I couldn't have said it better myself! The original was criticized for being too unrealistic and not edgy enough yet the new one is the same and worse because it's totally predictable. The second you meet the characters you know where they are going and who they are going to hook up with. Their current story lines are weak, predictable and much more unrealistic than the original.
I also agree that the Erin Silver character is worth watching, but only because she has ties to the original show. I'll tune in for Brenda, Kelly (and her drunken mother - also original to the first show), but once they exit (which you know they will) I'm changing the channel. The only thing about this show that I want to know is: who is Kelly's baby daddy???

I actually lauged the entire way through the show- out of pity. It was awful. I especially liked the part when the teacher and the soon-to-be 16 year old hot girl were at the same bar. Oh, and the (sex act) early in the morning, in broad daylight, in the school parking lot, was hilarious. Aaron Spelling must be rolling over in his grave.

I guess I was the only one who loved the new 90210. I liked how they threw in old things from the old show like Hannah Zuckerman Vasquez LOL!....to the author of this article I gaduated high school in 2001 and YES there were girls and guys who got PLEASURE before, after and DURING school. This is nothing new I too LOVED the original I always have and always will but I do like how the new one deals with the kids and adults problems...yes it was a lot to take in in just the first two hours but that just makes me even more excited and anxious for what is going to happen next....atleast the show will last until they graduate high school I just hope it doesnt end too soon like other teen dramas have.

I found it all just hard to follow. It was hard to see who each character was, they jumped around so much. I really want to know who the father of Kelly's baby is too, since I thought she could not have any kids I am really interested to see what that is about. I am glad they kept some of the old characters in the story line and that will be the only reason I will watch. If they don't expand on the story lines of them, I may stop watching.

As a parent of a 15 year old and fan of the original 90210 series, I was a bit disappointed in the new direction the show took. A bit too much sex in the first episode and the actress AnnaLynee McCord(Naomi Clark) character is very much like the character she played in the FX series Nip/Tuck , so for me it is hard to seperate her character in that show from her new persona.I do like that have the children of the past like Erin Silver and the school DJ (who is the offspring of Andrea and Jesse).The show may have potential and I get it is not intended to be a carbon copy of the original but, it is never a good idea to insult the original especially when you have familiar characters(Kelly, Brenda, etc) that old fans can relate to.

I was so excited to see this new show, but I was thoroughly disappointed. The only thing that kept my TV on was Kelly & Brenda. I love that they are hinting that Brandon is Sam's father. It felt like home to see those two again. The highlight was seeing Kelly, Brenda, and Nat all together talking about Brandon.

I could have cared less about the new characters. They are nothing like teenagers (if they're even teenagers!) My husband was shocked as to how much more "adult" this one was compared to the original. There is no way people can believe this. On a side note, besides Dixon and Silver, the acting was terrible!!!

1. Laurie Louglin as "Mrs. Walsh"-mmm yeah we're actually suppose to believe she's grown up in Kansas... what do we look like Dorothy or something? In my mind, she's always that chicka who snagged Jessie in "Full House" and played cool pseudo mommy to the Olsen Twins. Watch out world if those two make a cameo in the new 90210.

2. (Sex acts) before school in the student parking lot: mmm yeah, where are the rent a cops trolling the parking lots for those hygiene disasters in progress? I know my high school, probably a similar size, had those folks all over the place before, during and after school. The smart kids (i.e. seniors) went during 5-7th period lunch to their houses to get some snooky- I mean spooning.

3. Jeannie Garth as a guidance counselor- Sure she was always trying to deal with her odd up-bringing and getting assaulted more than once during her tenure on the original series. Now she's still solving everyone's problems by sticking her nose in their business. Her baby daddy is either Brandon Walsh or Dylan McKay, or maybe she's not sure. Either way, she's looking to help those who SHE thinks need it, whether they like it or not. Her baby sister, now a teenager, is especially prone to this TLC during her school days. Her character accepts it begrudgingly or maybe she's lapping it up because their mother has yet to win the PTA parent of the year award for all her -self-loathing...woe is I- bit.

