New show: 'New Amsterdam' and the detective who won't die

I've heard that this show is suppose to be a rip off of a British TV show called Torchwood (Torchwood is a spinoff from Dr. Who.) but I can't see how except the two leads are immortal. Rip off or not it sounds interesting and I'm going to take a look.

Good report Gael! I saw a preview for this and it looked "eh....ok" But after reading your blog, I just might have to try to catch a few episodes!

I was a Highlander fan back in the day, and this new show had me shrugging my shoulders, but now that I've read the basic concept it's starting to appeal to me. I might check it out.

If the scripting is good I believe it could work.

I think the pilot was well written, intelligent and rather clever. It had it's flaws, as all pilots do, but the series should be great once it finds it's feet.
