I totally hate the "Free"creditreport.com ads as well! Annoying and false, what a combo. I can't decide if I love or hate the commercial for a high mileage car (forget which brand) that has a cathcy song "I just can't seem to get it right..." playing over and over as people pull to the pump on the wrong side. This song gets stuck in my head as often as the credit report song.

The McDonald's Happy Meal commerical with the little boy dancing to the Cha Cha Slide while he's dipping his apples is the best! He comes in with the boom box on his shoulder and he is so cute! My four year old daughter loves this commercial and it always makes me smile when I see it. When his dad starts dancing too and the little boy looks at him over his glasses...I love it!
The worst has to be the Mentos Gum-Mouthwatering Water Cooler commercial. It's so gross. A guy is chewing Mentos gum and a woman walks by and sucks on his mouth to get water from him instead of the watercooler. All I can think of is her drinking his spit...sick.

I am in LOVE with the new catchy Fathers Day add by (i think) Hallmark. When the family is sitting at the dining room table and give dad his fathers day card. When he opens the card, "U Can't Touch This" by MC Hammer starts to play and dad starts to daydream that he is MC Hammer. I absolutely LOVE the dancing, not to mention that I sing "Can't Touch This" all day long. This makes me want to go out and get one of these cards for my dad, because I know a song that will make him daydream the same way. This will definately be my favorite for the summer.

I love the freecreditreport.com commercials with the three losers in it. A friend pointed out that in the "used car" one, you can see a pirate hat in the back seat with the guitar dude. My most recent favorite is one from the new Diet Mountain Dew 'surprising facts' campaign. There are all these women in a lightning storm doing things you should probably never do in a lightning storm ("Fencing!" - "Playing with my HAM radio!" - "Trying out these giant stilts!"). Then the only man on screen catches the lightning strike. FACT: LIGHTNING STRIKES MEN 4 TIMES MORE OFTEN THAN WOMEN. Makes me laugh every time.

I can mention an ad but not without this disclaimer: I acknowledge that the commercial can be considered amoung the worst because of no fault of its own. It is one of the worst because it touches upon a very very extremely personal fear of mine - BUGS!

Now that being said - there is a pest control commercial - I think it is 'Terminix' that begins with a close-up of a termite borrowing through the eye/face of the man on the dollar bill (could be George Washington). I confess that I have absolutely no idea what comes next because I have managed to grab the remote and change channels in a record millisecond time period.

Also in this category can be the pest control commercial with the human-size termite that RINGS THE DOORBELL ON A HOUSE AND ASKS THE OCCUPANT IF HE CAN USE THE PHONE BECAUSE HIS CAR BROKE DOWN!!! Stopping to notice the oak floors!

THIS IS WRONG ON SOOOOO MANY LEVELS!!! To name a few - human sized bug - talking bug - driving bug - YIIIIIIII!!!!

The commercial that drives me crazy is the Hispanic themed Optimum Triple Play where the Hispanic stereotypes run rampant. At one point you have three women in what look like wetsuits on the beach reciting the 800 number and when they get to the last number they do a pelvic thrust. They have the men looking like they are out of the "hood", and one guy dressed like a sea serpant and pirates. If I were hispanic I would be highly offended by the way they are portraying hispanic people in this commercial. And the music is so irritating!!!!!

Also, I cannot stand to watch / listen to any ad featuring Billy Mays (or however you spell his last name). He's the one who sells Ka-Boom! and a number of other household cleaning products (and, I think, some sort of glue product). His voice is extremely irritating - mostly because he screams! I love the Discovery Channel ads because I remember having to sing that song in elementary school. "I love the mountains, I love the rolling hills...etc." My husband and kids looked at me funny when I heard it the first time and started singing along. It was one of those, "What...you never learned that song in school?" moments.

And I have to say my kids' and my favorite Ear-Worm ads are the Truth.org ones. Mostly the "It must've been a typo, a typo, a typo" ones. The underweight baby ones are a little freaky but still catchy.

