Two shows that would reduce air pollution if left the air-ways are CSI Miami and Law & Order SVU. The acting is sooo bad (especially from Caruso), the scripts challenge the imagination of the viewers, and the writers try to fly on the reputation of the Miami night-life. (Note: The parent of the CSI family may suffer the same cheezy acting and sophomoric writing when Grissom leaves.) The L&A SVU has not improved with age like a good wine. The story lines are more like a twist-off bottle of muscatel. Both shows are a waste of time. Leave cops where it is. It's a show that brings whole families together to watch Uncle Joe get arrested, once again.

Network TV has been so bad that I rarely watch any of it anymore. Besides having small children, which means I can't watch anything before 9, there just hasn't been anything better than cable lately. Even (gasp!) PBS seems to have better offerings than network TV. That said, I don't know what NBC was thinking about when they decided to bring back Knight Rider. Haven't watched it, don't plan to.

I'm surprised Hole in the Wall wasn't cancelled first. What a waste! At least Wipeout was funny.

These attempts to remake shows from other countries have got to stop.....The Ex-List and Kath and Kim are awful. Eleventh Hour and Worst Week are marginal without comparing them to the originals. Now they're talking about doing Absolutely Fabulous and I can imagine it will be only a matter of time before they try to adapt Primeval. Ugh.

KnightRider was one of the worst acted shows I have seen since we got a TV back in the 40s! Life on Mars was baaaaad. Eli Stone is stupid. I miss the vampire show with that cute English or Aussie guy. That was so much better than this new junk. So was New Amsterdam. And why is Friday Night Lights relegated to DirectTV? It was a good show. I contuinue to watch Mad Men for some reason. Their incessant smoking makes me choke. The show is mediocre yet wins all these awards. Wish someone would explain it. I really like Burn Notice but why does Sharon Gless have to smoke constantly - it's not a 1970s show! She can be a dip without the cigs. Closer is good. My hubby likes Sons of Anarchy - again - too much smoke. Monk makes me nervous just watching him and his jerky movements - so I won't watch it. I like SVU and Criminal Intent. I will miss Chris Noth and am not a big fan of Jeff Goldblum. When ER goes, it will be a loss. Same with Boston Legal though that is getting so didactic and ultra-liberal. But still, it is makes me smile.

Knight Rider needs to go. The only exciting thing about that show was when KITT turned into a truck.

Please, please, please get rid of Heroes. Talk about a show that just needs its audience put out of its misery. What was once somewhat intelligent show has been reduced to total cliches. Knight Rider needs to go as well.

The two shows that I'm afraid are going to die but I enjoy are Chuck and Pushing Daisies. Smart and quirky programming there that like Arrested Development before them, just really haven't found their audiences. Thank God for The Office and 30 Rock.

Wow Fran - do you know you can't get cancer from secondhand TV smoke. If it bothers you that much to see smoke that you neither breathe in or smell, you must really lose your **** when three dimensional people smoke three dimensional cigarettes. You should maybe stick to Discovery Health. All the smoking in Mad Men is absurd by today's standards, but it sure is historically accurate! I worked in an office that didn't ban smoking at one's desk until the early 80s.

What shows do I think will get cancelled? Worst Week, Kath & Kim, Eleventh Hour and The Mentalist. I tried the first episodes of both Worst Week and The Mentalist. WW was just plain awful and The Mentalist just didn't grab my attention and make me want to see what happens next.

Why all the hate for poor Eli Stone? That show is different and fun. I, for one, am looking forward to it, but I am a bit afraid that Katie Holmes is going to ruin it for me, even if she's only a guest star.

The numbers that these stupid networks only look at who's watching at the time they seriously need to take the DVR watchers. I mean everyone has way to many things to do anymore it seems like and we watch our shows when we can. I agree with the posts regarding 'Moonlight' that was a great show as was 'Jericho' and let me say CBS sux and i sure sent them some emails letting them know (lol) and just because shows don't have 40 million viewers it don't mean people aren't watching espicially when 'Moonlight was on a Friday when people are out on the town or what not. As for Knight Rider i'm a die hard Mustang person and was happy for the use of a Mustang but people that complained about the TV movie version of attack KITT from a couple months back well I hope your happy with the poop the have now for an attack KITT which looks like every BAD aftermarket thing you can do to a car oh and especially love the huge 50series 15" looking centerline wheels versus the sweet 20" black Shelby wheels originally. And come on with the 'CG' (computer generated) stuff we've come alot further than that um hello (Transformers) even the 80's show had a real car all the time.

