There are still allot of questions left unanswered after the first season finale. Do the Marines make it in time to save Jericho? Are they able to distinguish between which of the people fighting are from Jericho and which are from New Bern? How is Hawkins planning on brining down the new President who was the head of the DHS and was the mastermind behind the attacks? How does Hawkins use the tank that doesn't shoot to stop the re-inforcements from New Bern? And most importantly...where do we go from here??? What is going to happen now with the country?

I am SOOOOOO mad I erased the last three episodes of Jericho off my Tivo! I have been waiting for a moment when I had a couple of free hours to properly savour these last episodes. For those of us who weren't alive for the fan protests which brought back Star Trek, it feels wonderful to help bring back a truly original show. I would hasten to say that 'Jericho' is arguably more creative for it's time than 'Star Trek' was for its time. (And I've been a fan of all the Star Trek series.) I think that they need to bring in another show driving character like Jake and Hawkins, especially with the passing of Johnston. The possibilities are limitless, especially if the shows writer's discover an old paper RPG called, "Twilight 2000", which deals with a post-holocaust America. However, aside from conjecture of what will come needs to be conjecture of how to keep ratings up. Not to be a wet blanket, but CBS is giving us seven mid-season episodes for a second season and if ratings don't rock, they'll write off "Jericho" as another "Arrested Development" and that'll be the end of the story. Between now and when they show the seven-episode second season, we had better be doing what we can to get all of our friends who "meant" to get around to watching Jericho to actually do so. Otherwise, we've won the battle and lost the war!

I'm glad the execs finally realized they were making a big mistake... It'll be fun to see where the direction of the show will go. I think it would be interesting to take the angle of Jake (Skeet Ulrich) filling in as his father's role. You can see their personalities were similar as the series carried on. Jake with Hawkins as his right hand man would make for an interesting one-two punch. And don't worry Gerald McRaney will probably be brought back in flashback episodes.

I AM SO EXCITED!!! I was very bummed to find out JERICHO was cancelled. I love that show! It is such a welcome change from the reality shows that are invading television land. JERICHO makes you think and wonder what your family would do to survive in the same type of situation. I firmly believe a scenario of this type (or similar terrorist action) can and will happen in the future--it is just a matter of when and where. We should all take precautionary measures and have a preparedness kit in our home as recommended by the Homeland Security and the American Red Cross websites. Thank you CBS for reviving a great show---just wish you hadn't killed off Gerald McRaney. He is an awesome actor and was a major contributor to the show. GREAT show with Imagination.....true, it's a scenerio I hope NEVER happens....but what if? That show gives an audience a lot to think about. The acting was great and everything was plausible. Geral McRaney could be brought back, as to "fake" his death....for whatever reason. It is so wonderful to know that someone really is out there listening to THE PEOPLE! My husband just served 29 years in the military, (the rest of our family served the last 20 years of his career) and I can tell you that human nature depicted on "Jericho" is closer to reality than so called reality shows. It's amazing to watch good souls come together to fight against the darknesses of which man is capable. The military becomes a FAMILY when times get tough and Americans are isolated someplace far from home. The worse the conditions, the closer we become. And we all know how seemingly ordinary people become HEROES when they must. We see it in the news often enough. However, on the flip side, who hasn't watched the shelves of the local supermarket clear completely of items when there's an impending natural disaster? People start out polite and very quickly become rude-to-downright dangerous. When demands outweigh supply, the bad sides of human nature show. Survival instincts are all powerful! "Jericho"hasn't shown a lot of the worst that men are capable of, and it hasn't shown too much grey area either. People from the town of "Jericho" generally represent good, with small town evil represented by the actively powerful men of "New Bern". But, it wouldn't be too hard for the tables to turn, would it? We'll miss Gerald McRaney. He was a great alpha male with terrific leadership abilities. We've seen that "Jake" is closer to him than his "good" son. We need the strong male characters of "Jake", "Hawkins", and "Stanley". We simply must find out what's happening with government outside of "Jericho". But our small town in Kansas is the center of the Universe for the duration of the show. May that be a very long time. The writers have done a terrific job so far. Thanks for the ride! There have been so many shows that I never watched twice. "Jericho" had my family hooked from the very beginning and it only got better. The characters have some depth and the storyline caused us to think. Just because something is threatening doesn't mean that we shouldn't face it. Keep writing provocative shows!!!! Challenge us!

