Rosie is a courageous thoughtful human with opinions, as we all have and are entitled to, under the United States Constitution. If you only listen to people who espouse your opinions, how will you know what the rest of the world is thinking? "The View" is a program of discussion, debate, and entertainment. Every criticism of Rosie's mornings on "The View" were inaccurate - I watched and listened - Fox News reported her comments out of context and sometimes blatantly lied; it seems she has more power than she realizes to have so-called heavy-weights taking time to belittle her and her views. What exactly are they afraid of? Rosie is a comic and a personality. She didn't persuade viewers to think anything, except perhaps that people might differ in their opinions. Get over yourself and spend time listening to Rush Limbaugh if you want someone who spouts real poison. The View will never be as lively or entertaining without Rosie; by the way, 'entertainer' is spelled with an "e".

Ring around the Rosie

OK, I normally don't respond to this kind of stuff, but I teach high school kids, and when they exhibit this kind of thinking it drives me nuts. There is a difference between trying to "persuade the viewers to feel and believe what she felt and believed" and expressing her OWN opinion for the sake of discussion. Remember the concept of honest discussion? We used to believe in it before the days of "beat me over the head and tell me what to think" talk radio (from BOTH sides). I would guess that Rosie fully expected people to have the backbone and strength of character to listen, think and evaluate, and then decide for themselves whether they agreed or disagreed with her. For Pete's sake, just because someone says something on the air doesn't mean they expect everyone listening to baa like sheep and nod their heads in agreement. You throw things out there into the mix so that there is a HEALTHY exchange of ideas, some of which will be in direct opposition to your own. That's called the exercise of free speech in a healthy society. There is far too little of that going on today, and I will miss having my comfort zone challenged by Rosie from time to time.

Ring around the Rosie

I am also sad to see Rosie leave the View. While there may have been some disputes in her contract, judging by the nervous, "aren't we all great pals?" performance she and Barbara Walters put on this morning, I'm sure there was more to it than that. (Joy Behar, by contrast, looked like she'd won the New York State lottery! I enjoyed her knowing smirk.) Perhaps Rosie's tasteless rampage at the Women In Communications dinner held Monday evening--less than 48 hours before her supposed "contract dispute"--let Barbara Walters see for herself just what people think of her friend. Using obscenities and crude sexual humor at a professional dinner is bad enough, but 17 high-school-age girls were also in attendance that night. Rosie spares no one her rage, her contempt, her wrath. She is a loose cannon who could keep several therapists gainfully employed. Barbara Walters' image is forever tarnished to me by welcoming this loser to "The View." I will be THRILLED to see Rosie go. And I'll bet we'll see very little of her ever again, on "The View" or anywhere else. I could never stand Rosie. I'm glad that she is leaving THE VIEW. She is not very well informed on most of the subjects she talks about. She's just loving listening to herself talk.
I have found her to represent the very lowest common denominator:crass, vulgar, inarticulate, undereducated, narrow-minded, rabble-rouser..like Sharpton:not helping, not part of the solution, just trouble-inducing, invective spewing low-class.
I couldn't be more happier that the "BIG MOUTH" is leaving that show. I use to watch "The View" but quit since the "BIG MOUTH" has been on it. She's ignorant and who cares about the "BIG MOUTH'S" opinion anyway. It doesnt mean diddly squat anyway. Listening to her is like listening to a donkey bray. Good riddence "BIG MOUTH". It'll be very nice not to have to listen to you anymore.
When Rosie was signed to the view, I decided that the show had gone to the dogs. Needless to say that without watching it she is still plastered in our faces through news and sensationalistic journalism. I am glad she was finally let go regardless what either party says. She will never be someone whether as a celebrity or as a US citizen who is worth an ounce of the freedom of speech that is taken for granted by people like her. Good Riddance!!
O'Donnell is a loudmouthed, ignorant, no talent that can't stand criticism She tries to shout down any opposition to her cherished opinion. I don't bother tuning in most days to hear the same old big mouthed crap.
During the past year since Rosie has been on the View, I have watched in horror as she spouted her poison and voiced her "opinions". She is supposed to be an intertainer. Instead, she used her platform to persuade the viewers to feel and believe what she felt and believed. I am very happy to hear that she is leaving.

She was smart and stood up for her beliefs, beliefs that Hollywood hates. I have lost all respect for Barbara Walters. She was Rosie's lap dog and I truly believe was and is afraid Rosie. The way she defended Rosie, has stained her legacy and now she will have to live with this. I don't for one moment think Ms. Walters condoned the hateful things Rosie was spewing out. I think she was afraid of her and this has people all over the internet talking about Barbara and how she treated Rosie in comparison to her treatment of Star Jones. It seems when people express their faith, they are immediatly hated. I remember all the times when Joy B. told Rosie to " keep your faith to yourself." Star understood this bias and always was humble and polite to these hateful remarks Joy through at her. Maybe 1 hour a day is okay, however, to have to listen to her opinion all the time would be quite frankly exhausting. There is a difference between expressing your own point of View and screaming it at the top of your lungs to make sure everyone hears what you have to say. I watched her when she had her own show and thoroughly enjoyed her. Over the years, she has become a very hateful, hard woman. Hasselbeck could not possibly have been considered even a semi-equal match to ol' "Shout-down" Rosie- which is why she's probably there: appeasement to the Right, but not informed or assertive enough to make a decent argument. George Bush took care of that 7 years ago. I'm not sure if anybody can put the country back together after this administration.

