I loved the show. I was sad to see that it was cancelled. It was a fresh breath of air compared to all of the Law and Order/CSI and other boring junk on tv. Hate to see the end of "Terminator: The Sarah Conner Chronicles". Wasn't a great show, but was fun. Wish network TV would just leave things alone sometimes and let them grow. Sure, Terminator may never have become a blockbuster like Desperate Housewives or LOST, but it still had a loyal following, who will now have to latch on to something else and start all over again. And what will they replace these shows with? Some mindless dribble.

Was I a fan? I LOVED that show. I didn't know it was canceled until I read this article. I thought it was second funniest show on T.V., the first being “Chuck”. The decision to cancel Earl scares me. If they can come to that decision will the make the same decision for other programs like “Chuck”?

Sometimes I think the TV executives are taking us in the direction you see sometimes in movies. You know, where they depict a really over-the-top state of television where the reality shows are just crazy stupid.

I really think it shows what direction this country is headed in, although I guess "My Name is Earl" isn’t exactly the direction you want either. :-)

I like Earl when it first started because it was a bunch or Stereotypical characters that, over the course of each episode, proved that they weren't stereotypes.

Then it became the reversal, and the characters became nothing but one dimensional stereotypes and I stopped watching a couple seasons ago, after the strike.

My 16YO daughter and I love "Earl." As you say, the writing and acting are excellent. It manages to wring genuine, good-hearted humor out of poverty, race, and illegal immigration. The characters are loving and supportive of each other without ever being saccharine. The show's cancellation is a terrible shame. We will miss it very much.

I loved the first season as well. Unfortunately, the later episodes did not come close to the quality of the first season. I don't know for sure, but I would guess, that the writers had changed because the show seemed so different than its former self.

If all we were going to get was more of the later style episodes, Earl's demise is a relief. I do however lament the loss of the show as it was presented in the first season.

Sadly, some religious critics didn't like the idea that Earl pushed an Eastern concept - Karma.

But, even the 'new' book - The Secret pushes a lot of the same ideas of putting out positive energy to get positive energy back. And putting it into the blue-collar, welfare-check and petty crime world Earl lived in made it that more charming.

I absolutely loved this show and it will truly be missed. The casting was perfect, the stories delightful as well as full of belly laughs (like Earl trying to hold Joy and Crabman's wedding in a public park) or Earl being chased by a one-legged woman with a shotgun for stealing her car).

"Earl" lets you feel like part of that wacky family, and lets you in on the joke. It's one of the most original programs in years, and I love that it doesn't follow the "standard" script ideas. This is the reason I do not watch network T.V. anymore. Good shows like this, Arrested Development, and several others get cancelled well before they should. But junk like The Batcheler, American Idol, Dancing with Stars, etc. etc. just keep on going and the mindless drones just lap it up.

They don't/won't allow shows to develop a following anymore either, so it's not worth investing time with a new series that comes out. Thank heaven for the Discovery Channel and shows like Dexter, Breaking Bad, Rescue Me, Weeds, and several others shows on cable or I would throw my T.V. away.

I have been a Jason Lee and Ethan Suplee fan from the Kevin Smith movie days, and I loved the show. It was always smart and funny in a dumb kind of way. They never seemed to drop the intelligence level down to make things interesting and humorous; they kept it real.

The guest stars added to the story lines beautifully, and as a long time fan of Alyssa Milano, she was perfect as one of Earl's love interests. And lets not forget the opposites attract Christine Taylor and Marlee Matlin both cast as potential significant other's for Earl.

Earl fans can just hold on for something like an X-Files post series move that ties up all of the loose ends. Kevin Smith would be the perfect directory.

I loved My Name is Earl. It was one of the funniest shows around. Because the characters were white trash - come on, they were! - it was the source of a lot of the humor. Because there was that humor, the message wasn't too preachy. And because of the message, it made you feel better for liking the characters, even when they did some rotten things.

But see, people who don't get the show are the ones who are being mocked, ever so gently, by the humor. And those people are the same ones who like all those shows about the Kardashians, the Bachelor/ette, etc.

I'm telling you, I'm done with TV once my shows - The Office, Medium, Chuck - are finished. I've had it with getting too attached to shows and having the rug pulled out from underneath me after just a couple seasons, like Pushing Daisies, Eli Stone, Jericho, etc. And I hate the feeling as other shows like Earl and Chuck hang in limbo until they're announced.

You're right, a show about karma should have been treated better. But like Earl said, what goes around comes around, and NBC will get its.