I hate the commercials that feature "Bob" who used a certain pill to treat his "man problem." There is whistling in the background and lots of innuendos about how much better his sex life is. I don't remember the name of the product, but the song being whistled sticks in my head. The Santa one is the worst- and it's still playing in June. Bob's got a sackful of pride! It's awful!!!

One of the funniest ones I've ever seen was the FedEx superbowl ad from 2006, where this caveman is using a bird to mail his package but it keeps getting eaten by a dinosaur. He goes to his "boss" who wanted the package delivered, and the boss asks him (in hysterical caveman language with subtitles) if he used FedEx. When he says "No", the boss fires him, and as the depressed caveman walks outside, he's stomped on by a huge dinosaur foot.

I also love the freecreditreport.com ads. They should do a movie or a show with those guys: they're hysterical! Or maybe they could have a "parody" band, ala Jack Black's Tenacious D.

My absolute least favorite ads are from Hardee's for their burgers. You can hear the people eating... loudly. If I wanted to hear someone chewing with their mouth open, I'd turn the volume down and listen to my kids.

My favorite ads are the "I love the whole world" ads on Discovery. My kids know all the words and we're big enough dorks that we went to YouTube to find them so we could watch them whenever we wanted. I also like that Discovery is scaling them back. They've shortened and re-edited them so they don't really have a chance to wear thin on the viewer.

My absolute favorite commerical, and a tear-jerker, is the Pedigree Dog Food commerical that shows dogs in the pound. Part of the commercial goes "I know I'm a good dog, I just don't know why I'm here." The commercials show these dogs in cages and you just want to cry then run out to the nearest animal shelter and adopt every animal in the place.

My favorite ad is the the insurance ad where the mom takes the kid to work with her at the bank. Two commercials I really hate: The Hillshire Farms commercial where the Chief of Police is making a sandwich out of Hillshire Farms meats. Employees start popping out of the woodwork and commenting on how great his sandwich and his meat are. It ends with a rah-rah "Go Meat!" When that commercial comes on I change the channel or mute the television. I sent an email to Sara Lee, who owns Hillshire Farms, and they sent me a coupon for free meat. I still won't purchase their products.

The other commercial is the new Geico caveman commercial where the caveman demonstrates his dance moves. What is that about? It is stupid and totally meaningless. And the damn caveman can't dance worth a lick! It is time for the Geico cavemen to become extinct. Once it was funny, now it is pathetic.

During the NHL playoffs on NBC there was commercial for Bud Light that had a new father burst into the maternity ward to the window area where you can see the babies and after butting his way in front of the glass, he bangs on it (as if at hockey game) and shouts something like "hey baby, your the most beautiful baby in the nursery! and then points to other babies and yells, LOOSER, LOOSER, LOOSER and then pointing at his baby goes BEST BABY, YOU ROCK!
You'll crack up once you see it. It is my favorite.

The new Washington Lottery ad with the penguin, chicken and emu getting to "fly" with the hangliders... I absolutely love that one! Makes me tear up, even. I actually LIKE the freecreditreport.com ones, even though I hate that people get ripped off there. I also like the Progressive commercials with the overly cheerful sales lady. She cracks me up!

I am sick to death of the celebrity Geico commercials, particularly the syrup one. Last night an actual Mrs Butterworth commercial came on right after the Geico one. yikes! I love the freecreditreport.com ads--I sing the pirate song all the time in my head. Also, I know it's kind of old and silly, but I also love the Canon SureShot ad with Maria Sharapova and her little Pomeranian. When he sits in front of the wall with all his pix on it and says, "This is working for me right here, this area is nice" with his faux French accent, it makes me smile every time. :)

But, my current fave new ad is for Visa and I think it's Morgan Freeman doing the voice over (although I am not positive about that). It's about Derek Redmond, an Olympic sprinter whose hamstring snapped while he was running the 400m in Barcelona in 1992. He obviously couldn't run, but his father came down on the track to help him finish the race in tears...and I am now in tears, just like I am whenever I see the commercial (and so is my boyfriend). It's one I would normally think was schmaltzy, but it's classy and simple and very, very sweet.

