i have seen every episode in EVERY season, and i have just a couple things to say. first, this reminds me of the season Fantasia won. the runner up was equally good, which brings up this season...we have Melinda and LaKisha...both could win! second, if Sanjaya has been in the bottom the last couple of times, and the judges feel he isn't doing as well as the others, nor does he work with their ideas to improve the following week, i don't believe he truly wants to win. there were plenty of other contestants (both male/female) who were better vocalists who should have made it through. i think next season AI should let the BEST 12 through and not 6 of each sex.

I think that either Melinda and Lakisha could be succeptible to getting 'Daughtry'ed' this year. Meaning that people might just assume they are safe every week and eventually one of them might end up going home. This could leave the door open for Jordin to pull off a 'DeGarmo' and end up in the finals. As long as Chris 'Timberlake' Richardson doesn't win..then i will be happy. I think the race is between Melinda and Lakisha. However, its clear that Melinda has the polish of a professional who has been on stage often. Lakisha has the stage presence and look of a talented woman who has spent most of her singing time in a gospel venue. She is probably the better singer, but will she sell more records? Its all about the money, after all. Regardless, both women will get recording contracts and probably a couple R&B movies like Jennifer Hudson.

My scenario would be that Melinda wins, but people just assume that Lakisha and Jordin will make it through. This will cause Gina, not a favorite but still well-liked, to rise above them and gain some ground. I really believe that she's got a lot more to show than she has been. Melinda will most likely win. She rather reminds me of Katherine McPhee. Lakisha is another Fantasia. Gina is a more refined version of Nikki from season 1. No one else stands out at all this year. As a matter of fact, AI has lost it's magic and I say that as a fan (at least until now). The powers that be need to stop grabbing every aging singer they can find who has a current CD and telling the contestants to sing Diana (or Barry or whoever). The guys didn't stand a chance this week and they didn't have much of a one to begin with. I happened to catch a rerun of Season 1 the other night when there were 7 contestants left - Kelly, Nikki, Ryan, etc. and I can honestly say that it was more satisfying than watching this year live. Next season I will not watch until it gets down to the last 2 or 3 (if then). I hate to say it but I think American Idol's best days have come and gone........

While I do think Melinda and Lakisha are the best vocally, I don't think either should win. Like last season with my favorite Chris Daughtry, I think Blake desrves to win. He sings well, he sings modern. He has already gone the extra mile to really mix up the music he sings as well, along with the beat boxing its obvious he has multiple musical talents. He has the look and marketability. He personally sounds like Maroon 5 to me. I am sick of R&B and thats all we are gonna get from Lakisha or Melinda.

Every year people think that their favorite is safe whether they vote or not. Then they get voted off. Alot of people were all bent out of shape over Constantine and Mandisa (didn't care for either of them personally)and didn't understand how they were voted off as early as they were. If there is a god, and all is right and just in the universe, Melinda should win. However all the comments are correct in that Lakisha could cancel out Melinda (or vice versa) when votes come in. One of them could get voted off allowing Jordin to sneak into the final two. However, Melinda and Lakisha are so much better than everyone else in the competition that even if Melinda gets bumped due to a split vote with Lakisha, Lakisha will beat Jordin hands down. Melinda and Lakisha are ranked one and two this early for a reason... they are head and shoulders above everyone in the competition and it should come down to them with Melinda winning a close battle.

I think that the "divas" this year will do a season 3. While Jordin is certainly on her way, she can sing Pat Benetar, and, well, I'm not really sure if Lakisha or Melinda would be able to pull it off as covincingly [Although they are the most talented vocally]. Stephanie sound WAY too much like Beyonce to pull through that far, so I see her being axed first of the three. Then, without a doubt, Melinda and Lakisha are going to trip over each other. As much as I'd like to think they'd be the final two, it's not realistic. Whoever pulls through will probably become the next AI. You folks have to remember past seasons...Gina is the Diana Degarmo, the Vonzell Solomon, the Eliot Yamin. She is genuinely talented and brings a different style than any of the other front runners who are all female R&B/Gospel styled singers. Out of America's need for variety alone, Gina (or perhaps Jordin) will beat out LaKisha for the #2 spot...but Melinda will win! Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised to see a repeat of Mandisa/Latoya London in Lakisha's case. In which case, I think Blake (for variety alone) will be another underdog vying for a spot in the top 3.