I agree with everything you said in your column. It's unfortunate that shows with meaning, no matter how silly, are sacrificed while 'staged' reality shows are dominating every network. Another show I'm really heartbroken about is Terminator: The Sara Conner Chronicles. Here's a show who pushes the envelope in special effects every week, the writer's strike cut the first season to the bone, and the second left us true fans wanting more. It would be nice if some of the cable channels would take a chance, just like DirectTV took on Friday Night Lights, and allowed us to continue to enjoy the shows we've come to love.

I really enjoyed the first couple of seasons but they lost me with the whole "Earl in prison" plot in season 3 or 4 (I forget which). It lost it's way and hasn't been as interesting since. Earl was a show that had great writing and great acting. I understand that these things do not come cheap and it is easier to just film for the sake of filming and then come up with a show, it is unfortunate that a good show with a great cast was cut down before its time. It seems like networks just want to dumb up their viewer even further with shows that have no real message except that excess and greed is great.

Unfortunately, I think that many people didn't give it a shot because the premise of the show seemed...for lack of a better term...dumb. To be honest, I never would have watched the show had my wife not forced me to. She only was watching it one night because she was doing something else when it came on and got interested. Needless to say, both of us were hooked after 1 episode.

However, as the author alludes to, people are more interested in watching shows that focus on the "me" aspect, instead of a show that focuses on needing strong relationships in life and has positive messages (and, oh by the way, is very entertaining while doing so).

My guess is that Earl got canceled because people never gave it a chance, not because they didn't like it. I believe that if people would have taken the time to watch an episode or two, they would have been hooked.

Earl is a great show and has a wonderful ensemble cast. I really hope that a different network picks it up.

Loved this show in its earlier seasons, but in the last year or 2 it really went downhill. The Earl in prison subplot was not great, but I respected the show for trying something different, and it did have its moments. The Earl lives in a sitcom subplot was so painfully bad that it was embarassing to watch, and in my opinion the show never fully recovered after that. It was better later in the last season than it had been in awhile, so I was hoping that was coming back to its original greatness. I guess we'll never know.

The reason we keep getting all these nauseating reality shows is that they're dirt cheap to produce, and, more importantly (and bafflingly) people watch them. For me, their only redeeming quality is that they provide excellent material for Joel McHale on The Soup. It's no wonder that good quality dramas and comedies, and shows that take a chance and try to do something different succeed less and less frequently these days. People don't give a rat's behind about anything else but American Idol (rigged), The Bachelor (manufactured drama), and The Rock of Love Bus and its ilk (staged -- no one is really that stupid/trashy/tragic).

The longer people keep watching this kind of garbage, the harder and harder it will be to find good quality programs that entertain and (gasp) make you think or try to impart a lesson to the viewer.

Shame on NBC for canceling a solid show for things like "The Apprentice" or any other mind-numbing "reality" show. I was sad to see "Earl" on the cancelled list. It was a very clever show that allowed us to laugh at ourselves and others around us. This show had those characters we all recognized from our neighborhood or even our own families. I especially liked when they did a couple of shows about the show "Cops" coming to their neighborhood. Instead of being ashamed for being on the show, they were so proud! In addition, similar to "30 Rock", you have to listen closely to the dialog to hear all the little side jokes thrown in. I loved this show. When my teenage son started watching this he actually started to understand Karma and changed the way he acted. No matter what happened there was always a moral to the show. One of the funniest moments in the history of TV, the episode with the filming of "Cops." Joy and Earl are in the back of the police car, when a cop approaches. Joy runs off naked. Earl, pants around his ankles, attempts a get away and falls. Grimicing in pain he yelps, "I think I skinned my peter" and asks the cop to look because he simply can't. Priceless and hysterical.

Oh NO! At least thanks to Earl we all know that Karma will get them, it will. There is no understanding the crap they keep broadcasting on TV, how it stays why the really good shows get killed off.... I still have not gotten over the murder of Boston Legal. Maybe this is just another shove telling us all it is time to disconnect the cable. 200+ channels of nothing worth watching for a cost of over $50 a month. 80% of the time TV is a total waste of money. Maybe a boycott of NBC and all their advertisers is in order, I've been talking about doing that anyway since Comcast "upgraded " our service into the high priced crap zone and forced a converter box onto us that has to be reactivated every time the A/C trips the circuit. (Keep your acct. number, serial numbers and Box ID's handy for every box in your home or you cannot get the box reactivated). I am so annoyed by this stupid way of doing things I now trip my circuit 5-6 times a day on my day off just to create some amusement for myself...