The son is in his garage singing a rock ballad about how he wants a new phone, and the dad comes right back with a vocal solo telling him that he's getting a Go Phone. It wasn't very entertaining to me until the boy ended the spot with a bang.

I hate the SoyJoy commericals. It is animated and this blue lady is walking through the park looking rather tired and out of sorts. I guess I would be too if I were blue, anyway she takes out this health bar which is the soy joy bar and she starts eating it. all of a sudden the sun comes out and shines on her and she is no longer blue.She is sort of pink and that is ok for a cartoon I guess. :-) but when she starts walking down the path with her back against us she is totally bow legged and slew footed with the weirdest walk I have ever seen even for a cartoon plus she is so weird looking even after she stopped turning blue. I know this is a cartoon/animated commercial but she just creeps me out and I hate the music that goes along with the commerical. I brought one of those bars just to see what it tastes like and guess what they are so nasty that they will make you turn blue just by eating them. The health bar is as gross as the commercial.

My FAVORITE commercials are the windex ads with the crows sitting on the telephone wires talking to each other - then the one crow says "watch this" when the guy walks away from the open sliding glass door. Best--TBS' commercials when they were showing the Lord of the Rings trilogy on TV--Gandalf's "Ride the White Horse" was hysterical! (It's on YouTube for those of you who missed out).

Worst--I still see this add on TV and cringe every time--"Does your maxi pad ever get wet and sticky? Then the woman giving the pitch touches a test pad to her suit to show how dry it is." My husband sees her and yells "Wet and STICKY!" every single time. It's horrible!

There's another ad that's on recently that has a woman telling her ulcerative colitis "story". I'm sorry, but I don't want to hear your poo stories!!!!

My favorite is the ad for the insurance company that features the, "Take your child to word day." The mother is at the credit union or bank and sends the reciept to the customer through the tube system. The child then sends rolls or quarters, name plate and the sandwhich. Two commercials that are the absolute worst to me include that mentos water cooler one with the woman tipping the guy's nose up and drinkning from his mouth - disgusting!!! And the other (which I don't remember the product) was where the germ lifts up the toenail to cause an infection in the toenail bed. Close third for worst is the freecreditreport.com - it'd be a good commercial if it wasn't such an obnoxious earworm (no matter which version) and if the product wasn't such a scam (it's not free if you have to givethem your credit card and get charged almost before they show your full set of info).

Best is easily the WA Lottery commercial where they take the non-flying birds on flights. Those are great.

The other one that we loved this year was the Jeep commercial where the guy is singing in the car ("Ain't it good, ain't it right...") and a squirrel falls in and joins along. Then come the birds, and the wolf. The wolf eats a bird and the guy driving the car just gives him "the look". The wolf spits the bird back out and everyone keeps sining. It gets us laughing and singing along every time. In fact, my 7 year old has it on DVR and has to watch it ever so often. Something about that commercial just works for us!

Geico ads - hate them. Hate them all. Makes me want to go out and squish a gecko, and lizards don't normally annoy me. Only when they talk with freakish British accents.

I also hate the ABC ads for "The Mole". I don't give a rat's hiney about who the mole is. They can all fall off the Earth for all I care.

And there's another ad (can't remember what product it's for - I tune it out completely now when it comes on) where it says you can pay THIS price (crowded airplane) for THIS (first class seats), or THIS price (hair stylist talking on the phone, telling you to hold the curling iron) for THIS (spa experience). Since I can't even remember the product, you can see how effective the ad is, LOL. It just puts one single thought in my mind - anyone who tells you that you can get something for nothing is trying to sell you something that you probably don't need or want in the first place.

I hate the product on the freecreditreport.com ads (what a scam), but I love the little song in the one where the guy gets stuck with a clunker and his posse's getting laughed at. Can't get that catchy tune out of my head.

