face-painted close-up, which showed off her flawless skin and almond-shaped eyes. She usually has one of the strongest photos in the bunch, unless she’s smiling. Then she becomes
all mouth.
The judges have held on to
Aminat, who, though she has a ridiculously great body, can’t seem to take a strong photo. In fact, her best photo may have been
her first, before she even got her makeover. She has a strong runway walk, but it’s obvious that Aminat won’t win.
It’s hard to figure out why the judges kept Aminat rather than
the uniquely beautiful Fo or even
the other model-with-potential, Kortnie.
Which brings us to 25-year-old fashionista Celia. She’s a bit old for a model just getting her start in the industry, and the judges seem to be keeping her around simply to see what fabulous outfit she shows up at to panel in each week. She does take strong pictures, but her looks are a bit severe to be a Cover Girl, which, face it, is the competition’s primary prize.
Allison could pull through, however. The 20-year-old model with the alien-like huge eyes has been criticized for giving the same look over and over, but she is pushing herself and has proved it with recent photos. But, she’s this year’s “shy one,” which means she has no confidence when it comes to go-sees and can’t seem to walk the runway.
Whoever wins, one thing the show should really consider is dumping Mr. Jay (aka Jay Manuel). His advice on the photo shoots often seems contradictory. Why don’t the photographers just direct the women rather than Mr. Jay?
Still, I’ve yet to miss one cycle of this incredibly addictive show. I just can’t wait to see who has the craziest story next year and what ridiculous photo shoot -- the Ellis Island one takes the prize as this year’s silliest -- will come next.
Who do you think will win “America’s Top Model,” and who should have been kept longer on the show?