4. Rob Estes as a principal- Okay maybe this dude's been getting a lot of TV work lately but he always plays a bad boy and NOW we're suppose to believe he's an upstanding principal who left LA for Dorthy-land because he was embarrassed that his mother made a fortune doing porn work time. Who on earth would recruit a principal in Kansas to work in LA unless he was born and bred there?: And oh yeah, he had a love child with this Wisteria Lane esque type Orange County housewife blondie.

I couldn't agree with your review more. The whole Pretty Woman jetting off to San Francisco was ludicrous. I grew up in Bel Air (which is no small shakes when it comes to exorbitant wealth, either) but none of my friends ever did anything that over the top. Only Hollywood would make up such blarney. And the (sex act)? Geez!!! The only storyline I liked was Dixon trying to find something in common with his dad to feel less "adopted". That and I'm looking forward to Jackie/Erin/Kelly. Other than that, I am not invested in ANY of the new characters whatsoever. With the original, I loved the twins from the start. I even loved the snobby rich kids. But these kids (esp Naomi) who walk in and out of class like they run the school are just waiting to get a stiletto shoved up their collective you know whats from me.

A.) 8:00pm is the family hour. (Get over it. It's the CW we are talking about here NOT CBS. The average family is NOT tuning into the CW for family night in front of the tv.) B.) The show REALLY stretched the imagination for sure. Dinner in San Francisco? C'MON!! But- all in all is wasn't as bad as I expected it to be. Naomi & Dixon were the most unpleasant to watch. She looks like a nose job gone bad and the whole Dixon adoption plotline seemed ridiculously forced. I did not believe for a second in the Wilson family unit. Besides, they tried to force in too many Walsh family traits. Dixon (like Brandon) was a jock, Annie (like Brenda) wants to be an actress. Dixon (like Brandon) mulling over doing things to make his Dad happy to feel closer. ENOUGH of that crap. Make the Wilsons their own family.

My # 1 reason for tuning in and my ONLY reason for staying tuned in is Shannen Doherty. Brenda rocked the original and it was great to see Brenda, Nat & even ridiculous Kelly together again. When Brenda leaves (she is on for 4 eps only allegedly), so will my viewership. KEEP BRENDA!! KEEP BRENDA!! KEEP BRENDA!!

I agree with pretty much all the comments here - It's a totally predictable show. The story lines are weak - and a reprise of the original. The girls are entrirely too skinny. The only reason I will continue to watch is for the nostalgic value. I can't wait to see more of the connections to the original. Kelly's mom comes back next! You think we'll get cameos from Brandon or Dylan?

The original posting here shows you are a bit out of touch with what goes on in schools today....and even over the last 10-20 years. Granted, I would rather not see some of what the show began with...but the act you all are referring to unfortunately reflects reality in many schools. Also, please note that the original 90210 series operated on the premise of looking at "ordinary kids with extraordinary lives." I am guessing the premise for this spinoff show is similar? Either way, I had friends in both high school and in college in Texas who had access to their parents' planes and could jet off as they wished in the 80s and 90s. Either way, the new show premiere was fast paced with fun storylines....and I do not feel anything was over the top or unrealistic. Even if it had been, who cares? It is television. I enjoyed the original and already like the new show's beginning. I do not understand the extensive analysis....do you not watch television shows like this for pure entertainment? The show was entertaining to me...some scenic views....good pace...a lot of humor...strong cast....etc.

I watched the show last night and it was entertaining enough, but it is always so hard to compare a new version of a show to the original. There were definitely some parts that were completely predictable and outlandish, but it was still mindless fun. Noone was expecting Shakespeare.