Off the top of my head, the one commercial that makes me dive for the remote control is the one for Pedialyte featuring a child who remarks "I don't think I like chicken/waffles/you name it" every time her mother puts an item in the grocery cart. It gets the point across very well but I find myself wanting to take corrective action to set this little girl straight. She is extremely annoying.

I LOVE the new Jack in the Box ad about their new blended fruit & no-fat yogurt. It shows a wimpy guy sitting near where other people are ordering. The next thing you see is an over-weight fellow ordering while stretching in his disgustingly sweaty shorts and t-shirt. You really have to see the ad to understand it's "grossifying" appeal. I laugh hysterically every time I see it..... probably because people are so inconsiderate these days that I can envision this actually happening to someone. BTW.... I'm not sure if this one was voted as the worst for a couple years ago, but the worst commercials of all time had to be the quizno's commercials with the talking rat. What baffles the mind is that someone, with a career, decided to go that direction. What's more, a manager, VP, President, and Executive team had to approve the marketing campaign. Not to mention the hundreds of thousands of dollars that must have been spent to make the commercials. It's a travesty, but at least we've got Michael Clarke Duncan to listen to now. An improvement, but it wasn't hard to improve over a talking rat.

My vote for best has to go to the crazy truck commercials with all the elaborate sets designed to demonstrate the trucks versatility. Another would have to be Apple's commercials for directly bashing Microsoft (sorry MSFT, you just don't have a comeback, and the commercials pretty much build a brand image of being the best simply by stating the facts, something which you can't refute). Lastly, you have to love the Sprite commercial with the basketball court actually being a swimming pool. Those are pretty cool.

On a side note, the face-by-face commercials for the NBA Playoffs were pretty cool, until they started showing them every two seconds with more and more players. It got played out.

AH, more keep coming to mind. The baby for e*trade was the only truly funny commercial of the SuperBowl.

The commercial with the guy who got his car stolen, and the wall talks, uh yeah, that's pretty lame. Better luck next time

Great: the Slowsky turtles for Comcast. Especially the "I'm sorry and / or my bad" and "you push it REAL good" spots. Very nice.

Good: the Geico commercial with the little kid who wants to push the Geico NASCAR car driver "into the wall". Love that little kid.

Bad: all the airy, spacy, happy-go-lucky drug ads that you can't begin to watch the news without suffering through. You'd think this country ran on medication alone. My least favorite is the ever-popular "restless-leg syndrome" scam.

Worse: the HEAD-ON ads with people who say that they hate the HEAD-ON ads but love the product. Gag.

Even worse: the Vonage chick who "bumps the wall" into the "old telephone company" guy. Makes me change the channel or leave the room. Immediately.

Unwatchable/aggravating/maddening: The freakin' Free Credit Report dot com ads with the singing clowns and the incredibly false and misleading message. Seeing the old-lady doing the head bob to that idiot who's not even playing the guitar he's holding makes me want to puke.

Needless to say, I now have Comcast, Geico insurance, and will never, under any circumstances give any business to Vonage or Freecreditreport.com.

