We are all here to make judgements on most everything in our lives. That is how we live our lives every day and those judgements/decisions are a direct reflection of our morals and education or, more tritely, our values. Secondly, do we judge Washington incapable of redemption, and if we do, based on what? Of course if someone is contrite shouldn't they get another chance? I judge Washington to be a fairly typical human, bad tempered, occasionally hair triggered and judgemental himself. I further judge him to have had some of the scales knocked from his eyes and I think that he may be on the path to doing far more than just walking the straight and narrow to stay out of trouble. An investment now in folks like him will, hopefully be an investment in us all.

'Bionic Woman': Producer defends Washington casting

Isiah needs to go back from where he came from. Isaiah Washington likely has faced more racism all his life as a black man, than his white former co-star who hadn't even officially come out of the closet. While no doubt there are plenty of gay and lesbians out there that are of different race. I feel that Isaiah has been treated badly in this situation. This story should have died quite some time ago. Imagine if everytime you had an arguement with a co-worker or spouse, your every word was scrutinized for any possible offensive word and then plastered all over your local newspaper. I think that the Gay Rights activists picked the wrong story to ride so hard in the press. They were and still are out to ruin a man who likely has had a harder time facing discrimination than they ever have. No one has a right to know what your sexual preference is behind closed doors, but it's pretty hard to hide that you are a person of color. Now that I have written this, I am worried that I may have not used the proper or "politically correct" terms. I am a married white mother of 2. His personal views are very relevant... if he expresses them publicly. I believe the biggest problem facing celebrities is they are always in the public eye. Talent or not, your public actions dictate who you are to the masses. Michael Jackson, Lindsay Lohan, Paris Hilton, Nick Nolte, Jan Michael Vincent, Britney Spears - to name a few. Are these people nice in person and just regular people, probably. But their actions in public become known hundredfold because of their celebrity. Any everyday joe would not be hung-out to dry for saying racist slurs par-se by the masses, but a TV star... you bet your life your lifestyle is relevant as is your open public opinion.

'Bionic Woman': Producer defends Washington casting

When I heard about on the Grey's set I was upset as a africian american, beacause for centuries there have been so may words that people have used in speech and written word to put the race down as a people, so I was really suprised that a educated black male would do this to us. However listen to Mr. Washington it gave me much better insight to what his state of mind and how he was using the word. I think if people searched their souls, they would find that they have almost all said something in the heat of the moment that hurt or offended someone. I spoke with a very good friend of mine who is gay and he said he doesn't feel it was fair to fire Washington either. He understands that most of us have used a derogatory term to hurt or upset someone in a moment of anger. However, there seems to be more attention placed on race and sexuality. If the court of public opinion wants to punish actors for discriminatory terms then it should be for ALL terms across the board. Not just a few specific ones. I wish Mr. Washington luck in his future endeavors and I'm sure this situation has taught him to think before he's speaks when upset.

'Bionic Woman': Producer defends Washington casting

Generally, an actor's personal life is of no concern to fans of their movies, films or shows. However, when they display racist, bigoted or intolerant remarks, fans are going to be alienated. In this case, Grey's Anatomy made the decision to let Isaiah Washington go after he said the same shameful remarks about gays for the 2nd time at an awards show later in the year. Isaiah then said he was sorry and made the public service announcements denouncing bigotry. It was a little too late. When you are in a public official, or an actor -- you are subject to a higher standard because of your job. Your job depends on public opinion. He created the situation and got fired. He should be forgiven and allowed to find another job as he has done, however, I am not watching another show with him in it.

'Bionic Woman': Producer defends Washington casting

Pleeeeeese.Let's get over it.If someone calls another person an idiot, they have an argument then it's over.So what if he used an anti-gay slur. How many people can honestly say they have never used a slur, whether it's gay, racist, fat, skinny, religious or whatever. Get over it. This show, if done properly, would have been a big hit with both gays and lesbians. I will not be watching any show this bigot is in until he becomes a man and truly apologizes and stops trying to drag T.R. into his mess of lies. Does anyone stop to think how this could have affected T.R.'s career? There is obviously still a lot of anti gay bigotry in the US and Hollywood. ABC really screwed up this time. Did you not learn from The View. See how that one bit you back.

'Bionic Woman': Producer defends Washington casting

B. Knight or whatever his name is used the incident to his advantage and everyone else, except Catherine Heigle, who is about as stupid as they come, kept their mouth shut to make Washington out to be the bad guy. He is a superior actor to everyone else on the show. It was clear to see after everything happened that the cast did not like Washington. I'm glad he was fired. Now he can move on to bigger and better things. Washington was the primary reason I watched that show. I WILL NEVER WATCH GREYS ANATOMY AGAIN. He was by far the best actor on the show. The show now consists of a group of people running around with a weak plot. I will not be long before Grey's Anatomy is cancelled. When the show is cancelled, lets see who is going to hire a simi talented actor like T.R. Knight. The only person that may have a change of another roll is Patrick Dempsey only because he revived his career with the roll. Catherine Heigle will marry a rich man and the rest of them will go back to nowhere where they came from.

'Bionic Woman': Producer defends Washington casting

Everyone's flipping out about Isiah Washington...

Me, I'm upset that they threw out the deaf sister.