I only watch the CSI shows, Criminal Intent, Cold Case & Without A Trace. That is it. I decided to give Eleventh Hour a try since it was after CSI. Glad I decided to tape it instead of watching it live. Bad Acting, No Chemistry, BORING. Learned the hard way. If you find a show that you love, just stick with them until they leave. Trying something new made me realize that the writers have nothing left. God I miss Cheers, NightCourt, MASH, Married With Children..I think writers should lock themselves in a room, watch these shows and learn what great TV is SUPPOSED to look like.

I agree with most of the comments - there are hardly any new shows that I make the effort to watch. Years ago I used to know exactly what night and time my favorite shows were on - not anymore. They get moved around and it's frustrating. I say, bring back Magnum PI, Matlock, Little House on the Prairie, Bonanza and Gunsmoke. For those of us who live in the country and can't get cable and can't afford a dish, 4 channels of crappy shows keeps me from being a couch potato.

It's funny...Most of the shows I have set up to record on my DVR are on cable...The only new show I've picked up on network TV this season is The Mentalist...I really like it! That was the only new show that sounded interesting enough for me to even give it a try...The others didn't even make it onto my DVR.

I know it's been on for about a million years, but I will miss ER...It stumbled for a couple of seasons, but I am really enjoying it again. I DO tend to watch more reality TV than I would care to admit, but it tends more towards the shows on Bravo, TLC, and anything on the Discovery Channel.

Watched the first episode of DND. Don't know how Fox execs could even consider airing this disaster. An embarassment to all involved. Good riddance. Although Lee Pace is a good actor with a possibly big future (elsewhere), Pushing Daisies is another "What were they thinking?" show that will likely go on indefinite hiatus sometime soon. Knight Rider was a bad idea the first time around (even though a hit). Now that almost everyone in the US has a talking car with satellite navigation what's the novelty? Why bring it back? Duh? Agree with the commenter who'd like to see the demise of reality TV. It's embarrassing awful, especially when they trot out the used-to-be stars. How sad for them.

My wife and I hated Kath & Kim. The characters were just too tacky / spoiled. I can see why it is a 30-minute show. There's nothing intelligent about it. I got a couple of laughs, but they were "that's so stupid" laughs.

I watch tv to ESCAPE the everyday blahs, but even then I don't watch that much. I like a good fantasy - Ghost Whisperer, Eli Stone. I like for my programs to be neatly wrapped up and closed at the end of the hour. Stop leaving me hanging! Serials, realities, my-life-is-worse-than-yours sorry excuses for sitcoms can all take a long hike. I have more fun watching Big Bang for the geeky dialog, and CSI for the fantasy crime solving. What can I say? I'm a closet nerd. PBS rules!

I personally really like Knight Rider, Its not really supposed to be a remake as it states... The main character is the son of David Hasselhoff's Character from the original, so its more of a continuation. I will agree that yes the acting and script need improvement if its going to stick around. Its really the only show I watch on network tv.

I absolutely think shows like American Idol and America's got talent need to go. I just think that people should work hard to get their record deal not just be handed it on tv. Its awful.

Sci-Fi's Sanctuary is turning out to be the "monster of the week" series. Amanda Tapping should have stayed with Stargate: Atlantis. At least her accent there didn't distract the viewer from the plot of the program. Her British accent is painful to listen to.

can we just cancel CBS? Is that possible? The only CSI that was ever good was the original. New York might have been good but after watching Miami and the "glasses removal" I couldnt even bring myself to turn it on. Now the original has run its course, so cancel that too.

I really liked cold case in the beginning but the personal storylines are getting to be to mushy for me, LETS STICK TO THE CRIMES, THATS WHY WE WATCH CRIME SHOWS, NOT FOR LOVE STORIES DUH.

I mostly watch Survivor, discovery, history, vh1 and any channel that is showing reruns of Law and order.

Despite being a remake Knight Rider could have been good, however it isn't. They made too many updates to the show to make it reasonable. KITT transforms for crying out loud. They tried that with Viper back in the day and it failed then what made them think that it would work now? What was so wrong with a Car that had a kickass AI? Why did that need to be updated at all? Idiots.

