My prayers and condolences go out to his family.
Harvey always played the straight man to Tim Conway's antics in their comedy skits but he almost always failed to keep a straight face while Tim's doing his shtick. And it always made me laugh louder than usual to see Harvey trying very hard to keep it all together and then finally giving in to Tim's silliness. That was classic comedy gold! And Harvey's portrayal of Hedley Lamar in Blazing Saddles should rank as one of the best comic performances on the big screen.
Thank you Harvey for the wonderful memories. I would pray and pray for the parents to not come home until after Carol had tugged on her ear. The highlight of the show was always watching Harvey and Tim try to crack each other up, and I have always dreamed of having the power to make people laugh like that. As George Carlin said, "suppressed laughter is the best kind", and Korman and Conway did it in spades. Getting away on this rare date was wonderful! We were probably the youngest couple there (I was 38, my husband was 40). As kids, we grew up watching the Carol Burnett Show. We'll never forget Harvey's brillant stand-up he did that night! It's stayed with us ever since. He was "lamenting" about getting older & how bad his "plumbing" was working! He & Tim did their signature skit set in the dentist's office, too. [reacting in fear].
Korman (sympathetic, concerned): "What's the matter?!"
Conway (fearful, points at Korman's nose): "Is it loaded?"
Korman: (collapses in hysterical laughter, can't finish sketch).

I was fortunate enough, in about 1999, to attend the Korman/Conway touring show with my brother and late Mom, at which we relived some of the happiest times of our youth. Thanks, Harvey.

Harvey Korman made us -- and himself -- laugh

I saw Harvey Korman and Tim Conway perform together several times on stage an d they were really funny.I was really sad to hear about Mr. Kormans death. He will truely be missed.

Harvey Korman made us -- and himself -- laugh

Iam the son of Harvey Korman.I don't know if anyone believes me or not but his unconditional for his children and his wife and loyalty to his friends are what make him a hero to me.I didn't love him because he was famous but because never put his ego or pride or success ahead of my struggles with my learning disabilities. He celebrated my strengths.Iam happily married to day because of the unconditional love my parents bestowed upon me.He was so secure in his fame you wouldn't know he was a legend. To me he was my father and I will make sure his grandsons knows what his value was to many people all over this world.

Harvey Korman made us -- and himself -- laugh

This is harvey Korman's son Chris.I would like to thank you all who expressed heartfelt thoughts about my dad. These memories are helping me cope alot easier. My dads legacy is that he made everyone around him funnier. He took pride in being a second banana or straightman to conway or burnett,or skelton or benny even if he never wanted to be known as a second banana he was one of the best with Carl Reiner. My favorite sketch was torchy song spoof and the dog pound sketch with joel Grey and the tribute to Johhny mercer with Bernadette Peters.High Anxiety was one of my favs.God bless you all for your kindness and respect and love you have shown my father.

Harvey Korman made us -- and himself -- laugh

My father was one of the great second Bananas. He took pride in the fact that he got to be a second banana to some of the greatest clowns in the Patheon of comedy-Benny-Skelton-Lucy-Kaye-Burnett-Mel Brooks.
My fathers four years at Goodman Theatre provided him with a excellent platform to hone his sketch and dialect proffiency that he came to perfect under Kaye-and Burnett. My father said the key for him to making his performing as nuanced and rich is that he approached each sketch as a actor doing comedy. He told me many times without conflict and truth its just a series of gags and one liners that won't reasonate with the audience. He was also a exceptional famly man.He was a terrific grandfather to my son.He helped successfully compensate with my disability by embracing and celebrating it.He never allowed his fame or fortunate to superceed my development.I'm fortunate that his legacy lives on in the eyes and smile of his Grandson.
