Jericho is a great show. I am glad the "NUTS" campaign brought CBS to their senses. I have to agree with Lynn. I was stunned by that discision. I thought this was actually one show that would and SHOULD get the boot.. I watched the very 1st episode and LOVED it, bragging to everyone the next day how interesting it would be, especially the plot of the escaped convicts.. But unlike LOST and any quality show that would leave you guessing for an entire Season who the convicts are, the end that plot the very next episode with a REALLY bad shoot-out ala "the A-team" where only the bad guys die.

Predictable, forgetable acting, characters you just can't get into no matter how hard you try and filmed with a budget probably less then any 70's show. Episode after episode I tried to see the value in it or get into the characters but some shows pull you in and are extremely "Smart" (like Battlestar Galactica of all shows) while other shows simply make you feel less-intellegent for watching it. Jericho was the ladder, and felt like highschool kids were writing it with no knowledge of suspense or compelling plot twists and only had their parents farm to film it on.

You have to care enough about the characters to "Live" for it to be suspenseful.. I honestly didn't care who died next because they'd probably die in a bad-acted, low budget way anyway and who would care? "Oooo did you see them kill that ARMY of 15 poorly dressed film-crew walk-ons that couldn't die more convincingly then Civil War re-enactors?? Masterfully done!" Apparently there's a LOT of fans out there that miss the Mediocrity of those poorly written, planned and low-budget 70's and 80's shows.

For the love of God.. end this show and raise the intelligence level of our National Average!

We are so tired of police procedurals (what's next CSI: Tuscon?) and mind-numbing reality : America's Next Inventor, Producer, Top Model, Cab Driver, Who Thinks They Can Dance, Sing, Tell a Joke, Get a Life, et. al. My husband and I are both doctors and I would imagine some people would think we are intelligent. We love everything about Jericho. Jericho's ability to entertain, and at the same time challenge the mind, makes it a multi-leveled powerhouse. This kind of show takes time to build an audience (duh!), so kudos to the fans for keeping it alive.

I have never watched Jericho before. I am just not a big fan of TV, really. However I'd like to point out something about Jericho that I haven't seen mentioned here. We are an open society and no matter how hard we try, one day terrorists may get inside our borders with nuclear weapons (especially with the miniaturization of technology), and whether we like it or not, someday we may face such nuclear strikes. Part of the draw of Jericho, I then believe, is getting us thinking about how we, ourselves, would react in such a situation. Would we degenerate into mere animals barely etching out a means for survival? Would we draw together in faith and comradre to re-build what was lost? Would local governments try to impose "Big Brother" rule over the scattered communities in an attempt to bring about some kind of "new order"? To look for the answer to these questions in an on-going TV show, I think, is absolutely ground-breaking. It has been approached lightly here and there with a TV movie or two, but they barely scratched the surface.

Jericho was a great show that never really got a fair chance. First, CBS split the season, with many viewers not returning when it came back on the air. I personally HATED having to wait for months for additional episodes to air, and I think CBS would have seen how strong a show Jericho is if they'd not split it up the way they did.

I am very happy to see Jericho return!! I am a little upset, however, that MacRaney will not be returning, as he seemed to be the steady hand guiding the ship (so to speak).

If anyone from CBS is reading this....KEEP Jericho and other shows like it, and DUMP those stupid (and pointless) reality shows! I watch very little network t.v. because it seems to be mostly reality shows (that all copy one another, or are the 20th version of the same boring show).

Give Jericho a fair chance....and everyone remember to tune in. If they get the ratings, they'll keep the show!

There are many talented actors out there who need the work and I for one am so tierd of the shows that bring out the worst in our human nature ~ making fun of others, plotting against another team member, trying to outwit someone for the man or woman of your dreams.........really, that is human nature, but do we need to view it ad nausium. There are other really good casts on TNT in The Closer, and perhaps even the premier of Saving Grace ~ try Lifetime's Army wives if you want to see a pretty good ensemble of actors with a decent story line. There's so much really bad work on TV and more often copy cat work that I liked the idea that Jerihco represents a not-so far fetched idea that deals with a community of people fighting for something rather than individuals fighting for their own comfort........If you watch TV, keep writing in.