I haven't seen "Life on Mars" but the entire premise bores me. I don't see it making it. I would like to think "Japanese Game show" and the one about the woman looking up her ex's go too, there are a lot of really stupid shows this year. The good ones usually get canceled [Like the wonderful "Moonlight", "Shark", "Jericho" and "Women's Murder Club". "Moonlight could have been a classic. Hate CBS for their lack of patience and vision. The bad ones stay and stay so who knows?

I agree with Bob that the End of Days is here because if the return of "Knight Rider" doesn't signal end times, I don't know what does.

As for sin, the only thing "sinful" about television is that "Fringe" is so damn good, but nobody's watching. It's going to be one of those shows fans will be fighting to save by the mid-season.

(By the way, Bob, "Kath & Kim" isn't "European." It's based on an Australian show, and the last time I checked a map, Australia isn't actually in Europe.)

"Heroes" is a guilty pleasure, whenever an L&O rerun comes on, I'll watch it. They're junky, but reasonably well-acted and engrossing. And isn't that "entertainment value"?

Oh, and I can't believe nobody's mentioned "90210." That show was dead on arrival.

People, I agree with Knight Rider going, as well as Kath & Kim. Worst Week has potential and has some good interaction between the cast with good writing. Just my opinion.

The reason for all the remakes of BBC shows is simple. They worked over there. After the writer's strike of last fall/winter, the networks were way behind on the process and schedule to do pilots and research into new possibilities. Hence, they went to successful formats from our BBC to increase their odds of success since they were unable to produce pilots in time for evaluative process.

In short, due to the strike, their systme broke and they needed a band-aid until this coming year. Although, once they curtailed the budget needed to put a show on the air, we will see if they ever go back to their old, expensive format.

The best shows are on during the summer - Monk, Closer, Psych, Burn Notice, Army Wives, The Cleaner, & Amazing Grace - this is awesome comedy and drama. Very entertaining. However, since they canceled October Road, Men In Trees, and Friday Night Lights - I've kind of given up on the 3 major channels. I did like "Worst Week" - it's laugh till you cry comedy. Life is great and Eli Stone. I like quirky shows. Had it with CSI's & Law & Orders. It is time for ER and possibly Boston Legal to go - Grey's Anatomy is kind of moving slow too. My husband likes Cold Case and The Unit.

Starting a new season with TIVO is tough (only record 2 shows and view a recorded one)-- but this year it has gotten easier - quicker. I need a little help on Tuesday nights...
Oh and I ALMOST agree on Sanctuary (as awful) but the first episode was measurably better than the pilot (Ya think you'd show your best!?!??!)

I can't even believe I'm writing this, but 90210 is trying really hard and is just "not." I figure there are two sets of viewers. 30 year olds and their kids. Us older sect doesn't care about the teenagers on the show, but want the story to revolve around the old characters and drama. And, teenagers today, 90210 "drama" doesn't stand a chance against Gossip Girl. And, with only one to two hours of tv a week allowed in most households for teenages, you can bet 90210 is not on the list.

Off the top of my head shows that seriously need to go are Heroes, Fringe, 2 and a half men and all reality shows. Shows that I very much enjoy and recommend to friends are Dexter, True Blood, BattleStar and Mad Men.

To be honest I rarely watch network TV these days, I use Netflix for my programme watching enjoyment.

Knight Rider has got to be far and above the worst. Writing, directing, filming, editing and acting are absolutely terrible. It goes way beyond bad. It's a good concept, but I am dumbfounded as to how NBC could have ever agreed to put the result on the air. The original, while a bit far-fetched, was, at least somewhat, believable.

You speak the truth here, this remake is a piece of trash, everything about it was wrong and bruce davison one of my favorite actors of all time is wasted in this thing, It should be cancelled, bringing an end to the knight rider TV Franchise, hopefully.
Give us the big screen version of this to make it right and replace the mustang with the new camaro

I am kind of surprised at all the negativity concerning the British "Life on Mars". I would rank that as one of my favorite all time shows. John Simm was excellent as Sam Tyler, and Philip Glenister was unforgetable as Gene Hunt. It has really bummed me out that it is unavailable on DVD in the USA.

I think the networks don't get it. I think "According to Jim" and "Smallville" should both go. ATJ ran its course long ago, and "Smallville" is getting there. I enjoy the show, it's one of the only network shows I watch (I'd watch "90210" more if I didn't get off work at 7:00, when it's on here locally) but I think it's time the show was retired. When major stars start leaving (Lana and Lex), it's time to go.