Jordin: She's mature beyond her years and is possibly in the top 3 as far as TALENT goes, but she's boring and always sings stuff you'd hear on a Disney movie. Blake: SHOULD be the winner b/c he's simply the coolest and can put on the best show. He has more than a voice; he has an artistic musical sense. I like when he remixes stuff, even if the judges don't. It shows that he's not a pop idol that goes through the motions. Plus, he can dance and beatbox better than any finalist ever on Idol. Chris R: possibly worse than Sanjaya. If i wanted to hear someone that nasal, I'd watch "The Nanny". Melinda: The best voice by far. Seriously, her voice is amazing. Has the personality of a mouse. The voting is really dumb. Honestly, i've been trying to scream this out to whoever would listen. K. So heres the deal. I'm going to pick on Sanjaya, because i really dont' think he should still be here. But, he's got a "baby-face" which prolly means he's popular at school, he looks like his family has money; basically that gets you popular in school these days (trust me, i know...i'm a junior in high school)- k, so you got all Sanjaya's friends...(since he's popular...he has ALOT of friends); and they're like "OMG! Sanjaya is on American Idol...i'm deffently voting for him"..because how cool would it be if one of your frineds all of a sudden because famous?! And the whole school thinks that too...so they all vote for him, then you got his sister...she's pretty, she's probably popular too...so on top of that...all her friends. Then you got the family...and i'm going to guess he has more than 10 people in his family...and who would turn a family member down?! Then...you got the neighbors and everyone telling everyone to vote for him, when in reality...he's not that good. He's good...but he's not (like the judges would say) "American Idol good enough"...that's the deal. And it's not only Sanjaya who's getting the "attention" from people he know. EVERYONE in the complitetion is getting dumb votes just because they are "known"...i think they should just stick it to where the Judges critisize and pick a "Bottom 3" and then WE vote on which of those 3 needs to go home. I'm really upset that Aj went home...not only was he good looking =D But he was REALLY good. In the second round the Lakisha and Melinda stumble as they discover "big" voice's don't help them singing "abba", Hayleys rendition of "Dancing Queen" is a smash and she blow's away Melinda who couldn't quite make "Waterloo" believable and forgot the words. Oh for god sake...its NOT a singing competition, if America's Music public valued singing above all else Britney and Madonna wouldn't be it's two highest paid female stars. Lakisha and Melinda have the best voices, but would ANYONE buy their CDs or pack stadiums to see them perform, HONESTLY!! It's about selling CDs people. If you pick Lakisha or Melinda, your simply selecting the next Rueben to disappear into talented obscurity. Singing is the entry level qualification, but that's all it is. I have seen every show each year and think the program is entertaining. I guess it's the uniqueness each individual brings, the surprise that occurs when a better singer get sent home over a worse individual, the actual songs and the quality of it that is sung, what the judges convey to each singer, and the guest singer that appears to sing on the elimination night. They all have talent, some more that others. What gets me is a individual keeps making it through, probably because there are those who think he or she is cute...adorable, while the better singers get sent home. Like it or not Simon is right, It Is A Singing Competition. Each will get notoriety once they are off the show or the show is over. My guess is Malinda, Lakeesha, Jordan, and Blake. American Idol is about finding the next Idol folks...how many of you would honestly buy a CD put out by Melinda or pay $80's to see her perform??? I still can't believe that Sanjaya made it through to the Final 24 much less the Final 10. Sure he's cute and has a nice personality, which obviously appeals to the young girls of ages 10-15, but I used to think that AI was a singing competition and the object was to find someone that appealed to the mass-majority and would continue to shine past their AI appearance such as Kelly Clarkson and Carrie Underwood. For him to have made it through and the likes of Sundance, Sabrina Sloan and AJ Tobaldo to be voted off shows that people are making their choices based on looks/personality and not placing their focus on the actual singing talent. Granted we have had plenty of of contestants come away as talented in their own right/even more-so than the actual winners-like Clay Aiken, Elliot Yamin, Bo Bice and Chris Daughtry. I think now the American public is voting for those who may not normally have a chance to shine otherwise because they feel the stronger singers will provail without any further TV exposure. Granted, this year, Melinda, Lakisha and Jordin are in a dead-heat for the #1 spot because they have the stronger voices, but I also feel that Blake and Chris R have that sound that is more up-to-date and have adapted well to the genres that have been thrown at them so far. They take an artist's songs and try to update them a little as to grab the younger generation's attention. It will be interesting to see who actually wins this season and I'm torn between Jordin against Blake/Chris R but if the American public allows Sanjaya to win they would be doing AI am extreme injustice and any future seasons may actually suffer a drop in ratings/fewer viewers tuning in.