I am a fan - I heard that one of the reasons the network cancelled it was a lack of a "save my show" drive by fans. That's an embarassing way to run a business. "save my show" activities only occur when there is a percetion that a show is getting unfairly cancelled --- which can only exist if there is a percetion a show is GETTING cancelled. As far as I was aware, Earl was a solid performer, and as a fan, I had no reason to think it was at risk as Chuck and Dollhouse were. So I am sad to see it go, and I hope another network picks it up. At the very least, NBC owed it a proper sendoff (13 episodes to complete the list) ... this ending, well, it's sad.

I never got a chance to watch Earl, however, I heard good things about it, personally I think we could use more Earls then anymore stupid reality shows, I dont understand the attraction of watching pathetically desperate women/men humiliating themselves to convince another man/woman you should be their life choice, couldnt careless what any kardashian is doing, i think the hills is just a bunch of fame wanting losers, couldnt really careless if their 2 main characters really got married or not, dont care what "celebrities" are doing in a jungle, or how many stupid people think it would be fun to be locked in a house with a bunch of total strangers, screwing each other over to win, I dont want to be locked in a house for 30 days or however long they are locked up with people I actually like.. my husband and i stumbled on earl during the first season. we are not "tv people", so it was refreshing to find a funny, quirky, semi-clean show that we could tune into every week. for some reason people around us didn't get it, but we loved it. it is ashame that the "reality tv" gets to stay on for years and years, while the good ones have to go so soon (prison break, missguided, etc)

I love Earl. It makes you feel that no matter how bad your life is, their's is worse, but they don't care. Because they have each other and their health. One of my favorite Earl's was when his Dad found out his Mom had cheated on him with the neighbor many years ago. So funny, mindless laughter on a Thursday night after a busy work week. Earl, what will we do without you? Please don't cancel this show.

Here's my comments, I can't stand reality TV and Thursday night was the only night, starting with of course Jason Lee as Earl that I enjoyed. I just can't believe that NBC is so worried about making room for their reality shows and their new shows (which I'm sure will suck) and will be canceled in a month, that they are now getting rid of My Name is Earl. Well I for one am so upset and just couldn't believe it. I guess it's too hard now to come up with real television so instead you just keep putting on more and more Reality shows, how cares what we want just make it easier for you so you want you to use your brain to come up with new and interesting shows for us to enjoy.

I like "Earl". But I admit, it went off the rails for a little bit, and that probably lost a lot of viewers. My wife got bored with the show when they did the "Earl in a coma" and "Earl in jail" storylines. Not only did those stories occupy the better part of a season, they added even more "weird" to what is already a fairly quirky dramatic structure.

There were some better one-off episodes this last season, but even there they flirted with disaster again, with the "Darnell as secret agent" and "Inside Probe" storylines.

"Earl" was at its best in the 30-minute framework, and I'd guess it lost a lot of viewers every time the writers went for the multi-episode stories. A hard lesson to learn, but I hope in the future my other favorite shows do pay attention to it.

I loved the show! Not all are great but overall excellent and with subtle humor. Now I'm stuck with American "Karaoke Night" Idol, or variations such as Think You Can Dance or whatever else, the unique CSI: <insert town here>, or even dysfunctional and yet politically correct families.

I dislike most television with about 20 minutes of commercials and pop-ups during the show I'm trying to watch (American Idol fans ALREADY KNOW it is on tomorrow at 8pm, don't block my view with stupid advertising, makes me dislike it even more).

I've stopped watching some WB shows because during one show, I had 3, yes THREE, popups. The bottom right corner saying "Next All New Supernatural", a thing across the bottom left for "90210 at whatever time", and a local college add across the rest of the bottom. AAHH!!! Don't even shrink the screen but cover up the show, at least let me see what I might be missing. Idiot televisions.

I got started watching early, briefly, because I was stuck at work or watching other shows. The first thing I did when I got a taste of it was laugh my butt off. Its Comedy!!! And I put some money down and bought the first two seasons, then bought the third season as well. NBC (Nothing but Crap) has only had one great show before My Name is Earl came along...and that was Seinfield (a show about nothing, that lasted 9 wonderful seasons until the cast members ended up in jail...very funny). As for Earl, the show ends with ???...we will probably never know who Earl Jr's real dad is...thanks to NBC. They'll leave shows on like the Office...(boring), but they won't listen to the fans because they have none. Face it, NBC has had low ratings because ppl don't want to stick around and watch what's on. I wasn't a big Scrubs fan, but if a show could make you laugh with just one minute of channel suffering...then I believe its a keeper. My Name is Earl needs a lifeboat...and soon. Jason Lee along with his cast should be shift off for a least one more season, so they could end the show without the network axing them.