Most ads are OK, but some are just too obscure for me. The message is cloaked in a bunch of loud music and strange looking characters. I suppose the agencies must come up with something new from time to time to retain their contract, but wow, some of the results are really poorly done. My favorite ad is the trash bag one where the piano drops and the men try to catch it. It is priceless when the man carrying the piano parts in the bag asks the lady "where do you want the piano?" Also, I actually like the ads for Geico...it's usually people that we never see on TV anymore anyway, and I wondered whatever happened to them...sadly, I thought most of them were dead, until these commercials.
I think the Captain Morgan ad with the guys trying to compete at the bar in the "pose" with the girls on their legs are pretty dumb.
I do like the add for Mountain Dew...I think it was, that had the lady in the convienent store, and she breaks out a yo-yo and starts hitting the guy with it...I thought that was hilarious!
I also like the freecredit report commercials, for the cheezy song only, because they DEFINITELY aren't free, as previous posters mentioned.
And, I hate the ads with the Wizard in them for Alltel...those are so lame. Especially the one with the wizard sitting around the table with his family eating supper, and then answers the door, and the Alltel guy was inside with him and his family...i.e. like he's a "part of the family". I realize these ads aren't nationwide, but the ones that have been sticking in my head this spring/summer are the "color" series by Marsh Supermarket. So far, there have been white, red, and blue ads with a different song for each. White was something like "I'm a vanilla fella", red was "...I'm in love with red", and blue is "Oh, sweet sapphire..." The images are all of things in those colors, and the songs don't really sound like jingles, until the "Blue...Now for less green" voiceover comes on. The whole series is really catchy, though I'm not sure it makes me any more inclined to shop at Marsh. All I know is that the songs sure do stick in my head. The freecreditreport.com commercials are annoying but effective. Isn't it the point of a catchy/good commercial to get stuck in your head? I am a teacher and while on field trip the commercial came on the TV in the restaurant. All of my 6th graders were singing along with it. It was hilarious. True, 6th graders aren't going to need a credit check. But the commercial did make them take notice, which is rare.

The girl in them who says "Made to enhance that Certain Part of a male body." It drives me up the wall - what part? His earlobes? Arrrghh!

This is way old, but I still love it even now. It was an ad starring the little boy from Two and a Half Men and his commercial father is rushing around the house in the morning getting ready to leave. Then the next scene the kid is on his bike and the father is in his car and they are "racing", the dad is real intense gripping the wheel of the car and the kid is pedaling his heart out.
Also, if anyone is from the Philly area, do you remember the USA Baby commercials from about 20 years ago? My sister still makes me sing their song to this day. And also the original Dorney Park and Wild Water Kingdom theme song too! Now those two ads were earworms.

i dont know if radio commercials count, but there is this one here in Las Vegas for an A/C and refridgeration company and it starts out by these two people saying o i just cant wait anymore, it so hot, let's do it! Eww it just grosses me out, i dont want to hear anyone moaning an groaning. Then it goes on to say get the phone and then they call the company to get the ac fixed. But it is absolutely horrible and every time i hear i turn the radio all the way down for a minute until i think it is over!!!

o yeah and there is one for a new birth control, one of those horrible ones that only makes you get a period 4 times a year.... at the end it says, may cause bleeding in between from spotting to a full period for the first few months, then says side affects include heart attck, stoke and blood clot. (3) the MaxiDerm "male enhancement" ads (order now and you get the Vazamyne tablets free!)

As for earworms, the Subway five dollar footlongs commercial is one that, unfortunately, gets stuck in my head. I think the whole hand gestures thing and the tune are completely annoying.
My vote for worst commercial would be any of the Captain D's Tailsmack series. In particular, the one where the husband comes home with a pizza and he gets smacked in the face by this weird, giant fish's tail. All his wife can do is just laugh! Lady, there's a giant fish attacking your husband and you think that's funny? Then the tail slithers across the dinner table, leaving behind a Captain D's meal. It creeps me out.

I, too, hate those Optimum Triple Play ads. But my least favorite ad right now is for a fungal toe remedy. At the end they show the bottoms of someone's feet with little happy faces drawn with a sharpie on the bottom of each toe. It reminds me of Stephen King's book cover of the hands with the eyes. Can I throw this on the table? Is it just me or am I seeing a trend to bash the American male? The one comercial that strikes me as being the worst, is the breakfast cereal being eaten by a rather cute woman who changes into an offended and irritated bully because her husband questioned her why she was eating that cereal.She asked him if he thought she was fat, he ,in his deffence, was reading the nutritional information, she in her royal smuggness, asked him, " what else does it say Steve? His responce is a timmedly " shut up Steve" which he apparently does, and she gives a not so cute smile putting him in his place,which apparently is so much lower than her.
Bad commercial.Will not buy any product from that company.

