I agree, its not as good without Grissom. I do think my favorite moments have been those involving Wendy and Hodgins.

CSI used to be one of my very favorite shows and now I often find myself passing over it on the DVR and leaving the new episodes unwatched. Sad, but nothing lasts forever!

Grisson was why we got hooked on the show to begin with, and it's different without him, no doubt. I see glimpses of a different quirkiness in Ray that the writers need to develop. I'll give it next season for that to happen, otherwise I'll move on.

I have never understood why they needed to bring on Fishburn. Catherine could easily have stepped into Grissom's shoes and carried the show. They instead have shot themselves in the foot by relegating her to a relatively minor role.

CSI jumped the shark with the departures of all the main characters. Elevating the obnoxious lab guy to a prominent role killed my interest in the show. Lawrence Fishburne is a good actor but the role written for him lacks interest.

I totally agree that CSI is lost without Grissom. Had the show stepped up and used Catherine to fill the huge void left by Petersen's exit (she is, after all, supposed to be the new boss)things might have been OK. But most shows she barely has a cameo. This season should have been highlighting current characters like Nick, Greg (I really enjoyed the weird "trekky" episode featuring lab rat David), even Conrad for crying out loud, and slowly introducing the new characters, not pushing them into the front. I was sad when Sara and Warrick left but I don't think the show can recover from Grissom's departure. Sad. I couldn't wait for my Thursday night CSI.

I do not watch CSI as much but I do watch CSI Miami and CSI New York More now because I know the characters and like the story lines. I think that CSI has to dive into more of Langston's character in order for the fans to understand him and what he is about. The final show looks to be good.

I am a diehard fan of the show. While I do agree it is harder to watch without Warrick and Grissom, I tune in every week because I still love the characters and I still enjoy the crimes they solve. I think they chose a wonderful actor to join. I enjoy seeing Lawrence Fishburne on CSI. While he isnt a "light" as Grissom, he brings in his own to the show. I think the new season will see his character develop more, just as Catherine, Nick, Warrick, Sara and Grissom did from the first to second seasons. The only thing I would change about the show is Riley. She has been the only character in the whole running of the show that I can't stand. I began collecting all of the seasons after watching the first episode of this season. I admit I miss Warrick so much more than Grissom. I will keep tuning in, that is what a diehard fan does for the show they love.

I'm a die-hard CSI fan myself, and I've tried to give it a chance...but without Grissom it's just not the same. There's a chemistry that's lacking now. The cast feels so fragmented & the stories are not as interesting as they once were. I feel that when Sara (Jorja Fox) left, she took the heart of CSI, and Billy Petersen (Grissom) took the soul.

I think the laid back personality of Fishborne is great for the show. I must admit Grissom made the show more interesting. Sara leaving was sad. She was one of my favorite characters. Honestly, I miss Grissom. I also miss Warrick. I think I was really close to no longer watching the show once they killed him off. But I continued because of Grissom. I wasn't sure how to handle Laurence Fishburne coming in and taking on that roll. To me, He's done an OK job. He's not thrilling me with random trivia, but at the same time, he's not boring. I like the fact that we have learned a little more about Doc Robbins lately, he was sort of a 5th wheel there for a while, and now he has come more into light. I'm still not happy with Riley. Something about her character just doesn't appeal to me, but I may just be basking in the glory of the old days when it was Sara, Warrick, Catherine, Nick and Grissom. I was waiting for something to happen between Warrick and Catherine for so long and now I'm at a loss as to what this show can do for me other than show me criminialistics scenarios.

They need some fresh writers. Vegas is a quirky place with no end of strange people to get into trouble/end up dead.
Move some minor characters forward, aka Law & Order format. Hodges is no longer the Lab Rat (Weasle) he once was. Medical examiner & Ray can develop a bond.
STOP creating personal crisis story lines and let the characters become a group - AGAIN.
BTW....who really cared about Sarah anyway? She was just a whiner. Warrick is missed.
Also...as in CSI Miami, get those lab shots right and put them into LAB COATS with protective hair covering etc. Surprised they ever solve a case with all the personal cross-contamination.
Get the women into some clothing that does not reveal a bag of boobs in every shot. They might be top-notch in their field, but they wouldn't last a minute in an evaluation because of their hair (CSI Miami and NY) plus, the see-all clothing.