With the digital switch pending June 12th; and many local affiliates being able to broadcast on multiple channels (my local NBC affiliate has three channels), you would think they would jump on this opportunity to be more creative with some of the shows they air. My Name is Earl is the only "prime-time" sitcom that I have been able to say that I liked for many years now. A show that has a morally wholesome message while life twists through almost every immoral situation was one that I could personally relate to. The life-like honesty of this show is what impressed me, along with the pretty decent acting(especially the characters Randy and Darnell) that made someone like me take a moment from real life to escape into theirs. It's a shame that shows that have a following, sometimes a small but strong following, get the axe. Each season its a game in our house as to which of our new favourites will make it to a second season..I think my list is way to long to even go through here.. much like earl's tattered list.I'd like for the networks to change the way that they decide on the ratings for each show/fate of the show.. with the various different ways of watching tv, fewer people are watching in primetime, so please maybe its time to re-vamp the nielsen system and lest I suggest the cable/satellite boxes send the actual ratings to the networks. I put my head in shame to have had to suggest that.. nobody wants to have the cable companies tracking what we watch, but I'm fairly sure they already do and if it would help give acurate ratings then shows that have a real following may be given a chance for another season..

I hate to see Earl go. It was one of the few shows on that had an original take on comedy. I'm so tired of the standard comedy format; only the leads change. The problem is that reality shows are so cheap to make that even if they get a small number of viewers, the networks can make money; while scripted shows require huge ratings to be profitable.
Unfortunately, most networks will not give scripted shows a chance to find their niche and then go for the big audience. If NBC had treated Seinfeld like they do most shows these days, we would have missed out on 6 great seasons of that show and so many influences on popular culture.
Bryan Fuller's "Pushing Daisies" on ABC was another show that was trying to change the stale format but was not given the chance. It was a quirky, daring, cartoonish yet each episode was a work of cinematic art and featured outstanding performances from the leads and the guest stars.
The only solution I see is to get people to simply not watch reality shows. Refuse to watch the show, refuse to watch shows that discuss those shows, refuse to buy magazines that delve on reality shows. The networks are not going to change their formula until these reality shows become unprofitable.

I couldn't agree more. I'm going to miss Earl tremendously. Thursday nights on NBC truly was the highlight of my TV week. Thursdays just won't shine as bright next fall. Another one that saddened me is "Eli Stone". Again, well written, had a nice message behind each episode, fantastic actors, and you had to have a mind to enjoy it. I guess that's why it's canceled. This country (or just TV execs) are pretty much brainless. Reality TV, come on!! Please save us. Now, my last holdout is "My Boys". We'll see what TBS does with that. Thank you for capturing so well the reasons why this has been my favorite show since the first episode in 2005. In fact, this is nerdy, but I really looked forward to Thursday nights and would not make plans. I'd even tell people not to call me on Thursday at 8pm.

I know they lost viewers during the 3rd season, but this season was fantastic! The only plus side for me: I'll barely be turning the TV on come fall.

Thanks Earl creators, writers and cast. You all did amazing work. I truly enjoyed this show and I hope it somehow gets rescued.

I was a fan from the beginning, but I have to admit this last season had lost its way. I know a show is loosing it's touch when my husband instantly falls asleep the moment it comes on and I have to make myself watch it out of loyalty and hope the slump is only a phase. I wondered early on how they could keep the show fresh for several seasons - great concept and cast but over time it could get repetative in the wrong hands - and apparently the writers couldn't solve that problem. Randy had lost his innocence, Darnell his mystery, and even Joy seemed to be getting too serious about life. Too bad, this was an entertaining show while it lasted and does deserve a proper ending.

My wife and I will miss "Earl" greatly, as well as "Samantha Who", another entertaining show jerked around by the networks. I think it should be apparent to all by now that the overwhelming majority of people running large companies (including the networks) in this country are either crooks or absolute morons, and alienating their potential, or in this case, loyal customers is how most of these companies wound up in the shape they are now in. As far as polluting the airwaves with so-called "reality shows", not one single show on the air right now is a real "reality" show insofar as not one person on any single one of them, will not act completely naturally as long as a TV camera is on them. The only true "reality show" in TV history was "Candid Camera" because nobody knew they were on TV so they acted like they always do. The rest of this garbage on now is absolute BS. Maybe when these network execs die and get to hell, they will be forced to watch the garbage they chose to put on the air forever. That will come close to justice.

