I watched Walberg's appearance on Jimmy Kimmel and, expletives aside, it was clear to me that he was joking about "punching Samberg in the nose". I'm surprised anyone thinks he is taking this so seriously.

Not many people seem to understand that MARK WAHLBERG has been trying for a long time now to get away from his Marky Mark persona. I think he is angry because during a time when he should be known for being MAX PAYNE people still see him as Marky Mark.

I have really enjoyed watching him as an actor--he was so great in The Departed, and I'm sure will continue to do more great work. I do think he was joking on Jimmy's show, but he does seem to take himself a bit too seriously. Being able to really laugh at yourself is one of life's great pleasures.

This is a publicity stunt. Mark was not angry you can clearly see that he said it in a joking manner. I don't see him as Marky Mark anymore he truly is talented his movies speak for themselves. I haven't seen the sketch, or Wahlberg's interview - nor have I seen SNL since 1980. I've seen bits and pieces of the over the years, but I stopped watching it long ago. To that point, I do agree with Wahlberg, in that the show stopped being funny decades ago.

As goofy as it was, the sketch was a brilliant impersonation. If you close you eyes, it is pretty darn close. They were not making fun of his "Marky Mark" persona. But even if they were, embrace it. More than likely, he would not be where he is today without that start. As for the threats and expletives on JK, I am pretty sure he was joking. But it is so hard to tell. He always has such an intense look on his face. All in all, I think it is great publicity for him right now. "Max Payne" is not getting the best reviews and "Entourage" is hurting. However, he is still hot and I still love him, even though he is being somewhat of a baby about it. :)

Mark Wahlberg is a fine actor and I consider his anger to be misdirected into something else. Once he relaxes and doesn't take things too seriously, he will see that life is all about unfair. All seriously aside, I enjoyed his Calvin Klein commercials -- he has a body and should have thought twice about bare all of that if he wanted to have himself considered seriously. Time will tell....

Wahlburg SUCKED in The Departed, he seems incapable of any subtleness in his acting. I liked him best in his earlier roles, such as The Basketball Diaries and Boogie Nights, but since he became a "star" he seems more wooden and lame than ever. I don't expect I will have any desire to see "Max Payne", I just don't think Wahlberg is a person who can carry a movie, he's better suited as a role player like he was in The Perfect Storm.

That all being said, the SNL skit was a typical one-joke pony, Samberg's impression was pretty funny, and only Wahlberg's seeming petulance is making that skit live beyond the short shelf life it would have had.

It looks like it will be even more hysterical if Mark Wahlberg really does do an impression of Samberg doing an impression of him on SNL this weekend like he has said in an interview. Look how much press Mark is getting and now the bonus of being on SNL...being miffed about it is definitely a publicity stunt, and a good one.