I also have a copy of the 1959 classic "Alas Babylon" and as a retired USAF officer I have to say the TV show sucked by comparison. All the endless little subplots. Finally a network that cares about QUALITY! I loathe to watch "reality" shows, I have a brain, after all.... So we have a imaginative AND reality-based show, lots of twists and turns, an AMAZING ensemble cast! Where to go: Heather will come back, the Marines will help (?), Hawkins will use the tank, then abandon it and disappear (for a while), New Bern will get pushed back (for a while?) OR Jake will destroy New Bern (or atleast the Mayor) since they killed his father. Jake will step up to the plate as co-leader with his brother. Someone will discover the bomb in the shed and.... And possibly Hawkins daughter will step into his role as family protector. Someone will try and ransack the spring/summer harvests? And there will be a wedding!!! :) But, I will miss "Mac" as the patriarch of Jericho. I have been a fan of Geralds since "Simon and Simon". Miss you dude! I hope they will re-air the season 1 over the summer???

Sorry, the show as not that good but I do have to applaud CBS because they actually listened to the shows fans and brought it back from cancellation, if only for 1 more season to see if it gains in the ratings. Unfortunately other networks such as Fox, ABC and my favorite, Sci-Fi Channel (which is owned by NBC) do not bend to the pressures of the people who keep them in business and cancel so many good shows, such as Sci-Fi Channel did with Stargate SG1 after a run of 10 seasons. Jericho was the best new show last season. I had to tape it due my busy schedule, but later would watch it and narrate the details of each scene for my blind father, who absolutely loves this show. It sparks discussion about ongoing current events, history, government, sociology, and humanistic basic traits. It shows the potential fragility of our current world. Forget those so called reality shows. If I wanted reality I would go outside. Much like Jericho, try waking up the day after Katrina in MS. for glimpse of reality. OK, here's how Gerald McRaney can come back--> LAST episode: he was in his house badly wounded, laying on the table...He closed his eyes, breathing virtually non-existant, and the camera cuts to the boys breaking down and crying...just then Mom comes in the door! She throws herself over him crying as the camera cuts to the boys going out on the porch to tell the troops the bad news. We never see him again and ASSUME he is dead. Now NEXT episode: Camera opens on Mom (who is a nurse, mind you) still laying over her husband thinking he is dead, when she all of a sudden she sees a tear rolling down his cheek...She immediately jumps into action applying CPR, calling for help, and doing all the home-grown nurse-things one does to bring someone back from the brink! Gerald McRaney of course survives, just like the show...! Now...THANK YOU, CBS, for doing the right thing and bringing back this wonderful show!!!

As many other stated, this is the ONE show on TV that I make sure to watch each week. I also had not heard it was about to be canceled but I am sure glad that decision was reversed. I don't watch TV anymore because other than Jericho and perhaps CSI, NCIS and Criminal Minds, there is nothing worth watching. I don't know who they are that watch those reality crap shows, but I for one, cannot stand any of them. Something like Jericho is my kind of story. Something based around real people, real life, a REAL possible future reality and how it MIGHT play out were it to occur. What is really scary is the premise for the attack, trucks carrying nukes driving to each city and exploding them is something that could very well happen. I do not think people realize how truly easy it would be to do this - so watching Jericho has given me something to watch that is a feasible future unless we do something about it before it is too late. The only criticism I have, if you can call it one, is where are people like me in the show?? Other than Gerald McRaney who was an ex-marine, where are all the other military veterans, guardsmen and active duty? We Vets are small percentage of the population I know, but every town has veterans of military service. Those people would definitely step forward in scenarios like Jericho and would be able to help set up proper defense measures, training of basic tactics etc etc. I know I would as a Vet.