Worst - it's got to be the Mentos ad where the woman drinks from the man's mouth lke it's a water fountain. How gross is that??

Favorites - I like the Verizon Fios add where event he flea on the cat is amazed by the picture quality - WOW!! I also get a kick out of the pest control add (Terminix?) where the giant bug rings the doorbell and tries to deliver a pizza, so he can get into the house. The man tells him "we didn't order any pizza" and he replies "can i just put this on your table?" Cracks me up! But my favorite right now is the Stride (long lasting flavor) chewing gum ad where the Stride execs release a ram to butt into the guy so hard his gum comes flying out of his mouth, thus freeing him to chew a new piece and increasing their bottom line. Hilarious! Honorable mention - the ad where the sloppy litterbug drops his garbage all over the road and sidewalk, and his neat co-worker picks it up, finally presenting him with a garbage "tree" left on top of his car with a note reading "You dropped this." All to the tune of "The Odd Couple" - clever and funny.

"Get more sleep without counting sheep and have another night of bliss, across from Macy's furniture in Silverdale is where we is, save more bucks at the Mattress Ranch. dink-dink-dink-dink." The jingle is accompanied by an older man (50-60), usually sporting a SpongeBob Squarepants necktie, mathcing hat, jeans, and a causual or flannel shirt, holding fanned out money in his hand, dancing in place like his legs are rubberbands until the end where he starts to bend sideways toward the ground during the "dink. dink, dink, dink" portion of the jingle. Sometimes he is joined by some kids who rubberband leg dance with him too.

Taco Bell has a monopoly on the dumbest commercials ever with the rapping wanna-be white guys at the drive thru...just simply stupid. Now we've got the even-dumber one with the "seventy-nine, eighty-nine, ninety-niiiiiiiiiiine". Someone save us.

"There ain't no bugs on me" is annoying. I've about had it with late-night Comedy Central's every-other commercial being Girls Gone Wild "I'm finally 18." I love the Discovery Channel's "I love the whole world." Girlfriend and I can't help but "Boom-di-yada" along with it.

My favorites are the talking stain in the interview; I love how the stain gets louder as the guy talks.
Also the one for Burger King where the guy is flung up against the outside door and you are supposed to assume he was thrown from the car. then cut-scene to the car which is rolling driverless into the parking lot and crashes into another car. The line is like "when you can't wait". But the funniest part for me was how unexpected the crash was- I was in a waiting room when I saw it and couldn't stop laughing.

I like the PSA's that promote living without cigarettes. The tag line is doing things without cigarettes and they cover a lot of different areas. One of them has a guy attempting to get ready for work, dressing, brushing his teeth, etc.and is totally incapable of doing it correctly. It's a reminder that there is life after cigarettes and you can do it and they do it without hitting you over the head with the message.Worst, ANY of the local ambulance chasing lawyers. We have one for James Sokolov that has William Shatner and it just reminds you that as bad an actor as he can be, he makes a much worse spokesman.

By far the Six Flags commercials are the worst I've seen in a while. An Asian man's head popping onto the screen stating that a woman shining a laser pointer at the wall and laughing at her cat who is trying to catch the dot of light deserves "1 flag." Next they show a family on a roller coaster and he states "6 flags ... more flags ... more fun!" Absolutely terrible.

My favorite commercial is the Hallmark one where the dad starts dreaming on dancing to "can't touch this." Always brings my friends and I to a rolling laughter.

So many awful commercials! I hate the ones where women use food to attract men, like the Planters nuts one with the woman with the unibrow and the Taco Bell one where the girl has like a Taco with bacon or something on it in her purse to attract guys. Also, that PedEgg ad is so disgusting. It's bad enough showing it working on the feet but then to show other uses like with food preparation is just SO gross!