But, I do have to agree with Ana from L.A. Several of the actresses on the show, mainly Annie and Silver, are wayyy too thin. As a very petite and thin person myself I understand how people can be naturally tiny, but those skinny bodies sure showcase the signs of an eating disorder. Let's hope they put on some weight!!

it wasn't terrible, but it wasn't good either. i live near beverly hills and nobody acts like that, and the city isn't nearly that "utopian". it was very exaggerated, but i agree that that is why we watch it. what did people expect? emmy winning scripts? golden globe nominations all-around? its a teen soap opera for crying out loud, get over it! i don't think its going to last very long, but hey, at least its not yet another reality show! and as far as it being on during "family time on TV", why is your family watching "90120" anyway, regardless of what time it is on TV? Does your TV only get the CW? even if the oral sex act wasn't in it, it is still inappropriate for kids, so change the channel, read a book, play monopoly, but it isn't the show's fault you're letting your kids watch "90210" at 8:00...

I am the biggest fan that the original 90210 could ever have.the new 90210 was not up to standards. the whole paper staealing part was already done. the time where steve stole brandons paper.the text message part was more of a one tree hill thing, texting that he is cheating. The part were the father has a child he didn't know about is more melrose place and the whole can i take you out to dinner is more party of five. Where Kelly was asked out. Very disappointed. The best thing was that Andreas daughter was there and Kelly and Davids' sister. I was even upset with the peach pit. I hope that Kelly's baby is Dylan's. Or the spin would be if Brenda really has a child by Dylan. I need for Luke, Jason, Ian, Brian and Tori to get back to this show. they need help. I think what set everyone off is that it didn't come on until after midnight. We were already mad at that. So it was down hill from then.We need some better writers and Jason and Brian need to start to produce these episodes as well. This show needs to be called 90211.

I loved the original 90210 and was a little skeptical at first about this one, but after sitting down and watching the entire show, I enjoyed it. The original 90210 was not a work of art or a show with great writing. It had likeable characters with interesting stories. I think this show has that potential as well. The main girl Anne seems like the "Brandon" of this show and I think it could work. You can't ever really judge a show from the pilot so I'll have to see how the next few episodes are.

So not impressed. I figured they would try to tie in more for the past fans of the show which would not only include the new fans but the old. However, the show is a glossed over repeat of all other shows on the air. The kids don't act like real people and while some of the acting is great...the story line leaves alot to be desired. I loved Kelly's character and hope they keep her! I almost felt sick when I sat Nat and thwn they played the old theme song...it was WRONG! They didn't come close to capturing the reason the original worked!

The baby's dad is dylan. That's a definite. And it wasn't bad, you can't expect characters that played teenagers and into there twenties to act the same way when they're supposed to portray their early 30s. The whole show is directed at teens exept for original cast members which is just directed at original 90120 fans. Any series premiere is always rough around the edges, give it time to build. It could get better, it might not. And yes the teenagers being portrayed in this show are exactly how most teenagers are acting today.

I remember watching the original, but to be honest... I was a little too young for any of it to make sense and therefore it was a bit too boring. I graduated HS in 2000... and this rendition of highschool in Beverly Hills may seem a little extreme to those who didnt witness these types of things or have similar experiences while so young... but I can tell you - it't not far off from what school is like these days. Kids were caught having sex in the janitors closest when I was in 6th grade! So, if you dont want your kids to watch it - dont let them. As for me, I'm going to watch it, in fact, I loved it.

Finally - a review I can agree with. First, I get that Brandon is the baby dadday???? I loved Rob Estes, Jenny Garth, and of course, Mr. Nat. The kids were pretty good, although Silver is in the front for best character. Can we say CHEESE? Not realistic and a terrible thing for kids now to be watching, with the exception of our old fav characters. The main msnbc review says it all. I also fought the urge and thankfully Jennie Garth & Shannon were there to stop me. Don't know if I will watch after next week- I will tune in to see K.Taylor's alcoholic mother, though. Well..i'd hate to break it to you but kids do that in parking lots at school today. I know kids in grade school that are sexually active. Have You ever watched Sweet 16 on mtv? Those kids flew to Paris to look for prom dresses...what makes you think rich kids wouldnt fly in a date from a nearby city. Being a rich teen 15 years ago is a lot different than it is now. There are no limits...so you shouldnt be surprised by what they are showcasing here.