I have to agree with Gerrie, I was a faithful veiwer before this year. I feel that too much time is spent on Fishburne's character and not enough time on the old timers. I would love to see Katherine lead more and Nick be given more leadership time in the field. I have watched from day one and have gotten to know the others and want to see more of their lives, I cried like a baby the night Warrick died. The only way I will watch every episode next year will be if the writers go back to the old ways.

I am exactly the same as Gerrie. I DVR CSI, but it is always the last one I watch if I watch it at all. I miss Grissom. I had hoped Nick would pick up some of the slack. As far as Fishburn's character, they may have tried to fill the same calm, quirky Grissom spot with Ray(example: working in the basement, quiet demeanor) but it just doesn't cut it. Very boring. I miss the CSI of old! Will probably not watch next season.

CSI is the same. yes the show is not what it once was, but it is still much better then 80% of the crap that we are subjected too. I watch it faithfully each week and when its time does come I will be sitting there on the edge of my seat to get one last glimpse of my old friends. I will turn the TV off afterwards and walk away with an ache in my heart.

Coming from a diehard CSI fan, I can say I concur. The series is flat and jerky. The rhythm is gone and most of the interest too. Fishburne's character has no charisma and that, I think, is a big part of the problem. Too bad, but all good things end, so should CSI (and in my opinion ALL the spinoffs too).

I'm with you on this one. Grissom has been sorely missed in my opinion. I too miss all the little odd facts that would come out of him and the little quirks that brought some *twinkle* to his cases. I think Fishburne is an admirable actor and he has a huge pair of shoes to fill....but I don't think he is succeeding. I agree that TPTB are trying to force investure instead of letting it happen naturally. Personally, I haven't said I'm not going to watch the show anymore but I find that I'm watching it less and less and that I'm forgetting that it is going to be on that night. The show really is only fixable if Grissom returns (and not by being re-cast!).

Since you are not going to re-cap CSI anymore how about recapping Criminal Minds??

The loss of Grissom and Warrick were major losses, and the show seems to have loss it's spark for me as well. I really liked the idea of adding Larry Fishburne he's such a fine actor, but his character is so unassuming and vanilla. I like Wendie's expanded role (plus she's cute!), and the quirkyness of Hodges. Doc's always been consistent, but I'm tiring of Marge Hellenberger who appears to be just going through the motions. I don't know, but maybe I'm just getting tired of the whole CSI thing. Gary Sinese looks so bored most of the time in CSI N.Y., but the supporting cast in my mind is excellent. CSI Miami's egomainiac (David Caruso) drives me crazy, but again the supporting cast is decent outside of the blonde who needs to spend some serious money on acting lessons.

What upsets me with CSI is that when Grissom left, instead of bringing forward folks we already knew, and had grown to like in the lab (Wendy, Archie etc), they brought in two brand new folks. I like Ray, but I am a Lawrence Fishburne fan. Riley, I just could care less about. Please.. Give us more of Wendy (who wanted to take the field test!!), Super Dave and the rest of the lab guys. And BTW, WHY is Hodges in the field, after telling Greg he was *crazy* for doing field work????

I feel the same way, when Grissom was on the show I never missed an episode, even taping them when I was away and eagerly awaiting to get home to see the show.

Now, Langston, agreeably flat and Willows a lame replacement for Gil, make me feel like I can miss a show and not really care.

I felt the same way two years ago about ER and maybe I watched that show five times in two years.

CSI will be lucky if they have another full season. Its hard to believe that one character can have so much influence on a show.

Sad to say it but I probably won't be watching CSI anymore unless there is a drastic improvement.