And keep "Life on Mars"! I enjoy the trippiness, even if it takes place a few years before I was born. At least it's more comprehensive than "Journeyman", which I also liked but I think I mostly liked the "out of time" bits.

Ok, I'm gonna be weird one here and say that I like Knight Rider. Ya ok, some of the acting and stories could be better and I don't like the Sara character really at all, but it is fun. Not everything has to be so serious, I mean we have enough CSIs and Law and Orders, and all the other serious 'crime stopping' shows. I like that this one is lighter, it is about a talking car after all. And seriously, has anyone seen the old Knight Rider? I am a fan of that one too, and it's also on the corny side.

It'd just about be easier to list the stuff I don't want canceled. But I sure would like to see everything on the CW except the show with the kid whose parents sold his soul to the Devil get the axe. Particular mention can go to that stupid 90210 remake, Gossip Girl, Smallville (how is that show still on the air?) and any other show they have that I see previews for on some other network. Everything on ABC except Lost, Pushing Daisies, and Boston Legal can get the boot, with particular mention of Grey's Anatomy, Desperate Housewives, and Private Practice. All the crap on CBS Friday's. The Mentalist can go (it's just Psych from USA except suckier and with that guy I hate that was on that other CBS show that I hated) as can CSI: Miami. Kath and Kim, obviously, and Knight Rider. The Ex List, definitely. Besides being a stupid premise, the woman is fugly as Hell. I'd also be happy to see Next Top Model and that show with Heidi Klum disappear. In fact, any shows that are remotely similar can go too. All "reality" shows except Survivor and Amazing Race should be dumped - American Idol in particular. I HATE that show. Also, I'd love to see the TV Guide Channel just list channels. All of the programming is horrendous. I think it's pretty obvious where my tastes lie, so just cancel any shows that sound like something I would find offensively awful. Oh yeah, dump The Closer and Saving Grace. I'm sick of seeing commercials for them. Bring back Arrested Development and the 4400 and The Dead Zone.

I grew up in the '80s and have been a huge fan of the original Knight Rider ever since. But this new series? Oh man...I can't bear it, not even for a minute. There is no sense of friendship between KITT and Michael, and they both serve far too many masters. The writing is beyond hackneyed, and they can't even film a driving sequence without resorting to Chroma-Key. As icing on the cake, there's barely any of the Stu Phillips theme music left to be heard!

The only person in the new KR who's worth looking at is Smith Cho...

For seven years I've been steering my friends to new shows and telling which ones to avoid via a method that has become known as the Dave Pick. Dave Pick's are keepers. Something has to be really bad for it to get a mention as something to be avoided.

Dave Pick's for this season include:

Worst Week (CBS) - Nice show but the main reason folks will tune in each week is to see how much further the writes will push the lead character to get the desired response. I see it as having a good one season run and then will disappear forever.

The Big Bang Theroy (CBS) - Nerds rule in this comedy from the man behind seasons of Cybill and Roseanne. The show ahceives its goals and gives a great roup of funny, nerdy characters that make me grin whenever a new episode airs.

Dirty Sexy Money (ABC) - Night time soaps are not my cup of tea as a rule, but something about this show hooked me from the first time I viewed it. This second season so far is not quite up to par with events from the 1st season, but so far it still has that undefinded something that keeps me coming back.

Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles (FOX) - The viral website for this show sucked people in big time. With the premiere of the 2nd season the folks at FOX seem to have forgotten about they cliffhanger they left on the web with a camera that can take picture from about three years into the future. The series holds up well. Especially when you consider how it may tie in well with next summer's new Terminator film starring Christian Bale.

Fringe (FOX) - J. J. Abrams brings his wild ideas to TV again. This series started off slow, but with the episode aired two weeks ago, its ramped up the action and suspense. FOX has already given this series a full season pick-up. YAY!

Dave Picks from the past included Las Vegas (NBC) and 24 (FOX). Frankly, its sad the Las Vegas was dropped without the wrap-up it richly deserved. FOX's 24 is getting long in the tooth, without a new episode of over 18 months, fans will likely have abandoned this show. If you want to see a day in the life of Jack Bauer, this will probably be your last season to do so.