I am an avid fan of Jericho too and nothing makes me happier to have this wonderful dramatic series brought back from cancellation. I have faithfully sumbitted emails and faxes and made numerous phone calls to Nina's office and sent nuts too. I have never been this passionate about anything ever before and there would have been no stopping me and alot of the other fans of ths show until its return. This show is about community and looking out for each other even in the most devastating of events. Its not about who is sleeping with who, or switching wives, or living on an island, or whether or not you can sing or dance. I am sooo sick to death of programs where all you do is sit there and look at the tv screen and wonder- "Why do I pay so much for cable when there's nothing good on to watch even with 400 channels"- and seriously think about having it disconnected because one of the only shows I felt was worth watching has been cancelled. This wonderful Jericho came along and made me and my entire family sit down together and watch and discuss the possiblities of the what ifs. I can't even get my family to sit down together and eat all together at the same time but we watch this show all together every week. This is the only night we actually do eat together. I am not about to lose this quality show and not about to lose this family moment. I don't think CBS thought it would have this effect on the viewers that it does and I want to commend them for having the courage to bring it back. Now we need to step up again and show them just how right they were to do this.

Though I liked the show, I think if it doesn't come back in September, as opposed to a mid-season replacement, it will loose momemtum. CBS will most likely ask for 8 low-budget episodes as a mid-season replacement and that will be a recipe for failure. Everyone wants this show now, but we are as fickle as TV producers. I remember how gung ho I was about the show in the beginning, but when I didn't see it for a while, it became a chore to watch once it came back on.

CBS FINALLY did something right!! We were praying that the SCI-FI channel would pick up Jericho since it was dropped by CBS. We also Ti-vo Jericho (as well as 24) for the simple reason that we can fast forward through the commercials!! Jericho is one of the best shows on TV right behind 24. These are the ONLY two shows we watch on regular television. We are fed up with the idiot reality tv shows, the vulgar comedy shows and the constant commercials. Its great news that Jericho is returning. CBS did a good thing here. But I also think its an important message for all the networks. You cannot just pick up a series with a continuing storyline and drop it after a few episodes or even one season. These shows have plot lines the run over as many as five seasons when they are conceived. IF you do not have an escape plan that gives these shows the word in enough time to wrap things up then you shouldn't be putting them on the air. I have screamed bloody murder if LOST has been canned afater 13 episodes. And I'm still fuming at FOX over the cancellation of DRIVE which was a fairly unique concept for a series. Too many unanswered questions and no satisfying resolution to any of them. Thank goodness we get to see the two final episodes of DRIVE on July 4th on FOX.

The idea for the show and casting were excellent. Toward the end, they didn't seem to have a very good direction for the plot. It started out as must see TV. Toward the end I barely watched. I don't think it will have a life beyond the next 7 episodes.

To Mekarri in Atlanta GA who finds it sad that people rallied to a television show but won't rally to stopping the war - on one hand, I agree with you. It's amazing what we could get done if we all stood together and spoke up. On the other hand, because of television shows just like this one, many people are far too desensitized to actually believe in the realities of war. Unfortunately, they tend to see the war in Iraq as being another drama on TV much like their beloved "reality" shows. And far, far too many people shrug their shoulders and walk away when it comes to voting, the one way in which they could have a voice, choosing to let others decide for them what happens in the world. They truly feel like a part of something grand when they "save" a TV show; all anyone can do is let them have their moment of pride. Some of use do feel like fighting for change in the areas that are truly important: the war, the economy, healthcare, education... for the rest of you, enjoy the show.

Thanks for saving the show! I know the story line can be limited...once things get back to "normal", but at least it will be good to finish telling the wonderful story they've weaved so far. Excellent writing and acting, you can't help but feel a part of it and feel the characters' hurt and pain and happiness and hope. I can't wait to see what happens next! And indeed, it is a "thinker" show, much like a show from 10yrs ago that wasn't given a fair chance to be told - "The Visitor" only lasted 13 episodes and we all fought hard to keep that show alive but FOX wouldn't have it. :( So it's good to not lose a second show I love so much. :) Makes TV worthwhile watching for that one hour a week.