It is so very disappointing to see another truly unique (and really funny!)show dismissed to make way for more cookie cutter dramas and reality shows. Even with their criminal behaviour, there was a kind of sweetness about Earl and the rest of the cast in their innocence and naivete' about the world. And every story had a moral about the importance and impact of doing the right thing (remember the circus "freaks" episode?). You sure can't say the same thing about "reality" tv, which thrives on bringing out the worst in people for the sake of ratings. And I love how it sometimes took a minute for the humor to sink in because you were left thinking "did he say what I think he said?" (Remember the line with the cross dresser in jail about having the "whole" surgery?) NBC - you really messed up with this one. Thursday night "must see tv" for me will be on another channel!

Great story lines, great characters, and no one mentioned a great soundtrack!! There are few shows I actually take time to watch and Earl was one of them. Earl was a unique show, it was different from anything else on TV and it held true that people could be good, that they weren't out for themselves and it wasn't all about the money, like almost everything realtiy related(I say almost because I am a die hard fan of Deadlist Catch).

That's what TV is now. Never watched Earl, but I can think of two that were canceled way before they should have been: American Dreams and Arrested Development. Two completely different shows, but both with winning qualities and great ensemble casts that only lasted 3 seasons (and NBC has STILL not released seasons 2&3 of American Dreams, so I can't even enjoy all of what was aired!).

Never mind the reality shows--we know why they continue to air: money. It's when I look at sitcoms like According to Jim or Two and a Half Men, that have been on for 6+ seasons, and all I can do is shake my head and wonder why.

Well developed characters, great guest roles allowing actors to take on roles that suited them, intelligent storyline, etc. I think this show never got the attention it deserved and I also have decided that it's the end of TV for me. Earl was a show I was surprised to love. Like many others, I brushed it off as another stupid show. But it somehow wiggled its way into my heart and I'm so sad to see it go. :\

Other shows that were axed before their time? Where do I begin?? Pushing Daisies, for one. A beautiful, delightful, well-written show that didn't get the attention or love it deserved. ABC has pretty much just kicked it in the dirt at this point.

Fox is bad about cancelling shows before their time, too, as any Family Guy, Wonderfalls or Firefly fan can attest to.

My name is Earl is my favorite TV show, and I have not had a favorite TV show since Star Trek The Next Generation stopped production. Now that My Name Is Earl has been canceled I feel like a bunch of my friends just moved away. Of course if I actually knew the characters of Camden Country I probably would not want them to know where I live. In any case I liked them. The only other two TV shows I felt as fondly for the cast as My Name Is Earl was The Mary Tyler Moore Show and Star Trek the Next Generation.

My Name Is Earl is the funniest show on television. NBC must be low on cash. I guess they figure a reality TV show is cheaper than My Name Is Earl. Hopefully TBS will pick it up.

As a big Earl fan from the beginning, I was shocked to discover it was bein cancelled. It's a great show, one of those whose least funny episodes are better than about 90% of any comedy that just keeps plugging along (Two and a Half Men, I'm talking about you!). I've never watched Earl; it always looked stupid.

I'm really surprised that CBS cancelled Without A Trace. That show was almost always in the Top 20 ratings. I did read where CBS said that the cancellation was due to the fact that the show was expensive to produce. Funny, I had taped the final episode to watch a few days later. Then CBS announced that the show was cancelled. When I finally watched the last episode; it did have a "final" feel to it; the show's writers must have known the show wouldn't be back.

And I've read where ABC has moved Ugly Betty from their Thursday 8pm slot to Fridays 9pm. Talk about a kiss of death for that show.

This really sucks.Network TV has become one big joke with a really lame punchline.Every other program on the tube is nothing but mindless "reality" crap that isnt fit for public access.I blame the studios and the sponsors for this and when enough people get fed up with the lack of anything good to watch and completely stop watching tv altogether its nothing but the studios/sponsors fault..Karmas gonna bitchslap them good.So sad o see the show end...

Earl and ER were 2 of the few shows that I made a point to watch and now both are gone.

It says something about the mentality of the people in this country that all the reality crap is so popular.

As mentioned above - "Breaking Bad" is an excellent show on AMC. However the season finale was yesterday.

For the life of me I still cannot understand why the networks consistently pander to the lowest common denominator and cancel great shows. EARL is both funny and though provoking. I loved it the first time I saw. God forbid NBC would let a GOOD show with an original premise stay on the air.

