The women all have their pluses and minuses (except Susan, who needs to be dropkicked into a volcano), but the one who I enjoy and root for most is Edie. She's the right mix of sassy and sour with a dash of sweet, but she isn't drowning in the bubble bath of lies and phoniness that plagues the rest. Granted she's more of a supporting character and suburban fakery is what the show is all about, but her brash and often painful honesty is refreshing.

I wholeheartedly agree with you on the Lynette thing. She is a scary human being! I truly don't know how Tom stays with her.
I loved the husbands getting together for that garage band, with the exception of Dave. I sure hope he kills boring Katherine & gets sent away soon!

Carlos did switch them, he claimed it was his mom so Gabby would stop hating him. She calls the pharmacy and finds out that the extra pills were ordered when his mom was already in a coma so Juanita couldn't have done it.

The only characters I really like are Tom, Carlos, Orson and Bree and Gabby to some extent.

I used to like Lynette, but they've warped her. I liked her when she didn't want to be a stay at home mom, and I liked her when she had a career and he was the stay at home dad. I stopped liking them as a couple when they got the restaraunt and she started being mean.

The show is getting boring, but I have to agree that Susan and Lynette aren't very good for the show. Gaby needs to learn how to be a mom......liked her better before they had kids. She was sasy and fun to watch and now it's boring.

i think bree is the most interesting to me... i like lynette's soap box moments and gaby is just adorable and i enjoy her lil antics with carlos and the kids. susan... well i won't even get into her because her neediness pushes all the wrong buttons with me. and edie has some many layers to her character because just when i want to hate her she exposes something that explains her actions, but hands down bree is my favorite... she is the most real to me because she tries to make everything look fine and well put together when at times she is falling apart at the seams and that's the most realistic to me. most housewives try to keep on a public display of functionality when they are actually one offset gear from exploding.

When I've watched Desparate Housewives, it seemed to be a tamer version of the BBC's "Footballer's Wives" - and like so many American versions of British shows, not very good. It also seems to have burnt out, and perhaps should just have a big blowout of an ending. Just my opinion, so don't be mad at me.

I think you are forgetting Carlos also faked a vasectomy..... hence the children. I don't find anything Lucille Ball like about Gaby or her schemes. Lucy would never have had sex with the teenage gardener.
Personally I thought the show was getting a bit stale, but I am looking forward to seeing how the whole Dave thing will play out.

This used to be my favorite show and I still watch it every week, however, the season is moving way way way too slow.....get on with the point already...the dave/edie/mike?/susan story line is the best but it is just going way to slow...move it on already!