Knight Rider (NBC) - Based on the strength of the pilot, this had originally been a Dave Pick. After watching the first three episodes that have come since a staff shake up, this show is a major dog and can't leave the airwaves soon enough.

and a surprise for me, Sons of Anarchy (FX). I'm not sure about the story line, but this is the best acting I've seen on TV in years. Great cast. The networks have become mostly one big bore for me.

Give the people at History each a big poster that says "We Do History". They seem to have forgotten and have come up with their take on Reality Shows-Ice Road Truckers, Axemen, etc along with Modern Marvels. Very few real history shows this last year. (Battle 360 was very good). If production costs are too high, then I wish they would get some from Britain. Most of the European Wars have not been covered. Most of the American Civil War Battles haven't been covered yet either-just the same handful over and over.

Haven't caught new Night Rider, yet, or any other new shows for that matter, but with all the negative talk, it sounds like I won't need to try to watch them anyway.

The shows I most enjoy are Chuck, Heroes, My Name is Earl, the Office, 30 Rock, ER, and Lost. I like Grey's Anatomy, but it's on at the same time as the better written NBC shows, and I unfortunately can't DVR two shows at once, so NBC wins.

Any reality show, from Survivor to those horrible MTV/VH1 shows need to be cancelled NOW. They're nothing but TRASH. Anyone that watches them needs to have their head examined!

P.S. Eli stone is a cute show, too!

Worst Week jumped the shark at the first potty joke, urinating in the turkey. But it was lame from the first scene. The BBC version at least shows a little class. Kath and Kim was a snooze from the start and then went downhill. You can almost hear the pitch for Eleventh Hour: "It's like Bones but with the guy as the science geek and the girl as the FBI agent..." Patrick Stewart's version wouldn't translate well for a US audience but at least it has competent actors and a resemblance of a plot. Knight Rider's only flaw is that it's a remake of a show everyone mocked at the time. But the original was aimed at fourteen-year-old boys, the remake seems as if it's aimed at fans of the original. Fans who eventually grew up, both in maturity and taste, though the writer's seem to have forgotten that in the real world, people age.

I just get interested in a show, maybe not excited, but at least interested, and its gone for 9 months. What crap is that? I very rarely follow a show to a second season anymore because 9 months later I have forgotten all about it. I just found out Life was on again this season. I haven't even seen it advertised. If I hadn't been flipping thru the channels for the heck of it because of all the lame crap on, I never would have caught the 4th episode. Its a good thing I know where to find back episodes or I'd be pissed. I liked New Amsterdam, but knew it would never survive. Knight Rider, 90210 what were they thinking. I've been going back to the 80's for some good stuff. While not up to snuff with some of the current good shows out, I'm watching Remington Steele, Rip Tide, Macguyver, etc. While they are classics of the big hair days of TV shows, the current crop of dreck offered by ABC,CBS,NBC make those shows look like the pinnacles of TV talent.

Not remotely funny, and the only thing that would possibly save it would be for Molly Shannon to fall into a fake wall, jump up, fling her arms in the air, and say "Superstar!" Come to think of it, while that would double the show's humor, it still wouldn't be enough to make it watchable. I can't believe I downloaded the pilot to my TiVO before it actually aired. I really liked Moonlight, too. I also like the Closer. But I find it difficult to stay involved in a series when it's on for only 4-6 weeks, then gone for 3-4 months, or even more. I never know if it's canceled or coming back. The seasons are not like they used to be. There are shows that I've forgotten about and then I see them on another night or another channel. I don't understand what they are trying to accomplish. When they have their "ratings weeks" when they bring on all the new shows they will have 3 good shows up agains each other on one night and nothing on another night. This doesn't make sense to me. But what do I know, I've only been watching tv for about 40 years.

Get rid of all so-called reality shows. ALL of them, except for a handful of game shows. Do you all realize that Flava-Slave is on at least three of those atrocious things? Get rid of the survivors, factors, judges, cops arresting people shows, the houses, and the models.

Maybe they'll do a sequel based on the boys Wyatt and Chris, with cameos by Holly Marie Combs, Alyssa Milano and Rose McGowan. The writing on that show and the way it ended ws so good. A great alternative to cop and doctor shows. sigh...

Wow, Moonlight must have been one of those shows that had a weak pilot and then got better, because I see a lot of positive comments on it.