I've enjoyed this season of CSI very much, probably due to William Petersen's departure. Not that I didn't like Grissom (or Sara, or Warrick for that matter) but changing things around and exploring new dynamics with different characters can be a good thing. Without Grissom, CSI is flat and it's just sad. I love Marg Helgenberger. She is awesome good. And Katherine could have helped a lot but they gave her nothing! Lawrence Fishburne is a great actor, but replacing William Petersen with him is trying to make a silk purse out of a sows ear for this part and this show. I didn't think it would work and it hasn't. If they can't get Grissom back, at least part time, they are toast. And since this show has always been far far superior to all the other spins offs, they are probably toast in short order too. Petersen had big shouldars in this show - far bigger than they gave him credit for apparently.

It's pretty much been said - Grissom was the glue that held CSI together, and without him, the show seems weaker. Katherine's roll needs to be expanded much more - Marg Helgenberge is more than capable of doing a lot more on the show...she's a very good actress and they need to tap into the talent they have. Without Sara/Grissom/Warwick, the personal touch is missing - no more serious flirtations that opened up their characters. Nick needs to find someone to share his life with, too...George Eads is far to handsome and appealing to not use that in this show - some more levity is needed. All of the problems are fixable - and Fishburne's character also needs to tell more of the story of his past, and what made him made the move to work with CSI.

Paige, do you want some cheese with that whine? Because that's what all the complainers here need, obviously! CSI is a procedural-one with very human characters, but real CSI's change all the time. Lawrence Fishburne is not Grissom, but he never pretended to be and it's been a real revelation on how he's taken us on his learning curve. Nick and Hodges have been fantastic in their working with him, and if you pay attention, Riley and Greg's dynamic has been fascinating. Yes, there have been missteps-more Catherine as leader would be nice, but watching Paul Guilfoyle in last week's show was one of the gems of this season. Yes, I miss Grissom/Sara/Warrick (yes Jorja haters-she is missed!), but I look forward to next season and more background/stories of of the new-and veteran CSI's of LVPD!

Of the three CSI's, I like Las Vegas the best. We need to give them more than one season to develop a new character that will engage the viewers.

While I liked Grissom a great deal, I think that Fishburne's character is terrific. I think Catherine is an incredibly annoying character and to make her the focus of the show would have destroyed the show. Nick is a pretty good character, but he needs to interact with others and without Warrick and Sara, he doesn't have his "pals" to interact with. The secondary characters are quite good and have had to step up - mostly to replace Warrick and Sara. Riley is just an ok character. If they wanted to make her a main character, then they should have given her more to do. Right now, Brass, Wendy, Archie, Doc Robbins and Hodges are more interesting characters.

I don't watch anymore. Grissom was CSI. It was bad enough when you killed Warrick but without Grissom it's fallen flat. It used to be my favorite show and I never missed it. You should have let Catherine's character take over Grissom's position. I never like Sara and was glad when she left. I could never see Grissom and her together.

I like Laurence Fishburn, so I'm hoping his character is going through some growing pains, as he seems pretty one-dimensional at this time. I really miss Grissom though, and the quirkiness of his character, and I miss Warrick as well. I never cared for the character of Sarah, and never felt she and Grissom were convincible as a couple. I don't like the character of Riley at all. She has an edge about her that rubs me the wrong way, and she doesn't seem to fit in.

The character of Ray was introduced as a newbie and then boom he starts acting and getting treated like he isn't. I think introducing him as a newbie was a mistake, but they've compounded it by not following thru with what they started. It irriates the hell out of me and it seems like the character of Ray is getting shoved down my through. I can't be bothered to watch the show anymore, and truthfully I don't even record it anymore. I read the recaps instead. I miss Grissom and I miss Sara, and I miss the way the old team interacted together.