On the positive side, I love most of the Mac-PC ads, but my favorite by far is the one with the cheerleaders. They cheer for Mac, saying "Mac is Number 1" and PC complains that they are supposed to cheer for him, so they cheer "PC is Number 2". :) I love that... Also, most commercials with Peyton Manning are pretty funny, but they only run during football season, so not as fresh in your mind in the summer.

Now, I am not sure when this commercial came out, but it is one of my favorites of all time. It is for Mastercard and starts off with a little boy dancing in the hallway at school to the song "We want the funk" and then his two friends come and join him...It is absolutely adorable and I LOVE IT!

1) The Dairy Queen commercial where a father tells his son that he can have some of his sundae if he says "antidisestablishmentarianism." Absolutely the cutest commercial ever.
2) The Oreo commercial where the little boy and his father eat oreos via web cam. Very clever.
3) The Planters Peanuts commercial where the woman with the uni-brow is getting a lot of attention from attractive men, only to find out she dabbed the peanuts on her like peanuts before she left the house that day.
4) “F-R-E-E that spells free …” FreeCreditReport.com outdid themselves.

Commercials that I hate:
1) The Viagra commercials “Vivaaaaa Viagraaaa.” Unnecessary.
2) The Six flags commercials where the Asian man’s head pops up and rates things on the flag meter.
3) The fibromyalgia commercial where the woman is writing in her diary about her pains of the day.
4) The Optimum TV commercial where the blonde housewife delivers cupcakes to her son and his friends, her car racing mother, and her husband. Horrendous.

Like MC from Olympia, I like the E Trade baby commercials, too. My favorite is the one where he and the boys were talking about what to do with all their extra coin and he says he's renting a clown. You can see the clown partially in the background and the baby says he underestimated the creepiness (of renting a clown).

The WORST is the one for the at-home pregnancy test that says "it's the best stick you've ever peed on." or something to that effect. Gross.

I do like the "this is ___'s phone" ads, they are pretty cute. I always have to say "Kelly! Kelly Moore!" with the dad, because I have a good friend named Kelly Moore :) And I love the use of "dillweed" in a commercial that isn't Beavis and Butthead. Brilliant.

Also, "Paradise by the Dashboard Light" is one of my all time favorite songs (and frankly, the world's most perfect song for karaoke), so the Meatloaf commercial rocks my world :)

I guess some of this is regional, as we don't have that Verizon flea ad. My current favorites are the ones with the two Sonic guys. The dumb blonde one cracks me up every time. It looks as though I am one of the few that actually LIKES 'free credit report, baby!' But I don't ever think about the company or whether they are legit or not - I don't make any adjustments in what I buy/don't buy based on the commercial,anyway. It has always amazed me that people actually get PAID to think these things up. Personally, I HATE THE BEE WITH THE FOREIGN ACCENT that advertises some anti-allergy medicine - and I also change the channel when the Oxyclean guy starts shouting at me.

Those two ads should have to be played together.

Chase Financial has a line of advertisements that annoys me to no end. In one, a woman turns on her TV only to find it doesn't work properly, then gives her husband the authority to go buy a new one, "but don't go overboard." Cue Freddie Mercury singing "I WANT IT ALL" at the top of his lungs in order to tap into our greed, and the man standing in front of several widescreen televisions, arms outstretched, like he has just achieved nirvana. The other commercial in this ad scheme involves a dude acting out a James Bond daydream when informed that someone has attempted to steal his ID. Both of these advertisements are annoying from top to bottom for multiple reasons, but the most glaring offense is that the only thing in color is the Chase insignia, in a stark, striking blue over the dull black and white of everything else in our mundane lives. Mmmmaybe I'm taking this a bit too personally, but to me, Chase is insulting everything that is NOT Chase (including me, you, and the punk kid in the FreeCreditReport.Com ad) is just.... boring. And Chase is like Arnold Schwarzenegger, bright, peppy, and filled with zip and zing. And lots, and LOTS, of greed.

Count me in for a huge fan of the Discovery Channels commercial. As stated earlier, it plugs their shows, but it is truly a great song, not played too loud, and makes you wonder at the marvel that is our planet.