Great news about a great show. I'm glad we'll get a chance to find out the "Why" behind the bombs and what happens to the bomb in Haskin's basement. I hope the Marines are able to halt the battle with New Bern, though it would be ok with me if Dale got shot first :-). Too bad we couldn't send all those nuts to Jericho and New Bern! There are so many things that could happen still - food problems and replacing other things (like clothes) as they wear out. More refugees and wandering outlaws, foreign aid, and of course developments in the lives of the characters. I can't wait to see what the writers will do next. I just hope it's able to keep an 8pm time slot.

Great show – great cast – great premise – very happy to know it’s coming back. In my opinion “Jericho” is a very needed program in today’s world. There is very little “positive” television programming that teaches the youth of this nation about the marvelous powers of love and about the rewards from hard work. The show also teaches compassion (even for your enemies). With all of the trash that networks are calling programming, “Jericho” is a very refreshing change of direction. I don’t know what the future holds for this nation, but with US troops in conflict in Iraq, Afghanistan, and the Persian Gulf, and our president stirring up trouble with Iran, Syria, North Korea, and now Russia, I don’t really feel that “Jericho” is that far-fetched. If we as a nation continue to export violence at the present rate – something is bound to happen here, and Katrina is more than a perfect example of just how barbaric a “civilized” nation can become when people are deprived of the basic needs (food, clean water, shelter, etc.) and that was just a hurricane. I’m sure everyone can imagine what would happen if we were hit by terrorists during a natural disaster. We have become so weak and so reliant on technology, I would venture to say that most folks would have a real tough time if a scenario like that ever played out for real. Thanks CBS for bringing back the best TV show I’ve seen in way too long!

Thank you CBS for returning one of the very few shows worth watching. The premise allows some real thought to what might happen and how people may survive. After living through the "cold war" and threats, this show is not only entertaining but thought provoking for a younger audience that does not remember. I have never seen one episode of ANY season of Survivor, Amazing Race, or any other reality show other than the final rounds of IDOL. For me, seeing a story unfold is what I watch movies and the occasional TV series. That's why I followed Jericho from day one. Even though after the 2nd or 3rd episode I began to question why I was spending the time watching, there were some great acting going on (Gerald rules!). To end a show with the words "Fire" then fade to black is an injustice to the viewers who stuck by the show. While I was not part of the protest movement, I am glad there are those who took the time out of their day to express their frustrations with the network's decision. I do, however, wish we as a people would be just a passionate about other issues that are much more important. On a lighter note, once Heros, 24 and Jericho ended for the season, I found that I really did look forward to seeing those shows.

It is a must see in our household, if heaven forbid we can't see it and then forget to put a tape in to record it, I am so bummed. I actually got into a fight with my Husband the one time he forgot to get it recorded. I am anxiously awaiting the return. Am so hooked on this show!!! I really think it points out how we Americans can do for ourselves. At least Middle America can. Not too sure about people on either coast, they seem to be too wrapped up in their own egos.

I applaud CBS for being a network that finally listens to what it's viewers want. My husband and I love this show and were very upset to hear that it had been cancelled. Over the years so many good shows have been lost by fans because the networks refused to keep a quality show because of ratings. I realize ratings are a big deal to the networks, but how do you expect fans to even get interested in shows any more if the networks keep pulling them off the air after only three weeks or a season? That is why my husband and I rarely watch anything new - because every time we do, and we like the show, it disappears because it didn't get huge ratings. I am so thrilled to see that Jericho will be back. I don't watch much TV but when I find a show like Jericho I get hooked. I've lost other quality shows over the years and it's like losing a good friend. I wasn't ready to lose Jericho so lightly after only one season. I do think the mid-season hiatus hurt it — it was too long a break. What happened to the days when the season went through fall and winter and then in spring and summer we got the reruns? I think the way things are being done now hurts a lot of the shows. People lose interest during the long breaks. Thank you for listening to the people. I look forward to seeing how the situation that left us hanging gets to play out. I too, mourn the loss of Gerald McRaney — a true, quality actor. But it will be interesting to see Jake step up to the plate and evolve into a leader. Thanks for giving the show another chance.