I miss William Petersen/Grissom - that was what sold me on the show, and he was the glue that made the team an actual team (not to mention their united dislike of Conrad, whose head butting with Grissom was always a joy to watch). Mr. Fishburne's character is too "watch me learn something" (didn't we already do that with Greg?), and despite the fact he is a wonderful actor, the character's introduction through his experiences with Grissom just didn't gel to put him/his character in the forefront of everything. I miss Warrick (I always hated Sara and never believed the Grissom/Sara partnership for a moment), adore Doc Robbins, and consider Willows and Nick to be M.I.A. OIn summary: The chemistry is gone - it is that simple. Time to bring Petersen back on-camera, let the writers again shine (the 'Trekkers' episode was a surprise delight), bring back Catherine and Nick to the forefront, or maybe think about cancelling the show. My Tivo still records it, but I zip through it while simultaneously reading the paper. Heck, if you want to regain my attention, bring back Lady Heather as Mrs. Grissom. Do something!

For me, CSI stopped being something I really looked forward to when Jorja Fox left. It's amazing what she did with a character that was never meant to take center stage, but she did. The episodes with a significant Sara presence were always a little more interesting for me, regardless of plot or writer. So I missed her departure in a way that I couldn't miss any other character's, perhaps with the exception of Grissom who made Sara's departure bearable by being a link to (if nothing else) her memory.

But with both WP and JF gone, CSI has lost most of what made it real appointment TV for me. I still watch. I haven't missed an episode yet, but I don't tape them to occasionally rewatch and so far, I only regret not recording the science fiction one that featured Hodges and Wendy. For a drama, CSI does slap-stick extremely well.

Ray's introduction was great and for the same reasons you gave, I too had high hopes when they portrayed Ray as a real rookie. Much too quickly however, he was working solo cases and taking the lead with his CSI III colleagues. It's even difficult at times to remember who is (or should be) boss, Ray or Catherine.

But the changes aren't all about character, which in my opinion is CSI: The Next Generation's biggest mistake. When did the Vegas CSIs become cops? It's hard to tell they're not supposed to be at the rate they're pulling guns and getting physical with suspects.

I do miss the CSI of old, which was first and foremost about the science and its scientists. If the writers could find their way back to what made this show a success, and become as passionate about their new cast of characters as they were about the old ones, then I think this show would continue to be in the top ten for a few more years.

As someone who has watched CSI since episode 1, I never thought that I could give it up as easily as I have this last few months. Time was I'd never miss a new episode, but with the exit of Grissom it is (for me anyway) a case of losing the heart of the show. Laurence Fishburn is a fine actor, but I just miss Grissom too much to care. The other characters just don't hold the same interest for me. Sorry to say I've given up on CSI sans Grissom. Definitely a towering presence in an ensemble cast that I think was the component that made it work so well.

I still like CSI but I do miss Grissom. All things move on - the writers just need to read these comments and take them to heart. If you're going to make Laurence Fishburne's character the central character you've got to give him something for us to relate to. He's the newbie - you should be working with the old timers just as much if not more in the first episodes so we can adjust to him and his quirks and "bring him into the fold". I'll keep watching but if things don't get more interesting I'm not sure how much longer.

I'm such a fan of the show that I've tried REALLY HARD to look forward, not back. I do miss Peterson, Fox and Dourdan. But I also like Fishburne. That said, there are some things about his character that don't ring true for me. The show that emphasized how hard it is to go from being a professor in a suit (which we profs rarely wear, BTW) to being a CSI was good. But he so fast became a CSI that gives instructions to others! No other CSI 1 (think: Greg) had that kind of authority at that level of job. I do miss Grissom's quirks. Personally, I think the show has the opportunity to renew itself with the departure of Grissom and company. Over the past few years, his character lost a lot of the charm and quirkiness from the first few seasons that made him such an appealing figure. He’d gotten dark and moody even before Sara and Warwick… seemed burned out and tired most of the time.

With Langston, the show has the potential to recapture some of the energy and freshness the series had been loosing. Fishburne is a fabulous actor and the chemistry between his character and some of the others is well worth exploring (ie - the scene where he and Robbins talked jazz/blues or the scene in the storefront church with Brass).