OK, I'm going to weigh in on who I think is the father of Kelly's baby. I think it's Dylan. Remember the scene last night when she's talking on the phone and says "He's been asking about you"...obviously speaking to the "baby daddy". Then the kid wakes up crying and she has to hang up. Fast forward to the scene where Kelly and Brenda meet up at "The Pit" and Kelly excitedly asked how's Brandon doing. She wouldn't have to ask that if she had just been tallking to him on the phone. Further more...I really don't think the father is Steve as one poster suggested. He was happily married with their daughter (who, as you remember, almost didn't survive). So...there's my reasoning. I agree with others that the references to the previous show were great (Hannah Zuckerman-Vasquez, "Silver", Nat). However...I noticed something that I didn't read in anyone else's posts....the brother and sister (from Kansas) share a Jack and Jill bathroom between their bedrooms....just like Brenda and Brandon did in the original.

I admit, I watched it simply because I was a fan of the original and wanted to see how they were going to work my old favorites into the “new” version. Oh and the fact that I just love Rob Estes! Lol Not sure what I think of this updated series…..I do think the morning sex act was a bit too much, I mean, come on, was that really necessary??? And I have to agree with someone when they said that the Kansas kids made friends all to easily…..and the dinner trip to SF???? Give me a break. I did get a kick out of seeing how Hannah ZV was brought into the show, but it did make me think back…wasn’t Kelly’s sister Erin, a bit older than Hannah?? I mean, yeah, I know it’s TV and all, but still…lol If that’s the case, where is Janet & Steve’s little girl?? Gosh, I can’t even remember her name! lol Help me out someone! I know someone out there knows it! If the show survives it will be on the returning favorites giving it the boost it needs with the old timers like me watching for answers to ?’s about where the old Peach Pit gang is today. Without the references to the original cast, I don’t think the show would have a chance. I’m wondering how many episodes it will be before one of these kids goes shopping on Rodeo and finds a Donna Martin Original to wear! Hint Hint: Bring Back Donna Martin!!! Lol

Not only do kids perform sexual acts in the school parking lot, but fourth graders wear colored bands on their wrists to show off what acts they've "accomplished" or are willing to. Kids drink on a weekly basis, drugs aren't hard to come by either. I didn't watch the show, assuming it would be trash, but unfortunately it sounds right on target for this generation.

I thought the show was fabulous...yes fabulous. I am suprised by these reviews. Has anybody stepped into a high school recently? Yes, there are plenty of sex acts happening at all times of day. And as for the lack of realisitc depth in the new show....did anybody ever watch the old show? Kelly was burned, shot and raped! How was that realistic? To be honest, yes the show dealt with relevant issues back then as I am sure that it will now. It is impossible to judge from a single episode. I thought it mixed new and old in the appropriate intended way. It gave something back for those who loved the original, but it also opened the door for new viewers who didn't grow up watching the original. Oh, and Kelly's baby was fathered by Dylan according to one popular blog site; which would make sense considering that the father is clearly absent which is a trademark of Dylan McKay.

does anyone else hate the phrase "baby daddy" as much as I do? Also, I thought it was just me but I saw an earlier post that agreed - supposedly Kelly couldn't have kids. Soo?????????? I know miracles happen, but isn't this show one miracle too many already? I loved the old one, but had tons of trouble getting into this one. I'll give it another shot, but won't hold my breath (it did take around two to three seasons for the first one to take off after all)

I thought it was pretty much the same as all teen shows nowadays. You basically put characters on who have lives that kids WISH they had. Everyone is way too smart, rich, beautiful and cool. And to the poster who complained about the girls being slim and suggested they go have a sandwich (oh, how original!), that was an incredibly rude comment. If the girls were overweight, would you have called attention to it and commented that their jaws should be wired shut?

It should be no more "distracting" to watch slim girls than to watch girls who are overweight. Unless of course you are overweight yourself and their appearance reminds you of it. In which case, don't project your own issues onto others via public insults. Deal with it privately.

I believe Brandon is the father of Kelly's baby. When Brenda appeared Kelly made reference to saying she talked to Brandon and he needs to see the baby more? It did show Kelly on the phone talking to someone before that and she made the comment, "he is asking about you".
I thought the show was not that bad. It certainly is not as entertaining as the original. I actually enjoyed the OC more than this.

