I think it'll be cool to see the show to see how things progressed, and they shouldn't have to take out the school scene just because someone is going to find it offensive. We should deal with the issue, get over it and put it behind us instead of cowering in a corner everytime it happens.

Yeah how stupid to take out the school shooting scene. Are we trying to pretend school shootings dont happen or afraid someone whos family member died in a school shooting would be offended. Thats like saying "my family member died in a car crash so I will be offend if there is ever a car crash during the running of this show". You will offend someone somehow, dont be afraid, people act like their ideas of the world shouldn't be offened and if they are then its time to sue. Grow up, if you dont like it dont watch it and dont try to change the show to appeal to everyone.

Agreed.. I remember the public went nuts when Middle-Eastern actors were actually portrayed as "terrorists" on the show 24 weeks before they had time to show them as Heroes in the plot instead. You're always going to get those protesting any scene in a movie. Even the Animated Disney movie "Lion King" was protested because the Hyenas were all played by Minorities.. For God's Sake.. it's a Cartoon! Too many people want a reason to protest anything.. best thing to do is just ignore them and go with your first instinct for creative purposes.

The original scene is as follows: Basically the evil terminator shows up in class as a replacement teacher for the original one who was "out sick". We find out later that he's ...um...not exactly sick. But definitely is out of commission.

The Terminator starts the roll call and gets to Connor who's using an alias and as soon as he raises his hand, the Terminator (who all this time was cutting into his leg with some letter opener and pulls a gun out of his leg, stands up and begins shooting at John. All the other kids duck under the tables and as the Terminator is shooting at John across the rooms, John runs and jumps out of the window and onto the ground.

I don't know how they're gonna change it, whether they are going to just totally redo the entire scene or what. It is kinda crazy how they have to change things due to real life events. Remember the Spiderman trailer that was coming out right before 9/11? It had Spiderman tying up these bankrobbers helicopter in the webbing between the twin towers. After 9/11 THAT was obviously out.

I agree with all of the above, it's impossible not to offend someone. I'm sure someone out there gets offended when they see machines going back in time and killing people and some people are offended by things that involve magic or the afterlife yet there are tons of shows and movies like Harry Potter or Supernatural that are very successfull. IT just bugs the crap out of me how many people sue because they're "offended". Plus, half the time it's some random group of people who get offended because they think they see something that could be offensive to other people. I say just grow up, shut up, and get a life...

I dunno - I hope they leave it as it is - I really liked it and hope it does well. Glad to hear they're re-writing T3 with this - that was kinda dumb,.. LOVE Summer as the new helper Terminator! I give this a big thumbs up and recommend it to all!

The pilot that I saw was 73 minutes long, so I don't know how they plan to show this. Perhaps cut the school scene (which I agree would be silly) and then show it in a 90-minute slot, cutting down the show to about 61-62 minutes?

The pilot really captured the Terminator style, if you ask me. I rather enjoyed. But since its supposed to be on Fox it will probably last all of 3 episodes. It should have been sold to the SciFi network. It's filmed in Vancouver, as is so many other shows, and it would have been a great fit on SciFi.

DO NOT TAKE OUT THE SCHOOL SCENE!!! It's perfect in that it's the one place that Sarah feels she can't protect John. Perfect intro for both terminators. I mean, C'mon, ripping into your leg for a concealed weapon? Absolutely stunning! Unless you can write a "better" scene than I suggest leaving it in or else who knows what you'll have to change later if it could potentially "offend" someone. Personally I think alot of true fans will be offended if you puss out and replace that scene with a weaker but more PC one. I still have a bad taste in my mouth from T3. don't blow it from the get go.

I agree it's ridiculous to eliminate the school shooting scene. The whole point of James Cameron's original Terminator franchise was its shocking violence and its effect on ordinary people. It was gratuitous and at the same time terribly, terribly compelling at an emotional level. Candy coating this show will spell its early demise.

I saw the pilot at Comic-Con on Saturday and I find "The Chronicles of Sarah Conor" to be extremely weak, not only in concept but in execution as well For starters, the original Terminator trilogy was all about special effects, specially the last two, this TV series has none of that, so, what you have left is a soap opera and not a good one like it could have been. The direction is right out of film school with unnecessary dream sequences that will make your cringe and amateurish casting (the terminators are laughable). This series does nothing to contribute to the saga of the Terminator and it may even become its demise.

Just saw the pilot and it is fantastic. It really gets the best of the first movie's feel with a more up to date presentation. The terminator actually lends itself to the lower budget of TV series (those robots look human!) and I can see this becoming quite a good long run. The trick of having someone from the future 'build' better weapons will be useful to reduce the effectiveness of returning terminators.