Melinda is by far the best of the group. She is the most polished, the best singer and will easily win this competition I believe. As for the the rest of the contestants, you have to understand that singing is only a small part of what allows them to stay in the competition. Until you get down to the last 4 anyone can go home if they don;t fit some well placed criteria. Sanjaya is only on the show still because the producers feel he will keep the younger women watching. Not because of votes by the public. That is a crock! Haley is still on the show because she will keep the men watching! She has not song well enough to still be here but as Simon quoted, "She does have great legs". Notice that her tops will get lower cut and her skirts will get shorter each week. Lakisha will not make it much further. She sings well enough but her look is not good enough to help her survive. Jordin could easily make it as the runner up as she is cute and can sing as is popluar enough. Phil is gone soon, probably next. Chris or Lakisha will follow in the next few weeks. Then it will come down to Blake, Haley, Sanjaya, Melinda, and Jordin. Finally Sanjaya and Haley will be out. So sad to see Haley go, even if she can't sing! I've been fairly digusted with AI this season, so I haven't watched it all. The only thing I can say in honesty is: If Sanjanya wins or even comes close, the AI judges have to take the blame. They knew he couldn't sing from the first and if they didn't, they shouldn't have been the judges. All he really has is his hair (?) and that stupid grin. The AI judges did not accept some other singers that were much better, but kept Sanjanya! What was their purpose behind that?

With Sanjaya out of the running, I have a feeling that Blake has picked up all the poor little pre-teen Fanjayas, and now that Phil is "VoteForTheWorst's" new target, he still doesn't have enough of a fan base to save himself compared to Jordin, Melinda, Blake and Chris. LaKisha better pull something amazing off fairly soon, otherwise she might go home before Phil or Chris R! I predict that Melinda will win it all, and Jordin will suffer a Diana DeGarmo and get voted out early because she's too young and immature, but still be successful in the industry. Blake will be in the finale with Melinda, because the guy has the "it" factor. He's a one man show. He's got sex appeal, singing, beatboxing, dancing, humor...he's very modern and the perfect pop candidate for what American Idol is due to put out. Melinda is losing the "oh my gosh I can sing?!" attitude, which will no doubt bring her more fans and keep her fans loyal to her. Her CD may not do fantastically, and so she may win American Idol and will outshine Fantasia and Ruben, and even Taylor, but I don't think her sales will compare to Blake or even whatever genre Jordin decides to do. Even Chris R is going to get some sort of deal out of this...once you're in the Top 6, you get the Chris Daughtry/Jennifer Hudson complex.

My prediction are: Jordin Sparks and Blake will be in the finale both are very marketable. Melinda Dolittle doesn't need the American Idol title to get a record deal. She is a great success on her own. I do believe she will be in the top 3. I just can't see her in the finale losing to Jordin Sparks. I think between Lakisha Jones and Phil Stacey one of them will be voted off tonight. Lakisha appears to not accept what the judges are trying to offer her as it relates to improving her performances on stage. And she tends to pick songs that are not showcasing her strengths but her weaknesses. Betwen Lakisha Jones and Phil Stacey one of them will be voted off tonight, Wednesday, April 25, 2007. Chris Richardson I believe will be in the top four. He just needs to work with a vocal coach to improve his vocals but he does have a good stage presence.