As for shows that need to go, I have to agree with CSI Miami. How many times can Caruso come up with a pithy statement, put on his sunglasses and walk away and get away with calling that acting. It does however have the best looking women of the franchise.

ER jumped the shark so long ago that every year I am suprised that it is back on.

I am willing to give Life On Mars another shot as there were a few compelling things that I saw in it. But it could easily go bad very quickly.

I think every Law and Order spin off stunk even before the original went away, so SVU can be axed with fanfare.

And every reality show on TV should be cancelled, the tapes gathered up and burned in a bonfire by the writer's guild.

I've read wll the postings, (yes, I was that bored.) and some of the posts make excellent points. I haven't spent any time watching network TV for something like 10 years and since i'm only 26, that's saying something. I almost started watching again when they came out with Moonlight, and I grabbed that show on the net. The fact that it got cancelled, along with the changes in the CSI cast, was what truly drove the nail into the coffin of network TV. I despise anything with a laugh track, as well as any reality TV anyone comes up with regardless of the network. I also wonder when the History channel will actually have history programming again. Along with our Aussie poster, I wonder why the networks are stealing BBC shows. Not only are they remaking them, but they're doing it badly. If they want BBC programs, then either use the original BBC show or sell themselves to BBC entirely. Better yet, start listening to your viewers.

I'm a little surprised at all the hate for 11th Hour and Sanctuary. Neither of the shows is exactly Shakespeare, but both remind me of early X-Files. Kind of rough, but with lots of potential.

The American Life On Mars isn't quite as good as the original, but it's a damn sight better than most of the garbage we are fed by the networks. Harvey Keitel is doing a pretty good job as the Gene Genie.

I wholeheartedly agree that ALL of that reality garbage needs to be pulled from the airwaves, starting with Survivor!

Network execs, for Pete's sake, buy some decent scripts, and for the love of all that's holy, give them more than 3-4 episodes to find their groove!

Oh, and for those bagging on Life On Mars, the first episode was basically a line-for line remake of the first ep of the original.

Someone at CBS needs to lose their job for canning Jericho. That was possibly the single best TV show in years. At this point, I'd settle for a series of movies to continue the story. If works for Tom Selleck's Jesse Stone, so why not for Jericho?

'Til Death has jumped the shark with the firing of the Woodcocks (Eddie Kaye Thomas and Kat Foster)--it also lost the entire premise of the show, which was to contrast the old married couple to the newlyweds. It won't last beyond this season.

Thinking more and more it is a shame that Gilmore Girls and Judging Amy were dropped. When the Palladinos left writing/directing Gilmores, the show lost something but not a lot. I watch the reruns and the dialogue is just the best. It never fails to bring a smile. And "JA" was terrific. Not another mystery, not another crime show. Something special. I wish they'd bring both back just to complete the story lines.

Speaking of British TV shows, what about all the British actors. Sarah Conner, Mentalist, Life, Moonlight, etc. - so many great American actors not working and so many Brits working on our TV shows.

In response to tb in Illisois : 'Can't we go back to the Star Trek Model. They were exploring new wordls, all the charecters stayed the same, new day different planet.'

Isn't the point of watching these shows and becoming somewhat invested in the charecters;to watch them grow and change. If they stayed the same over the course of several/many seasons it would get VERY VERY boring. So if you just can't handle character development, and growth, maybe you should try watching Nickelodeon where they just don't pay attention to those little details. And let the grown ups watch the big people shows.

Til Death needs to be killed now. The show was interesting when Eddie and Joy contrasted with the Woodcocks. But without the woodcocks the character's are just annoying. CBS Monday night lineup (Big Bang, HIMYM, and 2.5 Men) is the only set worth watching.

Television has gone to the dogs. Models, dancing fools, all kinds of reality shows are just garbage. People want to see something that they can get excited about. Years ago I'd wait all week to see the next episode of Cheers or Archie Bunker and the friday night movie. Quality and good taste has been replaced with Paris Hilton and idiotic shows like hers. To make matters worse we only get to watch 5 minutes of a show and then about 5 of commercials. The election news in the States is more exciting than most of the shows I see here in Canada.

Ok, I like Eli Stone, I love Monk. I hate all reality shows, they all need to go. Can't stand America's Next Top Model, I can tolerate Dancing with the Stars. CSI SVU and Boston Legal are ok with me. I thought I liked Pushing Daisies when it first came out, but I notice that when I try to watch it now, I start to itch! Don't you dare touch Ugly Betty. I work in advertising/retail world, and can relate! I wish King Of Queens had made new episodes. That was the one show that could make me spew milk out of my nose!