But, I do agree they need to make better use of the older characters, especially Catherine, Nick, and Brass... I love Brass! In the push to establish Ray, they didn't get nearly enough screen time in several episodes this seasons. I do have to note that the last few episodes did contain some intriguing scenes between Brass and Catherine... dare I suggest a vibe???

I still love the show and I'm hopeful about addition of Langston... though Riley can go and go quickly. CSI is still the best shows on television!

At present Mr Fishburne's character remains too shallow to feel any true interest in. The writers got close a few times, such as when he and the Doctor talked blues, or the selection of his "office space", but nothing has come of these tidbits - no development or further tie into the story line. In addition, I miss Katherine's humanity, often now her parts are so short as to be almost characterized as cameo appearances. I too, am now a casual watcher, as is my wife. There was a time that CSI was number one on the DVR and watched often. Now, I only tape an episode if it appears to have something of interest about it.

Our lives are constantly changing. People come and go at work, in our neighborhoods, in our lives. CSI is no different. Things change, but that doesn't mean that they are better or worse. I have found some of the storylines to be refreshing.

And to me the BEST scene was at last week's end, when Catherine stepped into Jim's office. This showed that though his buddy Grissom had moved on, Jim still has friends there for him. I found it comforting to see them together as friends.

We all learn our jobs better every day - and then at times pass that knowledge to others. This show now reflects that. I miss Grissom. I miss Sara. I miss Warwick.

Since I do not have TV reception, I find these comments interesting. I was watching CSI Vegas until I lost reception. I have the DVD's for all the seasons, except current of course. Now I have to decide if I want to purchase it when it becomes available near the end of this year. I did not like seeing cast members leave. Billy left because there was nothing more he could do with the character he played. It was sameold sameold to him. I agree - watching all the episodes it seems the main characters repeat the same lines over and over and over again over the span of 8 years. Anyone with half a memory will recall. So there are only two solutions: 1) leave the program for fresher pastures or 2) hire new, clever writers who can come up with new senarios/stories/situations (personal and work related) to explore unexplored nuances of character for each actor. Question: would Billy have left if #2 had been used? Personally, I get bored hearing the same conversations/quips over and over again (like Nick's "and get this" or "check this out"). If the new characters have not been fleshed out and it seems the relationship between characters is fractured, it is a writing problem.

CSI jumped the shark when Hodges, went out in the field. Everytime he opens his mouth I wish I could pop him one. I kept watching the show, hoping it would get better, and was totally blown away when I saw Hodges at a crime scene. Was there any mention that he was going to get out of the lab? This season of CSI is fragmented and flailing about trying to find it's footing now that Grissom has left. He was the glue that held everything in place and now that he's gone, everything is coming undone. Laurence Fishburn's character has the ability to be as good as Grissom, if it didn't feel like the writers put him together at the last minute when William Peterson said he was leaving.The other characters do even seem to be as interesting or interested in what they are doing anymore. Or is that just me? I do believe that if the writers can flesh out Ray's true character that CSI will be worth watching again on a regulary basis. I do like Ray and the doc's interaction over music. The show is still one of the best on TV, it's just not up to the standards of its most devoted fans. And if the writers aren't careful, CSI could become "Lost".

When CSI Miami seems the better alternative, you know things are amiss. While I've been a bit disenchanted by all the procedural's success at the expense of quirky and smarter shows, I've always found CSI to be a cut above the rest because it had heart and characters who I was drawn to. Grissom wasn't necessarily my favorite character on the show but he surely was the link the held the other characters together and for that he was the most essential ingredient in CSI's success.

I like LF, but he doesn't work at all on CSI. There's little to nothing the writers can do to change it either. Such a shame. He's a complete and utter bore.