ABC did the same thing with Eli Stone. It was a beautifully done show with an inspirational message and great writing It only faltered because of the writers strike. ABC should have given it a chance to find its audience again.

"Earl" started out great. The first show was incredible. Heck, the first season was great. Then came the annoying jail and coma stuff. The crabman-was-a-spy line was bad too, but didn't run on quite so long. They should have stuck with the formula from the first season. If it's not broken, don't fix it! Instead they tried to turn it into a new show each year. Unfortunately, when you start out fantastic there is nowhere to go but down.

Thursdays were my only night for watching TV, and I ony watched NBC. I, like most everyone, work way too many hours on a stressful job - Thursday night was my "laugh" night. I would find myself actually laughing outloud during My Name is Earl (and the other NBC Thursday shows), and that was worth alot to me. No more ER. No more My Name is Earl. Are they going to get rid of Thirty Rock next????? Come on NBC...change the other 6 days of programmed mind-numbing cop/reality shows - I want to laugh on Thursdays.

We watched it as a family for the first couple of seasons and then had to shy away because too many episodes were on the raunchy side. It was a fantastic idea when it started... "What goes around, comes around."

I knew Earl was a part of our family lexicon when my younger son was fouled at a soccer game and we given a free kick. The ball ricocheted of the boy that had fouled him and took a looping path into the back of the net. My son turned to his brother and they simultaneously said "Karma."

I loved the first season of "Earl". After that it go a little too vulgar for us. My favorite episodes are "White Lie Christmas" and the one where Earl ruins Joy and Darnell's wedding in the park. Hilarious! It's sad that a good show can never seem to last...*sighs*

So sad to hear that Earl has been cancelled. Not sure what this says about my parenting skills, but I used not watching Earl as a punishment for my daughter! She loved it that much.

I will miss it in my favorite Thursday night line up.

It was interesting reading many of the comments about the cancellation of My Name is Earl. I agree with many that I too am not a fan of reality shows but they have become the cheap "junk food" programming for the networks.NBC has dropped 5 hours of scripted shows for Jay Leno. Why, because he's cheap in comparison to the number of writers, directors, actors, production crews, technicians, hair stylists, makeup artists, etc. that will lose their jobs behind. Will Jay perform free for them as they scamper around for work? My Name is Earl ended on a good cliffhanger that we will never find out. Ethan Suplee (Randy) was correct in his anger for finding out after the show ended that they would not return. It would have been in NBC's best interest and the crew and members of My Name is Earl to have gotten an early notice of NBC's intent so that they could have had a decent closure and wrap up of the show. Instead, it ends unresolved. Unlike Scrubs, that's been given one more season, had a finale that ended as a series conclusion with all the heart felt dignity it gave to it's loyal viewers, Earl was left with a list not checked off for its loyal viewers. As far as Jay is concern, I will not be tuning in to his 5 days a week show as I was not a fan of his since he started the Tonight Show. Having him on 5 nights a week in primetime only will cut down on my TV viewing time. Maybe that's a good thing.

Earl has been a favorite for our family since day 1. I have never and will never watch reality TV, nor public humiliation of would-be singers, or D-list celebrities dancing. Whoops. I was optimistic that another station would pick up the show but if it really is finished, I can't say I'm very happy. I know there was plenty of stories to be told and I was actually excited to see the conclusion to the story after the 4th season cliff hanger. Ending a show with a, to be continued? That sure sucks and I'm sad to see it go that way. Damn.

I am going to miss My Name is Earl----so funny--and, let's be honest....there are ton's of Earl's, Randy's, Joy's (and the rest of the crowd) out there--I see them in Wal Mart every week-ha!!! Maybe we can have 'EARL-CSI Camden County' next season...that would be a hoot and would satisfy the boring network executives that think we all want to watch cop/detective shows. Sad that Reaper, Life on Mars, Pushing Daisies and Everybody Hates Chris are all cancelled too.....

How can you not love a show that allows Burt Reynolds to chew thru the scenery in every shot? And have Danny Glover as Darnell's spy father. It's a shame this show is going, I've lived in Camden County and the folks there are no so different than everyone else, just a little "broker" and a bit more honest about who they are. I do wish some other network would pick it up so we can continue to follow karma down it's path to enlightenment!

I enjoyed the show greatly for most of its run, but I think the quality really dropped off during the second half of this season. Yes, maybe it's being cancelled too soon, but I'd rather see a show go out a season too early than a season too late.