Great article and it will be wonderful to have the show back. Gerald McRaney will be missed in season 2 for sure, but hopefully will be in a few flashback scenes. I think maybe in the next season, we will see the Gray Anderson character grow and take on an important role as the mayor of the town. Michael Gaston is a great actor and did a wonderful job in this role last season. Without Johnston around, Gray will need to pick up some slack, and will need to learn to cooperate with Hawkins, Jake, Eric, and the rest of the town's heroes.

A fairy tale ending for a mythic battle. CBS showed great courage in producing JERICHO in the first place and even more to trust that it’s devoted fans will help to get the word out about how good this show really is. So many who worked to bring the show back are just as shocked at our actions (having never protested a cancellation before) as we are with CBS quickly renewing our show! Polite, professional persistence moved CBS. CBS programmers wanted JERICHO back but the numbers from just the Nielsen's did not support them. It was up against American Idol and came in consistently as second in it’s time slot. Not bad against a JUGGERNAUT! But we the fans were out there using new media to enjoy this thought provoking and intriguing drama. I would urge all readers who were not watching JERICHO thinking that it might be too dark or hopeless, to check out the free downloads that CBS provides at their website. Having worked for 4 years in NORAD in the 60s this program is good to see since it presents a curent plausible scenario of home grown terrorists setting off improvised Nukes. I's interesting to see the cities named as hit being most of the ones OBL wants to hit in his American Heroshima program. It is good to see that the premiss is set forth that people can survive a Nuclear hit like that shown. Most movies in the past posture that all is hopeless. In my training in NORAD we found out that due to the direction of and intensity of winds in any given are of the country, a large part of the nation would be untouched by the promary or secondary effects of such an event, thus making survival much like Jerico id portraying.

CBS has the only shows I watch for network TV. Between Jericho, CSI: NY (Wednesday), CSI (Thursday), and Numb3rs (Friday) - that's it for network TV. I am so glad that Jericho was revived. I was riveted to the set for the Season Finale and and cried real tears when Mac died. My husband and cats disappeared whenever the show came on, because I was so into the show. I clapped, cried, and yelled at the TV characters for whatever needed doing while the story advanced.

I was waiting for the show to start its "Bad Old Government" diatribe and it would probably lose me at that point. We'll see what happens in Season 2.

Ratings are dead. If you look at all the other ways people can see a show (streaming, i-tunes, tivo, etc. etc.) the Nielson ratings are about as outdated as the black and white televisions. The networks need to see what shows people are watching. My cousin and I watched Jericho every week. Then we buy it on I-tunes so we can catch what we might have missed. We now plan to buy the DVD when it comes out so that we have other options of watching it and hopefully get some commentaries, behind the scenes items, and other extras. It's a great show and we are both elated that it's back. Now if they'll give "The Class" another shot (please).

First the link just said "fans". Then it said "nutty fans". Then it said "dedicated, nutty fans". Now it's back to "nutty fans". I thought the use of the word "nutty" to be disparaging and was fairly upset. So I got the first episode and watched it (I don't watch much TV ever). I'm hooked. Now, I'd previously read about the peanuts thing, but hadn't made the connection to the link headline. Now it makes sense. Still, I'm glad you p***ed me off. The writers are going to have quite a time continuing the story without falling into the very predictable and inevitable lines such a story follows (and would be the inevitable results in reality). A good example of the usual line is Niven and Pournelle's "Hammerfall". About the only other result than can be found there (and many other similar near-Armageddon stories) is that of "The Day After", and that wouldn't make for much of a season, since it made for a 2 hour TV movie with a most definite ending. At least we've progressed well beyond the spiky-haired pseudo-punks thrown into way too many such stories, following the lead of "Max Headroom's" original Australian pilot and the Mad Max collection. Even Costner fell into this trap with "Waterworld" after managing to stick to a far more reasonable and rational line in "The Postman".