The show went by the wayside with Grissom for the most part. The only one I can say I have really enjoyed is the episode where they showed Nick investigating murders at a seedy hotel over a period of the past year or two that culminated in the death of the hotel owner's teenage daughter. 1st off, you're calling CSI: NY an 'also-ran'?? That's an INSULT!. BEST show on TV & possibly the best CSI show as well. The characters RULE & episodes & storylines are easy to follow along, especially if you've watched the show since Day 1 like I have.

As for CSI without Grissom, well, I don't if it's been the same or as good since Will Peterson's Grissom character departed; not just that though, but there have been a slew of cast changes( Grissom, Sara, Warrick getting killed off ), & a lot of new faces that perhaps some CSI viewers aren't used to. It's still interesting to watch, but it's not the old CSI that I used to know.

My interest in the show started waning when Sara left; then it was like a domino effect with Warrick and finally Grissom leaving. Loved the way they ended the Grissom/Sara storyline, but I just can't get into Fishburne's character. I still watch, but with half of the original cast gone, it's a new show and the cast chemistry which made this show so great is just not there anymore. Personally, I think it's time for all the characters to move on.

I agree, the show is very flat...but it just isn't about Grissom leaving...it is very difficult to replace three huge characters...can't forget Warrick and Sara. The possible budding romance, and Warricks character brought a huge amount to the table...and lets face it those characters really blended with the rest of the team...including Brass. Fishburne couldve been a good replacement for one...but not for such a huge loss...and please surely someone other than I, doesn't think that Catherine brings much...so tired of her character and her daughter, was so much more interesting when her "father" was involved.

I was a loyal viewer of CSI every Thursday night, but, since Grissom has left, I switched to Grey's Anatomy. Up until now, Thursday night was the best night of television. Grissom's departure didn't just take away from CSI--it took away from Thursday nights period.

I miss Grissom. It just isn't the same without him and his quirky ways. He gave the show an intelligence and could always be counted on to provide a surprise. I do like Ray; he has some of the same feel to him, like when he came roaring up on the motorcycle last week. But what I really want to see is more of the characters we know - more Greg, more Nick and more Catherine. Glimpses of their personal lives made us care more about them. Other than the Trekkie episode with Wendy and Hodges and Brass's secret fling, it's been all business, and boring business at that. I want Gill back!

I have to admit, that I stopped watching the show after Warrick was killed off. That is one fine-looking man. Simply handsome. Grissom did carry the show with his inquisitive mind. And I liked the softer side of Sara.

I miss GG a lot too. I don't blame Fishburn or any of the other actors...it just seems that the show's writers are still on strike with lackluster scripts. They should take a look at the old ones, figure out how to put Katherine in the lead roles, and pattern new ones on that.

I remember my mom saying "John Wayne could put his boots under my bed anytime" or that he "could eat crackers in my bed." That's how I feel about William Peterson.
It's just not the same without him..but then I wonder, if I am just not giving Fishburne's character a chance.

I had hoped they would have found a way promote Nick, and we'd find out about the skeletons in his closet.

All responses to this article seem to parrot the theme Grissom Gone-CSI Bad. I disagree, though the loss of Grissom (and Warrick) is significant I've always felt the show had/has a strong supporting cast. Besides, I've never viewed Grissom as the main character as they all seem to get equal face time. The show is well written and the episodes this season reflect that. Did anyone not enjoy the Star Trek themed episode of a few weeks back? That will sure to be a CSI classic. For every person who says CSI is lacking without Grissom there is a person of equal or lesser value who thinks it is still a quality show. Personally, I'd like to see Lady Heather back.

Of course it's not the same without Grissom. No one in their right mind expected it to be. I agree that the season hasn't been up to par but disagree with the reason. The blame shouls not be placed on Fishburne's character Ray as it has been interesting and refreshing. The problem has been the lack of suitable scripts for Ray and the other characters who have made the show what became. It will never be the same without Grissom but better writing could greatly improve it from where it's at and highlight the stellat cast that remains!

