Now Jim has been killed on Ghost Whisperer, for no reason that I can determine. If an actor wants out, why not just have his character relocate? Then he/she could come back for "visits" if he/she were willing. On Ghost Whisperer, if Jim is indeed truly dead, I expect viewship to decline rapidly. That relationship was the mainstay of the series, and, I'm sorry, Melinda and Jim's ghost just won't work out.

Which dead characters should return to TV?

I would love to see Denny come back on Grey's. Libby-just cuz Hurley liked her and she liked him. And now the man in the coffin who was on the season finale-I will not spoil it for you who may have missed it.

On Ghost Whisperer-I've known for the past 2 seasons that the husband Jim was a goner, but last season's Jay Mohr would have been a better post-Jim person for Melissa than is the new guy who hears (but can't see) ghosts. He is obviously a last-minute replacement, as Jay Mohr has (had? Prison Break because deaths are unexpected and sometimes important characters, and always at the beginning of a season. This means you've had a whole year to not care about them, which makes their death mean nothing that early on despite the fact you don't want to see them die, it just feels out of place.

Heroes killing of characters is just stupid because you never know if they're dead, and the writers abuse their power of being able to bring back anyone at anytime way too much to make the show give you that emotional hook. Heroes is like the boy who cried wolf, once you've killed off 12 main characters and brought all of them back, when you actually do kill off a character, it's about 6 episodes later before you realize 'Wait, so that person actually died?' That definitely loses the emotional effect of a main character dying.

Which dead characters should return to TV?

How about 95% of the cast of "24"? It's hard getting to the point of caring about a character on that show, only to have them blown-up, shot, stabbed or infected with some lethal virus a few weeks later.

Which dead characters should return to TV?

President David Palmer on 24. The show has suffered since he left!

Which dead characters should return to TV?

Kate on NCIS was the most shocking one I remember in a long time. And those who are wishing for Charlie to come back on LOST, remember that we never saw him die. The water was filling up but the cut away before death. And on an island where death does not seem very final...

Which dead characters should return to TV?

Tosh and Owen from "Torchwood", of course that would make it twice for Owen!

Which dead characters should return to TV?

They need to bring back Melinda's husband, Jim from Ghost Whisperer. I think it would be wonderful to show that she'd redeemed her life and was following in her father's footsteps!

Lost: Charlie.

I also like some of the other suggestions re: Prison Break (Peter Stormare's character) and Heroes, but don't watch any of the CSI's, Housewives, Gray's Anatomy, Office, or Medium so can't comment on those shows.

Which dead characters should return to TV?

Southpark already has mastered the OMG..."They killed Kenny" and bring him back week after week!

Which dead characters should return to TV?

Is Mr. Bill still alive, to do a guest appearance on SNL?

Which dead characters should return to TV?

How about an entire cast?? Arrested Development was the best show on TV nobody watched. Everyone from the great Jeffrey Tambour to Henry Winkler as the Lawyer...it was just great stuff...I think being on Fox killed it.

Which dead characters should return to TV?

Tony Soprano!!!

Which dead characters should return to TV?

What about the one character I was so mad was killed off on "24" - Tony. Oh WAIT...even though we saw him (supposedly) dead on the floor in the medical wing, cradled in Jack's arms, he is the NEW VILLAIN on next season.

Which dead characters should return to TV?

I've never been the same since Mr. Hooper died on Sesame Street. At any rate, it was a case of poor plot development IMO, and I think series should "kill off" characters as a last resort. This isn't "Star Trek" where people were brought back from the dead on a regular basis.