"She will never be someone whether as a celebrity or as a US citizen who is worth an ounce of the freedom of speech that is taken for granted by people like her. Good Riddance!! "

Why shouldn't free speech be taken for granted? I fail to understand your logic.

"Everyone loves Freedom of Speech... until they don't agree with what's being said."

Sometimes people say things that make me sick, but I wholeheartedly stand behind their right to say it.

Recently, a young man in Boulder, CO was arrested for saying he could understand how someone could snap and kill 32 people (in reference to the VA TECH shooting).
Yes, ARRESTED. FOR TALKING. Freedom of speech? Does it really exist?

Ring around the Rosie

Rosie is a comedian? I have never seen an episode of The View but have enjoyed the controverseys Rosie created. Unfortunately, we are in a very dangerous cycle in our country where we seem to want to shoot the messengers of words that we do not agree with. I hope that Rosie finds a platform for her views as, like Imus before he was silenced, she spurs talk, debate and thought.

Added thought about the Imus thing. He was fired because of the advertisers backed away from NBC. Interesting that Proctor and Gamble, the manufacturer of Tide, was one of the first to vocally pull away. This happened a few weeks after Imus' wife launched her non toxic laundry detergent and Don had been naming Tide as a product that was unhealthy for the environment and humans.

Hmmm.

The fact that she actually expresses "her VIEW" makes those that disagree feel uncomfortable. Rosie is an example of what makes America great....free speech. Those that want to silence her are the ones that we should all fear. The sheep that allow the government to dictate their lives to them and yet blindly follow these so-called leaders need to receive a blood transfusion from Rosie in hopes that it would give them some stones to begin thinking for themselves. Wake Up America! Rosie may not be the "package" that the old, uptight, wealthy, whitebread men in DC want to see creating intelligent debate amongst the rest of the world, but thank goodness for the rest of us, even though she has chosen to leave The View, I seriously doubt that this move will muzzle her. I'm sure that trash-talking men like Trump and O'Reilly are disappointed that she is leaving. How else will they get their ratings?

Rosie, I hope you do whatever the hell you want to do, when you want to do it. Do it LOUD! Do it PROUD! Do it knowing that you have our support 100%! I, for one, will probably not watch after her departure. Rosie shoved the show from vapid girly-girl conversation that sometimes veered onto real topics into a topical, real, intelligent conversation among women. A show such as that is sorely lacking on television and sadly, probably will be again with her exit. ABC is making a mistake not accepting the one-year contract and shows that they're not wholly supportive of Rosie, despite their comments otherwise.

Ring around the Rosie

Controversy brings ratings. I really hate to say it but it is true. It is like riding down a highway and seeing a bad car accident. Are you going to drive away? Of course not. You will a) want to know what happened, and b)if anyone is alive and needs a medic or is dead

Rosie brought controversy to the table even if her views were one sided and her behavior was immature at times. However, with regards to Trump, she is a comic. Poking fun at people is what they do. But she can go a bit overboard.

Ring around the Rosie

Rosie gone from the View? That's not a surprise! But Donald Trump gone from anything he can put his "not so pretty face" on would be worth partying over! Obviously Earth doesn't need to revolve around him.

It seems to be Joy, Barbara, and Rosie versus Elizabeth. I wonder if my "view" is underrepresented because they represent what Hollywood believes. And I am from hometown America. It makes me feel that I am the minority, but maybe more of you agree with my view than "The View" represents. Additionally, I don't have a problem with opposing viewpoints. I appreciate that they make me think. But I do ask for RESPECT. I think most of the time, Rosie lacked that. She monopolized the conversation most of the time and she is crass. (Merideth was always classy, but still made me think.) If I was having a debate, I would at least treat others with respect and give them time to speak. Let's face it, "The View" became the Rosie Show 2. I would love to see an analysis of the percentage of the time she talked as opposed to the other ladies. I would love some lively debate next season, but could we get more views? (I was kind of hoping that after we lost Star and Merideth, this would happen.) 4 women should be able to usually give us 4 points of view, instead of only 2... And as far as Rosie being a comedienne, Joy is the one that consistantly takes that role. You can expect that her point will be funny, even if you don't agree. Rosie was harsh, with a little funny thrown in.

Ring around the Rosie

The View had the best group ever with Barbara, Meredith, Joy, Star and Elizabeth.