I miss Grissom, but to me the show wasn't all about him. It was about solving the crime. I love the investigations that cross multiple episodes (miniture killer). I think they were walking on eggshells this season afer Grissom left, they weren't sure where to go. Hopefully, the next season they will open up an start developing the characters. I still love CSI. Not much else to watch. TV Sucks (except CSI and a few other shows and Sports). Enjoy the show.

First, I could never believe such a prominent researcher as Ray would leave what he was doing to be a CSI ONE of all things. Why take such a dramatic drop?

And thing is, as the "star" (first billed) he get more action than a ONE should.

I hate Riley.

Dunno why they simply didn't move Wendy to a CSI. And sorry, I like Hodges. He may be obnoxious, but he's snarkily obnoxious, and I wish he and Wendy would "get it on."

Grissom's departure coincided with the show maturing at its peak of popularity. Nowhere to go now except down. A change in characters is one way to reinvent the show, but Lawrence Fishburne does not have the charisma to become a focal point and challenge the other actors. I fear the show is one a decline that cannot be halted.

I disagree that Grissom was what held the show together. I think it was the straw that broke the camel's back, certainly, but the culmination of the leaving of Sara, and Grissom, and the death of Warrick, it was too much. I think Fishbourne's character is interesting, but I liked it more during the handful of episodes Grissom was there too; I liked him more as a profiler. Expanding more on that aspect of his character could do wonders for the show. Maybe guest appearances from Sara and Grissom! We can hope. All in all, I still watch, but the "OMG I CAN'T MISS IT!" is gone, and I'll watch it the next day off the DVR.

I think the writers had a chance to bring it on with Lawrence. Every time I watch i'm just waiting for him to snap, or do something crazy but nothing happens. I see it in him, i see the possibilities but alas! Nothing. I wish they hadn't killed off that other guy, the CSI with a dirty background. He would have made a good Grissom replacement.
HOW TO FIX:
Make Ray have some kind of mysterious background, like something linking him with one of the unsolved murders during Grissom's time. He needs to be elusive and cagey in order to make the show. Kinda like a 'Monk' type CSI. Otherwise he's just a glorified librarian that is interested in homicides. It's like watching a Ferrari idle, Lawrence has the potential to really get edgy and they should run with it.

Being a CSI junky from the get go I totally agree that the show is only ok now that Grissom has left it has lost its luster.. Bad enough to get rid of two great charaters Sara an Warrick but to get rid of Grissom is like writing your own death wish ....

I agree that Grissom's, Warrick's, and Sara's exits hurt the show, but I like Laurence Fishburne. He's a great actor, but I also agree that more character development is needed. Why not let Catherine finally find her man? Or Nick or Greg find a woman? Or maybe tell a bit more about Riley? I enjoy Hodges and Wendy as well. There is some potential here--the writers just seem to not know what to do with these folks.

I also feel the same way as Gerrie.I never missed a show while Grissom was on.This last season I watched a few shows and now could care less about watching.The show seems so boring.I admire Laurence Fishburne as an actor but dont believe the writers are giving him a decent chance to succeed in this show.

I loved the old CSI but things change...and I love the new CSI. I never miss it! I love Fishburne's character. He shouldn't be like Grisson, that would be wrong. He brings something new and fresh to the show. Doc, Greg & Hodges are my other standouts. They can survive without having to bounce of Grissom. That's why they are still interesting. Nick & Catherine were at their best when they played off Warrick & Grissom. They're boring as dirt now. I say on with the new!!

I laugh at the ones saying I haven't watched a single episode since Grissom left because it's just not the same!! well you're right. Too bad you're missing a show that's still pretty great. Sad you didn't give it a chance.

I am sure, under the right circumstances, William Peterson would come back if asked. He should do what Michael Jordan did at the end of his career. Sign a one year deal...either big pay or a percentage of profits..etc...he could name his price and come back for another season. They could construct a throwaway plot line that Sara died and her dying wish was for Grissom to return to what he did best and carry on his work. Then we could all file this under the "Dallas Bobby/Pam Ewing lost year shower scene" and all will be well. If I was producing this...that's what I would do.
