The teaser trailer for Shane Acker's '9', produced by Tim Burton looks to be an outstanding vision and a serious contender against Pixar. Then again, '9' does not seem like it caters to the same demographic (Pixar = G; '9' = PG or PG-13). For those interested, please check out the trailer at Apple's website or go googling for Shane Acker's short film (YouTube or otherwise) that gave birth to the full length film. It can only be described as a touch of Pan's Labyrinth, with heavy parts LittleBigPlanet and Fallout 3 to finish. Sounds crazy, but it looks like it works... in spades.

I would like less sequels. While some I drool over (talkin' to you, Wolverine!) others I want to run from (Night at the Museum, Transformers). Ice Age again? I got news for all you dinosaur tyoe movies---you're all doomed no matter how many times you come back on screen. While a sequel (of sorts), I eagerly await Salvation just because of Bale! All's Bale that ends Bale!

It'll be a nice layover in waiting for The Man Who Killed Don Quixote to come out in 2067.

The 2009 movie I'm most excited about is The Princess and the Frog. It's Disney's first traditionally animated fairy tale since the 90s. It will star Princess Tiana, the first ever black Disney Princess. The movie is supposed to come out late 2009. I can't wait!

We Minnesotan's are (reluctantly) looking forward to "New In Town" with Renee Zellweger suddenly being relocated from Miami to New Ulm, Minnesota ... a real town "affectionatly" referred to by the marketers the "middle of nowhere", though it's 1 hour from Minneapolis.

Although the writers apparently missed the 80+ degree summers and think we all live in 24x7 winters and dress like a redneck Michelin Man with some bizarre accent, Renee's sight gags do look pretty entertaining....

Personally, I'm looking forward to "Night at the Museum 2" and "Harry Potter 6". NATM was really unfairly trounced by critics. It was a fun fantasy, very funny, and made me like Ben Stiller for the first time ever (I've always been a big fan of Robin Williams, and Owen Wilson was awesome). It's one of the few movies less than two years old that I own on DVD (along with Mummy 3 and Across the Universe).

Of the movies listed above I'm most interested in seeing The Lovely Bones (loved the book), Star Trek (mostly to see Simon Pegg as Scotty and Zachary Quinto as Spock) and the Tarantino flick (I didn't know he had a new one coming out and now I'm really intrigued).

I've only seen a brief trailer for Coraline but it looks like it might be worth my hard-earned money.

Watchmen is probably the only movie I´m looking forward to in 2009. I just got done reading the comic book and it blew my mind away. Can the makers of the movie match what Alan Moore put down on paper?
Also Avatar, James Cameron´s return to the big screen. I always loved everything that Cameron put on film! From The Abyss to Terminator 2, he´s out of this world!

I found the original Dorian Gray movie with a then 18yr old Angela Lansbury riveting when I was a teenager (40yrs now). I look forward to seeing if the new one will measure up to that classic.

I grew up with horror fliks like the Howling, My Bloody Valentine, Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, (Loved Rob Zombies remake of Halloween,) and Friday the 13th so i can't wait for the release of the new Friday the 13th. Also cannot wait for My Bloody Valentine 3D. Then in 2010 the new Nightmare on Elm Street. This is going to be a good year. HELL YEAH!!!

I am looking forward to 'The Imaginarium of Doctor Parnassus'. This truly is the last film that Heath Ledger starred in and I wouldn't miss it for anything! Thanks to the three actors who stepped up and filled in the 'alter' roles that Heath would've done so the movie could be saved.