Actually since I think most of us posting are not the target audience of this show it really won't matter what we think. I work with high school girls and the buzz has been good all day long. They watched the original in syndication and are excited to have thir own updated version...I think it will make it.

The show was completely insulting to old fans.

So all of a sudden we see Hannah? Last we heard, they were living around New Haven because Andrea was going to try Yale finally. We can't just have Hannah back in LA without explaining where Andrea and Jesse are. It just doesn't make sense. And they probably thought they were throwing us a bone but it wasn't worth it.

It was good that they provided details on how Kelly ended up a guidance counselor. But they completely failed to mention her PR business that she started in the series finale. Do we just pretend that didn't exist?

Weird that they mentioned another male principal before Harry. What ever happened to Mrs. Teasley? Even after high school, we still saw her, even in the series finale.

In season 10, Jackie and Mel were separating after the whole strip club fiasco with Gina. So we're supposed believe they got back together again and then split AGAIN to make Silver's story about Naiomi be true? And that's why Jackie is back on drugs after 18 years of being sober?

And Palisades definitely wasn't West Bev's rival back in the original.

A reunion with Brenda and Kelly without mentioning their old friends? Kind of weird.

I'm dying to know what Rob Thomas' original pilot was, since they've said it's so different from this one.

Here's hoping the pace slows down, the stories get more accurate, we get Dixon's adoption back story, find out why in hell the Peach Pit changed styles, and some answers regarding Sammy's dad and how/why Brenda and Kelly saw each other years ago.

I really wanted to like this but I think it sucked. The pace was like it was made for someone who was ADHD, most of the characters really over-acted and you couldn't really make out what they were saying half the time because they garbled their lines, it was cheesy even though they said it wouldn't be, I don't feel anything for the new characters...it was just plain bad. The scene with Annie and Naomi walking down the hall accentuated just how skinny the character of Annie is but there are people that skinny naturally so I'm not going to harp on that...but it was so dumb that the teacher was hanging out where the high-school kids were. I don't care how "cool" he's supposed to be - that just made him seem like a loser. I did like the music and the new scenes of Bev Hills and LA - beyond that, it sucked.

I was thinking about Kelly's son.. It totally makes sense that it is Dyln's, but when Kelly said to Brenda "you haven't seen Sammy very much in the last 4 yrs..." Would Brenda really want to see Dylan's son with Kelly? I think Brandon is the babydaddy.. and really.. how the hell did Kelly have a child??? She isn't able to.. I guess modern science cured that?

As for the show.. I watched and loved watching Brenda and Kelly.. and Nat. I'd love for the others to make cameos. It would be great to see Steve.

I didn't hate the show, just didn't love it. And the actress who plays Annie.. she is too skinny. She looks borderline anorexic.

As with any show with this much hype, there are always a group of people who have to be "cool" and say it totally stunk.

The truth is, High School is different today than it was 20 years ago when the original premiered. Sure, the original was a classic and captured the times, but those times have changed.

I thought they did a good job reflecting the everyday ins and outs of today's typical high school student.

Some of us that grew up with 90210 have to take a moment to put ourselves into our teenage shoes and remember all the mischief we got into. We are adults now and see things differently.

The references were great. The cast is great. But they need to continue to push for old castmates and intertwine them in some way to keep both the old school and new school viewers happy.

Thanks for bringing a classic back and modernizing it, CW.

I thought it was okay, loved seeing the original folks.

I vote Dylan as the father. She was with him at the end, and it would be typical of Dylan to flake out and not be around for his kid. Not very Brandon-like. I hope it's not Steve for reason of another poster -- he had finally matured, and was a married father. Although I thought maybe Kelly was talking to her mom on the phone? Sorta missed that part.

Not such a big miracle that Kelly had a baby; she had endometriosis, which can block tubes and prevent pregancy. However, I had a friend who had that (and a tube removed even) and who later had a child when docs said it couldn't happen.