The killing off of Gerald McRaney was absolutely STUPID. He was the anchor of the series and CBS better find a way to bring him back as his walking by a tank in battle instead of in it was without merit for a military man.
I could care less about the bald CIA bad guy or the other nonsense of Jake torn between 2 lovers. The real show are the families doing superhuman things for their families and their community.
In that the writers of Jericho are horrid as they show no sense, no preparing the town for defense, NO LEADING RELIGIOUS FIGURE as all American communities depended greatly upon them and not realizing that farmer corn harvested hybrids which will not sprout for food so there is no Victory Gardens like in World War II.
Jericho needs a viewer to oversee their off the mark stories and challenge them to deal with issues and not conclude that a few wind generators are going to make it all better.
They need to stop killing off the characters, make Mr. McRaney's death a ruse to fool the enemy as one of their agents had sold out to the group (how about the Mayor since they sent him packing as he was too vital in command.), start showing the delight in accomplishing a garden, a loom, breeding animals for food and actually have the people look like they are squeaky clean.
Storylines: Bob Dole comes to Jericho to calm fears, Jake chooses a wife, Robert deals a fake bomb and the deaf girl has a vision from God.

Great decision for a quality show. Just remember why CBS chose to cancel it in the first place. A smaller viewing audience that continued to shrink as the season went along. The network was partly responsible, putting the show in a "coma" with a long break mid-season, which happened to several other shows that also suffered for those programming decisions. Audiences are smaller and ratings are harder to track then ever in our cable-fragmented, TIVO-viewing world, so if you really like a show, you have to make some noise or it will become the next Jericho, without a reprieve.

The best direction the show needs to take has nothing to do with plot lines or charachters, but the marketing department for the show. Strangers to the show never tuned in because they probably didn't kwow it was on. There were commercials for every CSI on every break, but Jericho got their name showed only, not mentioned in the ad. Also they need to promote the charachters more ala Lettermen, Leno, so on. Heroes did this perfectly, really who is cooler duo Skeet & Hawkins or Hiro & Ando?? Marketing made us love Hiro & Ando, and adequate marketing of the show is ultimately the only way to save it the second time around. I wish to thank CBS for bringing back a show that for me personally got more exciting as the year progressed much like 24 did in years past, it will be must see tv and my family.

WOW!!! This is great, but we have to stay dilligent and keep CBS and everyone on their toes. The best thing is that we aren't getting shafted and our voices were heard. I would hope that when it does return, that it is on a different night or maybe a different time slot. Wednesday's up against a insipid reality show after a three-month break was not a good move by the network. Networks have always dropped better shows (Star Trek, Keen Eddie, Slap Maxwell, Buffalo Bill) because of faulty decision making. I am cautiously hopefull that CBS will let this show find it's core audience and expand into something like CSI or Without a Trace. I hope, but I am also aware of that classic "The Last Voyage of the Starship Enterprise." that appeared 7 years later...LOL

I only have 2 shows that I watch on Network TV. Jericho and Lost. Of course, they have both been critically debated. Why? Because these shows make us think.
Unfortunately, most people want to watch happy dancing pretty people, where everything is solved in a half hour. They don't want to wait and see what is coming.
Life is a journey, not a destination. And its not always easy. I want to enjoy these 2 shows for a few more years and see where they take us.

I too rejoiced when "Jericho" was saved--my husband and I are part of the Boomer generation and I was furious that the network was so focused on young adults that it was ignorning a HUGE part of the show's fan base when they tallied up the show's ratings. Not many of the people we know would be caught dead watching trashy so-called "reality TV" and a lot of us were completely caught up in "Jericho."

I do feel that a major misstep was made when the writers killed off Johnston, though--and not just because he was from our generation, either. It was the moronic equivalent of killing off Ben Cartwright at the end of the first season of "Bonanza"--how long do you think that show would have run without its anchor? You don't kill off the patriarch, guys! In a country of broken homes, who knows how many thousands of kids were listening to McRaney's character each week with longing, wishing they had a Dad like that to raise them?