Man vs. Wild... WHY WHY WHY does anyone need to know how to drink water from elephant dung in the wilds of - well, somewhere?? At least Survivorman doesn't bite the heads off of live animals. And, you know, just like with Jacka$$, someone is bound to say, "oh I can do this" and wind up maimed or dead. I haven't watched ER in years - there are no characters to pull me in like Noah Wyle or Anthony Edwards and haven't been in years. I will watch it this season to see the cameo appearances by old staffers, though.

I agree totally on MOONLIGHT! It quickly became an all time favorite of my family and we are really disappointed in CBS. I love CSI Miami and David Caruso! Tyra Banks, Oprah, and Dr Phil need to go! These talk shows in the daytime have run their course! I also agree on Sanctuary, it is terrible, even for the sci-fi channel. Another great show that was canceled was Invasion. We sure miss that one too.

Like a lot of people here, I MISS MOONLIGHT!!! I will say that Pushing daisies is bizzar, but I love to hear Jim Dale (voice of all the Harry Potter books) narrate. I used to love Til' Death, but they've changed the whole premise of the show and got rid of the neighbors. I MISS THE WOODCOCKS!!! I'm also not happy about them re-tooling Desperate Housewives. After having my heart broken by CBS with the cancelation of Moonlight last year (it sounds like I'm not the only one), I haven't watched one new show this season. I'm patiently waiting until Friday Night Lights makes its way back to regular tv (it is, isn't it?). The jury is still out for me on Desperate Housewives. I have two episodes on my DVR at the moment and I can't say I'm all that excited to watch them. On the positive side, I have a lot more free time with all of this less than stellar television programming!

I know we're supposed to list the shows that need to go, but I honestly haven't seen anything much on TV that deserves to stay. I haven't watched any of the titles on the original listing. Try e mailing CBS about "Moonlight" and see if they'll reconsider. Also, if you want something fun to watch, try Discovery's "Man versus Wild". Bear Grylls has a lot of fun getting into and out of various survival situations. Then he takes off his shirt.....

I generally stay away from sitcoms, so I haven't seen any really bad TV yet. I'm just glad "NCIS" and "Criminal Minds" are still going strong and that "Bones" is on at a time I can watch it. Since they changed the team on "House" it hasn't been worth watching - I say dump it. And I could watch CSI Miami if they'd get rid of Caruso. But I really wish they'd bring back "Cane" from last season with Jimmy Smits. He is beautiful and the show was decent too.

Hardly some of you people are clearly nuts. Why would anyone cancel Desperate Housewives or Brother & Sisters? Perhaps you should try watching more then one episode of show before making comments.
Ex-List is not that bad of a show, better then MoonLight, the lead actor was frankly a horrible actor that's why Moonlight didn't work.
Life on Mars is also a good show. British and American shows that are "the same" can co-exist and not be carbon copies of each other. I have a hard time believing that the country that watches Dancing with the Star actually watches alot of BBC.
As for what I think should be cancelled, Smallville and Kath&Kim.

Tried Knight Rider for nostalgia's sake and turned it off after 10 minutes - dreadful. Eleventh Hour and My Own Worst Enemy seem so-so. May give them another try, but probably won't end up watching them. Wish they hadn't cancelled Cane and Shark. Life is excellent - really enjoy it. Psych and Eureka are great as well.

I actually pay attention in preseason to those previews for new series, and quite frankly I can tell which ones are going to be positively awful and can avoid them (such as DND and Kath & Kim). I'm with the critic who said the news of remaking Knight Rider should be all the news we need to know about how terrible it is. So I haven't watched much new TV this fall.

As for continuing shows....I say cancel any new show that is a remake of a show from another country! If it's so darn good in Australia or England or elsewhere, why do you need to REMAKE it? Bring the series over here and show the original on network TV. Also, put 'Friday Night Lights' out of its misery. It's a good show, but the public has already said they won't watch and the American public has a particular resentment against TV critics attempting to ram a show they like down our collective throats simply because THEY like it (hear that, Arrested Development?).

As for 'Brothers & Sisters', it has a great cast of great actors, and I hate it. It's a bunch of people whining 'what about my needs?' for an hour and adults trying to out-juvenile each other on their behavior. Sorry, we were forced to endure this for many years with 'Thirtysomething' because the critics liked it, there's no need to revisit that again.