I will watch again next week, but except for Silver, I don't really care about the newer generation.

Have any of you ever heard the old expression, "Don't expect anything and you won't be disappointed?" It's a reprisal of an original. They are never as good to die hard fans. They can only hope to find a new following and if some of the veteran fans tag along for the ride because they tease us with clips of Kelly and Brenda and thoughts of other original cast members, then hey, they've done their job.

To those of you that are, do you really want to know why you were disappointed last night? You were hoping to go back in time. You were hoping to relive your own teens, back when the original was a hit. Get a grip - that was then and this is now. Enjoy it for what it is. A 2000-esque sitcom with a flash from the past here and there, thrown in for effect.

I can say for certain that oral sex in front of the school wasn't going on at my school, but it happens now all of the time. That's partly why the responses are so mixed. If you want to see the old 90210, go rent season 1 - the original. Don't bring down these actors/writers/etc. because you're miserable and need to go back in time to find what you're looking for.

Times are different, the show is different, the actors are different. Just like it would be if you were to go back to your high school and try doing freshman year over again 10 years later.

Have realistic expectations if any and you won't be disappointed. I think it did exactly what it set out to do. It's competing with all the new shows AND adding a whole new demographic by throwing in the old cast. I can only hope they bring back more of them! :)

Gossip Girl is funnier and A LOT more stylish. Plus they've already got the blog thing going. Although it wasn't THAT bad, come one people, what were you expecting. Besided, i was watching the marathon they had on soapnet Monday and the original show seems so outdated and corny now. BTW- sex and other "acts" do happen in school as do the drugs and the backstabbing and all the other drama. I think it's the fact that high schoolers have nothing else to focus their energy on (well, some of them) lol.. man i feel old..

I am a huge fan of the old 90210 and I thought the new 90210 was a huge disappointment. I was awful They tried to cram too much into the two episodes. I will probably watch again just to see what Brenda and Kelly are up to or to see if any of the other old cast members come back. But not for the current story line. You should not try to do over something that was so good.

I am a big fan of the original 90210. The new series is a bit much, I think that it would have been better to leave well enough alone and start fresh with new ideas and a new cast. If the original 90210 was the intent of this spinoff then most of the original cast should have signed on. This is most confusing and very difficult to follow because I'm constantly trying to figure who they all are in respect to the original show and in the process I am getting bored. I too was an original 90210 junkie. Never missed a show. People criticized it back then and I can remember people criticizing the actor who played Dillon saying he was too old to play a high schooler. . . but the show was written well and was a fan favorite. I wasn't all that impressed either with the new version. Aaron Spelling and the original cast of 90210 are really a hard act to follow. I actually got up and started doing dishes in the middle of it--which would never have happened back in the day. As a matter of fact Wednesday night at my house was 90210 and Melrose Place night . . . don't knock, call, or come over . . . it's Wednesday night. I enjoyed Kelly and Brenda . . . but that was about it.

I was a hardcore BH 90210 fan back in the 90's. I taped every single show from 1990-2000. I was excited that Shannen and Jennie were going to be on this show. I was a bit disappointed. After about the first 30 minutes, I was watching just to see Brenda and Kelly. I almost felt like I was making myself watch. I would love it if they would just bring the original cast back and center the show around them. They would be in their "30's" now, but who cares. It's hard to compare to the original. The new "Walsh" parents just down seem down to earth like Jim and Cindy were. They seem too much like LA folk to me. I should know, I live here. I plan on watching the second week and so on in hopes that things will build over time. The original wasn't perfect after the first week, it took about 5 weeks to really connect the storylines. I guess if all else fails, we have our seasons on DVD to remember the good old days!

The show was disappointing. It jumped all over the place...the first hour seemed to be a seperate show than the second. Didn't Ethan visit Naomi at the end of the first hour, tears in their eyes -- everyone else on the beach celebrating. Then wham -- back to more issues, revisiting Ethan cheating, etc. Maybe it was just edited poorly, plain & simple.

To steal from the old: tackle one or two issues at a time, keep time sense true to reality, more on Kelly/Brenda/Erin & guest stars from the past.