I hope "Jericho" goes on for many seasons, but it will never now be the show it could have been, had Johnston been spared. We'll watch it faithfully though--it's original TV in a sea of rip-off, mindless programming. It's my hope too that the networks soon catch onto the fact that they're polling inaccurately and missing many, many viewers like my family.

What could possibly be better television than Jericho? How many shows on television today have such dramatic endings week after week and keeps the audience on the edge of their seats? I can't remember a single episode that didn't have Hichkok ending at which point I would stand up from my seat and say, "That's it? They can't leave us hanging like that for a week? That can't be it!!" Then I would proceed to rush to the internet at work the next day to pick up clues as to what happened after the screen went black. What a fun and exciting show, and a breath of fresh TV. Finally a show that lets the main actors die, when faced with death. It makes one think, when real life is with real consiquences. The character of Gerald McRainey needs to be explored more, or at least bring such heroic and wisdom to new character's that will be in future shows. I just saw that Season One of Jericho is going to be rerun starting in July, so you can get caught up if you missed it.

If the Marines swoop in to help, then I'm wondering what they're going to want in return for their help. And why are there only a few stars on their flag? Do they really represent the U.S. government or are they a military group that's running its own little dictatorship?

My feeling is that the people must survive this attack on their town. Next up, we need to find out who the people are who were behind the bombing and what possible gain they have gotten from it. That is the question that looms large for this story. Why take out the government unless you think that there is some way to reorganize the people who are left under some new government or group of governments.

Then there's the question of foreign governments. We already saw that China dropped food from planes to help people, but what other plans are in the works for help or harm from foreign countries?

The prospects are too exciting!

Yes, so glad this is coming back. I was not happy when it was cancelled. One of the very few shows on tv worth watching. I make sure I am home to watch and won't usually even tape it because I want to see it right away to see the next installment. This is a show where the creativity combined with a wonderful group of actors/actresses make it well worth watching each week and waiting for the next show as well. Jericho was/is one of the best series on in a a while. The only other good shows CBS has is the CSI and it's 2 spin-offs. and Lost which kinda got too lost..sometimes that lead to dis-interest as did that dumb Survival. But people let me tell ya, when I happened to catch a preview of the first Jericho, I flipped out!! I went to a serch site on my puter to try and find out more about this up-coming new series..and I did on CBS.com..
Since it's beginning, I kept finding myself wishing it was a 2 hour episode on every week..showing more of what some cool writers could come up with for this series, instead of every week wasting time re-capping bits from other episodes. Just show a little then get on with the next episode.
As it was, began taping each episode to watch again, until this season came out on DVD to buy.
Actually, this is a series meant to last as long as Gunsmoke if not longer, a definite 'Classic', as was all the Star Trek, and its spin=offs were only put together in just one...Jericho that CBS introduced on a lousy Wednesday night. Oh Geesh, and at 7pm which made it rough for too many people schedules.
8 p.m. woulda made more sense for starters as would have and it's being on THAT night, the only thing good on. There's not much else on TV except back-back episodes of REBA(on diff network), ER, and the 3-CSI series scattered around.
It's just that CBS doesn't really know they have a new 'Dallas or Gunsmoke' on their hands. This baby can go on for a long time, protraying the re-birth of a whole new America, a new world, a society where the series can blend in the real future of there being more space stations built, reaching out to find new galaxies, new earths..yet 'good guys like Jake and Hawkins' fighting some REALLY bad guys in outer space like, like OO7... did. Too many writers of this generation seem to be TOO mentally limited or TOO small-minded or just fraidy-cats to express being able to forsee as I and many others can with continued development of this uncanny series. You got a 'hottie' here CBS, only you just ain't been handling it nor the actors and actresses right. It's boiling over with so much potential and you put it on a lame night at a lame time to begin with.. I had to tell sooo many people which night and what time it was on... I dunno, but it seems Wednes nights are a bum night or too busy a night to be watchin' TV for too many. Add the present government's messin with our ecomony in such a way that too many have had to take on 2nd and 3rd jobs to stay afloat in America for quite a while, so they've had to rely on taping the show or in hopes to buy each season as it comes out. So you see, a lot of factors play into the success or failure of a series. In this case, the head of the ratings dept sould be canned as well as the past advisors.. If McRaney quit prior, they must have paid him a lot to NOT tell the truth of why he was quitting, which leads me to believe it was the ones 'above' him and the other stars in the show repeatedly making bad decisions promting him to get off the 'Titanic' before it was destined to crash into an iceburg.. I saw it coming the moment I had missed a Wednesday night episode, being too busy until 8pm... That happened a few times 'til I programmed my trusty ole VCR...just in case.. Wednesday night at 7pm was, overall, bad timing for CBS...making it too hard for the too busy normal watcher to catch it regardless of being told it was/is an awesome series..
So we need better heads of CBS and probably better directors of the series are really are serious about entertaining their viewers and not just out to make a fast buck and move on... Don't destroy or let this 'sleeper' gold mine slip through your fingers... Open your mind and forsee...