Reality TV is unreality for me. It's mostly a lot of hyper-dramatic nonsense that serves as a vehicle to allow so-called ordinary people to behave stupidly in front of a national television audience. Tried to watch the premiere of Knight Rider, but couldn't get past the cheese. I'm sure Val Kilmer enjoys the challenge of siting in a voice-over booth mouthing pithy lines for a paycheck, but the show seems to be an excuse for the Transformers style CG morphing that occurs every two minutes. Watched a few episodes of Life this fall; not bad. It's not gonna make me miss Vincent D'Onofrio in L&O:CI, but Damian Lewis is just odd enough to be engaging. Speaking of L&O:CI, looking forward to catching an episode featuring new detective Jeff Goldblum. Talk about quirky! Goldblum and D'Onofrio in an episode together would probably make my head explode, though. Fell in love with Chuck last year and continue to enjoy it. Just starting to watch Heroes; I fear it's going to become so convoluted for me that I'll lose interest, but maybe not. Thursday night comedy lineup on NBC is my favorite night right now. Not sure if I care about Lost or 24 anymore, they've been gone for so long. Watched My Own Worst Enemy premiere last night. Not too bad. Try to keep Christian Slater's eyebrows from arching too often and you might have yourselves a show. By the way, why, in the real world, would so many super-secret spy outfits operate out of Los Angeles? Seems to me that it would create something of a jurisdictional nightmare, what with all these spies and quirky LA cops tripping over one another.

I haven't tuned in to watch anything new this season on the major networks. All the good shows I watched were cancelled. Rome..loved it. HBO cancelled it due to costs of production. Blood Ties..wasn't a match for Lifetime. Then Moonlight. Why bother? Reality tv is cheap crap they keep forcing down our throats. Turn off the tv and let them feel a viewer recession.

OMG...Til Death is so bad that it actually kills any show that comes close to it. Back To You was SOOOO funny and they put it with Til Death and it was cancelled. The War At Home was probably the funniest non-animated show on TV and guess what...they put it with Til Death and it was cancelled. Kind of ironic that a show called Til Death seems to cause so much of it.

Also, Prison Break. Once they're out of prison doesn't the name seem a bit ridiculous?

It's like someone working on those shows has pictures of a Fox executive playing golf with satan or something.

I miss Moonlight..that was a show worth watching - and Tivo-ing..day of the week matters not..I loved the original Kath and Kim..and I have to say..as much as I love the actors playing them - they just dont do the trick - the show isnt going to work..sad..

However I love Pushing Daisies - dont mess w/ that or Grey's Anatomy - although get the writers to do a little research..what the heck were they doing w/ all that time off anyway - no operating room has acoustical ceiling tile - find a consultant...pul-leaze..

another great show lost - Journeyman - think you are going to use "life on mars" to replace it?..I wont even bother to watch..

I am liking the Ex-List and Valentine - but only as mindless fluff - kinda like the books you read that are the equivilant of junk food..all empty calories..but filler none the less..

Criminal Minds and Medium - top favorites as well..and we can lose every reality show out there in the world EXCEPT Project Runway and Top Chef...I draw the line there..

I was done with the new season before it even started - I don't watch reality TV at all, don't have cable or satellite (I refuse to pay for TV), and was so disappointed in CBS for cancelling Moonlight, I didn't even try to watch The Ex-List (from the comments posted it seems I haven't missed much). Other than NCIS, Smallville and CSI (which will lose me after it loses Grissom), I spend my evenings with DVDs of old TV shows - MASH, Magnum PI, Miami Vice, Remington Steele - or old movies - or I just read. I've managed to put a decent dent in the book pile by my couch.

I did try to watch the Mentalist - woke up in time to see the end credits.

This Kath and Kim remake is one of the poorest quality remakes I have had the non-privelege to see. The story is based on stupid australian dero bogan type people, it cant be adapted to american lifestyles, producers were just looking to make a quick buck.

Can "The Unit" go away now? After last season's bad ending, followed by the wives getting involved this year, can it just go away. And my husband loves that show and I hate it.

Kath and Kim is baaaaaaaaaad. It needs to be cancled. NOW.

The only network TV shows worth watching are Knight Rider and Smallville. Everything else is crap!