Not sure if it will make it long-term on the basis of the premier alone!

Actually, as I recall the series premier of the original 90210 was lame as well. I actually saw that episode again last week on soapnet and it was funny. I'm sure that received bad reviews as well. The point is, the original 90210 got better as the first season went on (I remember they introduced Dylan in the second episode) and then exploded during the summer...so maybe the same will happen with the new one although it won't ever be as huge. Hopefully, the writing will get better. However, I definately do not see a 10 year run with this one...I thought the original went on for too long.

I'm a teacher and everything rang true--a bit over the top, but that's what TV does to all truths.

I have parents making excuses for their kids. Students are found performing sexual acts all over the school in semi-public places. Kids have drug problems....And a pilot is there to set the stage for all of the future storylines--partly because the networks need to know what is to come before signing the show on.

I see promise..I hope I'm not wrong!

No No No....the new 90210 is terrible. It is nothing more than a west coast version of "Gossip Girl". I mean, come on, "the poor kids" from Kansas living in their grandma's Beverly Hills mansion, give me a break. The people in the original version of the show were much more believable and easier to relate to, despite them being rich kids. This cast is too made up (fake), they seem to be well beyond their years for a show portraying the lives of high schoolers. Well I don't think the show was that bad, I sorta liked it actually. Yahh it was WAY over the top - but for me, that's sorta what I like in a show. I do agree that they tried to pump WAY too much into the first episode...way too many story lines, but the only thing I can think is that they were trying to get people interested to come and watch again next week...and they were trying to set up the issues moving forward for the rest of the season. Hopefully, with the next episode(s) they'll focus on one story line at a time and not keep bouncing around so much...I just think they were trying to establish the characters....but overall between a scale of 1 - 10 I give it a 7.5, not bad to me and I Loved seeing Kelly and Brenda...and online they've already said it's Dylans kid and he might come back mid-season.

What planet are you from? Oral sex does not happen everyday in normal schools anyway. The show was very lame and so out of tune with real life. Can they not have a normal school with normal people that are not filthy rich and not into dress and how many people they can lay in a year.

I agree with the above poster who noticed the curly blonde hair on Kelly's son. Could be Steve's. I was as big a fan as there was back in the day. The new show moves too fast, I guess for the ADD generation, but I still liked it. I like the throw backs to the old show like having Andrea's kid (and reference to her looking like she is 30 was HILARIOUS), having the old characters back, etc. I think the grandmother is fabulous and I hope we see more of her. Fans of the old show have been out of high school for a long time and won't find a lot of common ground to enjoy with the kids on the show. The show will get its own Gossip Girl kind of following with the younger generation and those of us who lived and breathed for the next episode of the original will tune in to see the old characters. Its not worth hating. If you don't like it, don't watch it.

The show was fairly predictable, as teen dramas tend to be these days. But as someone who actually attended high school in THIS DECADE, I have seen kids acting and behaving as "audaciously" as the ones in this show. I know people who've performed sex acts on the school bus. I know people who were hooked on pills, who used fake IDs to get into clubs and whose parents were more concerned with their offspring's party than their grades.

...and if you think I'm wrong, ask your own teens.

This show won't last. It's just another teen show w/ a 90210 label stuck on. It's garbage. 100% of the actors are models. It's too perfect and off the charts to be believeable. The original 90210 had realistic looking parents and characters with a few models here and there. This is a model / fashion show - = boring.

The core of the original show, fish out of water (MN kids in Bev Hills) is not there. It won't last.

I have one comment that I think encompasses many opinions here, NONE of the the new characters are likable at all! You even want to kick the two lead characters for being so naive after the first 1/2 hour. lol. It seems as though the plot was held together with bubblegum and elmer's glue.

I enjoyed the show. It felt familiar yet new is some ways. I especially enjoyed the in house characters and hope we get to see more of Hannah. I look at the old show and say it was over the top and I loved it. This new one shows hints of it. I think we need to stop comparing it to the old 90210, because it can never be that and just enjoy it for what it is. Good campy fun.