I'm so glad to hear that Jericho is coming back, even if it is only for a limited 7 show run to clean up some of the open questions that were left over. It was the only network TV show that I actually watched each week. It looks as if it will be the only one that I will watch this year too. We can only hope that the network is intelligent enough to ask for a fulll seasons worth of episodes to follow, so we can continue to watch this wonderfully interesting and original story for several more years to come. It was extremely realistic in its protrayal of what people would go through in that sort of situation and I couldn't wait for the next show to come one. I only wish taht they had shown reruns so that I could have caught the first show that I missed before I figured out what night it was on. I will definiotely be one of the first in line to buy the DVD of the first season.

Some of you may recall that we also brought back, "Beauty and the Beast" and look how that turned out! Linda didn't want to do the show anymore and they totally killed her off, and ended it in such a horrible way, I couldn't even watch all the episodes I'd taped ever again. When letting the network know you want it to go on and on, don't forget to say you don't care if they cast someone else in a lead role. Otherwise, they even ruin the memories!!

Cynthia, I think you've hit the nail on the head! But if you TVO or DVR, you could skip the commercials, so it's no wonder they don't count us. (But if they did, they could charge more for advertising). We have two cable boxes and can tape 4 shows at a time, yet Nielsen has never called my home to find out what we're watching or recording. And people, you have no idea how irritating it can be to a proofreader to have all those typos, bad grammar, etc., however unintentional and unintelligible they may be. Self included.

I was involved in saving Jericho and I'd do it all again in a heartbeat. While you can't expect everyone to love this show, it's pretty obvious there are a ton of us "nuts' out there that are jumping for joy now that it's back.
Keeping the show on the air is the next step. Please everyone e-mail or snail mail CBS and let them know you are watching. Go to some of the many Jericho sites for info on fan clubs starting up and a Jericho convention in Kansas in September.

I am more upset that this show was brought back. Too much soap opera in the midst of the worst attack in human history. Yes I was glad to hear that Jericho is finally coming back. I don't know how many thousand nasty e-mails CBS got besides mine, but I guess they worked. Great show. Hated is was almost gone forever. I am not a survivalist per say, but I find the lessons taught in this program are an extreme rarity in today’s
poor excuse for television programming. Self reliance, relying on your friends
and neighbors, discipline, love, courage, faith, and an underlying sense of “can
do” are all qualities I’ve picked up on in the show.

Our children could well use the lessons being taught in this program. We seem
to have (as a nation and world) reversed the course of history and instead of those who are self-reliant and motivated being revered or at least respected,
those of us who try to make the world a better place are beaten down in the media, in our government, and just generally in life.

We have become the largest group of pansies this world has ever known. We
(our nation) as a whole is undisciplined, arrogant, greedy, lazy, fat, and want to
place the blame for this on everyone and everything but ourselves. Our ancestors who lived hard, loved hard, and died hard are turning over in their graves as I type this. We should be embarrassed by the way our culture has taken a turn for the worst, and I suppose that’s the saddest part of all – that we’ve collectively reached a point where citizens of this great nation don’t even
realize how far we have fallen down the wayward path.

I think it would be terrific if more television programming was geared at teaching people how to be responsible for themselves, their actions, responsibility for their
communities, their families, and their friends.

I thought Jericho was a brilliant departure from the norm of dumbed-down, mindless "watch this, buy that, and whatever you do, don't THINK," meaningless schlock that passes for entertainment these days, and I was very pleased and happy to see that the networks still know how to make a great and intelligent show...then they cancelled it!

The networks should hire me to decide which shows to keep and which shows to axe, because I'm batting 1000...anytime I really love a show...yup, you guessed it, it gets axed! I'm infallible! Back in the late 90s, I really loved "Dark Skies," and it went the way of the dodo; I thought "Surface," was nothing short of brilliant, and bingo...dead as a doornail; I wasn't surprised when "Jericho," got cancelled...but I was overjoyed when enough fans chipped in to bring it back, even if it is only a 7 episode mini-season...well done, Jericho fans!

I tell you, though...it never fails...if I think a show is highly intelligent and entertaining television, it always bites the bullet!

I have been a fan of post nuclear holocaust shows and books since reading and seeing Pat Frank's Alas, Babylon as a child. I guess it was my way as child to cope with Cold War paranoia. Anyway, Jericho's saga of what happens in a small town when the "balloon goes up" carries on the tradition begun in the 1950s of thinking about the unthinkable. It nice to have the show back.