Gerald, Gerald, Gerald we MISS You! I can think of several different ways to bring him back that would fit in with the storyline (not flashbacks). These are obviously great writers; they can do it if Gerald could be convinced to return for all his fans. I just found out not so long ago that it was cancelled. I was so not just depressed but MAD. Cancelling the "Good Ones" is getting really old. Thank you CBS so much. You've restored my faith that the "little people" do matter. My only concern is why we are being teased with only 7 more episodes. If CBS is serious in pleasing their fans; then stop the tease. I did not miss one program, however, the only way I was able to watch was because of DVR, I'm at church on Wednesday nights. I like to watch it on DVR anyway so that I can rewind and/or watch again. I'm not sure how the Nielsen ratings are done, but they haven't worked in years. Jericho is THE BEST show I have seen in a long time. I'm even watching the repeats.

"Jericho" is probably one of the most compelling dramas of our time! I was recording "another show" on "another channel" in the same time slot and only caught the last couple of episodes. Then I saw that it was streaming online, watched the pilot and I WAS HOOKED!!! CBS, please do not take this show off the air... again... not yet!!!!

I know you are concerned with ratings but for those of us who can't sit there and watch it (people who have prime time obligations) when it comes on, it is NOT FAIR!!! This is one of the best TV dramas I have ever seen. Please consider how many downloads, phone calls, emails and all other forms of viewer feedback before considering another cancellation. The writing and the filming is just superb!!!!
Watching via the web has given me one of the most pleasurable viewing experiences of my life.

I am so glad they are bringing, continuing this show, it is one of the best. I personally think they should keep this one on the air regardless of ratings!! I know ratings are everything in their business, they should overlook this one show and just let it stay on the air, or otherwise I hope another network will pick it up.

They will probably bring back McRaney in flashbacks, like the wedding scene in the last (or was it 2nd to last) episode. Jake has to be a leader now, and what better motivator is there than the memory of his father? Or it could even be Eric's flashback since Jake didn't have a good relationship.

Don't get all happy now that the show is coming back, it's only 7 episodes. We need to get out there and introduce others to the show. Send them to the cbs website to get caught up and ready for the new season.

I watched the whole series in two days and I love it. I haven't enjoyed a CBS show this much in a long time. I'm glad CBS stepped up and un-canceled this show. In my opinion, Jericho is CBS's best show, and no, The g-Unit or "CIS-Mexico City" ... "CIS-Hovering Squid World 97a" is not their leading show. So, I say let them cancel the crap sitcoms and annoying reality shows. Thank goodness in the last couple of years, TV made the transition away from reality shows. Great job in turning Skeet Ulrich into a decent character, I used to think he as a cross between Johnny Depp and KFed. There's a great story, wonderful acting and dialog. Jericho and many other shows like Lost, October Road, Heros, KVille, etc. are proof that TV is back!

The only thing that spoiled the return of Jericho was the absence of Gerald McRainey. Please bring him back. I know it would be a huge stretch but if Dallas could do it back in the 80's, there's got to be a way.
It will never be the same without him.