It shows a whole bunch of different animals- a moose that's interested in the rewards program "because life is all about the perks, baby" a bear with a southern accent that loves the restaurant and the highlight, a beaver "I work hard- one dam project after another Kewadian helps me unwind."- there's also a squirrel looking for her bag of quarters- its just so cute.

I love the free credit report commercials, they're catchy and the guy is cute. The 5 dollar foot long commercials are starting to grow on me, but I still don't like Subway.

The one commercial series that I have a hard time dragging myself away from in a bad way are the ones with the "Can you hear me now?" guy (I can never remember which phone company) substituting himself in for other people. The mosquito ad is weird and funny, but the woman in labor one is just plain bizarre.

And the new Cold Play - Viva la Vida for itunes is awesome. That made me want to go buy the cd right then. The last commercial that did that was a couple years ago, Volkswagen Touareg had a song by Richard Buckner in it. I went right out and bought it and have been a Richard Buckner fan ever since.

I hate all medicine, health product or feminine hygiene ads. There seems to be no way to make them anything but annoying.

Not sure if these are from 2008 - I love the Coke Zero ads with the CGed tongues, eyeball, finger & brain. I love them all, but especially the one with the brain coming out & telling them if they don't shut up, he's going to make the tongue eat dirt, and the eyeball will "have to wear the onion sombrero All. Day. Long. Senor." They're so surreal that they're brilliant.

Oh! I had completely forgotten about the talking stain ad! I haven't seen it on TV in a while, but I thought it was sooo clever! And I love that the stain isnt actuall saying anything, it's just yelling gibberish really loudly. A very simple, literal visual representation of a common saying!

I also hate the new Comcast commercials which try to do the same thing (giving a literal visual representation of a common saying) but it is sooo dopey! There's one where a caveman is about to club some sort of rodent but stops cause he thinks it's too cute...and the tagline is "Hard to beat" as in their prices. Yeah, it is that dumb.

* I can't remember what the advertisement was for but I love that commercial where the daughter hides her stuffed monkey in her dad's briefcase and the dad sends her pictures of the monkey from all the places he's been and the last one is in front her house. "Sweet Pea, apple of my eye...")

*I also have to agree and say that I love the commercial with the kid from two and ahlf men racing his dad on his bike while his dad pretend to be driving really hard.

*I love those insurance commercials where people are doing good things for strangers :) Pay it forward :)

Here in Colorado, the most annoying jingle comes from National American University, which is always sung (badly): "One day, one night, Saturday's all right, National American University..." It makes me positively want to SCREAM when it comes on, and what makes this institution so EVIL is that they now run their ads in the local movie theaters, too, when we are all a captive audience, unable to empty the theater in time to escape their wretched song.

I think car ads must have the highest percentage of bad/stupid/incomprehensible ads. A work colleague and I share a particular STRONG dislike of the one with the woman saying, in a low throaty voice, "The question is, when you turn on your car, does it return the favor?" Makes me think the car must have vibrating seats. And, maybe I'm wierd here, but I don't turn on my car, I start it up! I turn the key -- no preposition needed.

How about a new category, "Most Annoying Advertising Theme?" My nomination for this new category would be stealing food. I have three examples of this.

A1 Steak Sauce: A man asks another man in a restaurant notices another man eating a hamburger slathered in A1 and asks, "Can I try that?" When the other man reaches for the steak sauce, the first man snatches the plate.

A&W Restaurant: (I'm glad I don't know where one of these things is around me.) A fire chief brags about how he gets exactly what he wants, even when he doesn't order it. Of course, he steals the new guy's lunch.

Taco Bell: Two guys in a crowded elevator are talking about the crunch wrap that one of them bought. Suddenly, he notices a bite mark in his wrap and sees a guy next to them chewing with a guilty look on his face.

What are these food companies trying to tell us, because I think I'm getting the wrong message? "If you buy our product, somebody is going to steal your lunch." That's the message I get.