Poor Sanjaya. All that talent and he blows it on country night. Lakisha is doomed I'm sorry to say. She hasn't shown enough versitility and variety to make it to the finals. Unfortunately, neither has Blake. I look to find Melinda and Jordin at the end with a slight chance for Chris. However, regardless who "wins" I see recording contracts for Chris, Blake, Jordin, Melinda, Sanjaya and Haley with Lakisha ending up on Broadway. Lot of winners here. Phil is the outside bet for a contract. The summer tour may end up being more interesting than previous ones. At least, it should be more professional given the level of professionalism currently on display every week. Just leave Chris Sligh at home. And be sure Haley has plenty of minis.

Melinda is clearly the best singer, but as we've seen from the other seasons, that doesn't always mean she'll win. Jennifer Hudson got voted off in 7th place. Taylor Hicks actually won. Sanjaya made it to 7th place. Just goes to show when you put the voting in the hands of teenagers, you'll get what you pay for. I'm looking at Lekeisha and Melinda getting knocked out the next two weeks, with a finale of Jordin and Blake. To be frank with you, there's not much of a choice between the finalist of the American Idol this year than any of the previous years either. The semi and final contestants leave a lot to be desired but since they don't have that much to offer, we can only choose from the best amongst the worse. Let's see, Doolittle has the great singing voice and not much on the physical personality side, since they have been comparing her to a comic character, I'm not even going to mention any name here, but I think, she will sell a lot of CD's. And this is all Simmon Cowell's business of making a lot of millions on TV and the media. Forget about Randy and Paula, they are just a throw in to make up a list of different personalities in the judging panel. Tell Randy to go to grammar school and increase his vocabulary from the word DOG and check it out homlse, or such poor English language he picked up from lowly verbal abusers. Paula is just a copy cat of whatever Randy's previous comments are and not have her own opinion. Simmon, oh well, no more comment. For Jordin, she is not a perfect physical personality, but better looking than Melinda and that will sell good on TV. although she doesn't have the voice of Melinda she can still sing and carry a tune. Look at Underwood, she has the American Idol personality although she, at one time forget the lyrics of her song in one of the showing of the the contest the previous years. So, Jordin is the likely choice here than Melinda. Blake, with all that tattoo in the arms and body and I don't know where else, it shows a poor taste, looking like a highschool dropout who can't make it in deans list in school. Singing, no comments either. He is not really a spectacular one. I've heard a lot of karaoke singers a lot better that him. So there goes my choices.

I wish that people would close their eyes, and imagine they're listening to a CD, instead of voting by looks or personalities. I always vote for the person whose CD I would buy. Right now, it's a coin toss. Wish they could both win.

I voted a 100 times for Blake on Tuesday night. If you want somebody to stay ,you need to vote for them. Melinda is gone , just as planned. People , were you really going to buy her cd if she was your new American Idol? I don't think so. Mandy

It is mind boggling to think that the American Idol show is a singing competition but the American people seem to be voting not on the performer's ability to sing but rather on some other unknown criteria. Is it a modelling show or purely a popularity contest??? What criteria do the American people use for voting the best singer? It is my view that the creative writers need to review how the winner should be chosen since clearly one can't rely on the American people to vote honestly and sensibly. Blake sings rubbish and Simon has voiced that remark on many occasions yet he was chosen over Melinda. The finalists should have been Melinda and Jordin. Well, I have decided not to waste my time any more by looking at that show since it is vexatious to the spirit when honest choices are not made.

The one that should have gone home last night was Blake and not Melinda. But since it's between Blake and Jordin, well she should be the next American Idol. I think that the program is about the best voice and not looks.

Honestly, I think that Melinda should DEFINITELY have stayed last night. She has more talent than the two finalists combined. But I hate Jordin, and Blake should win over the two, though he may not be that much better.

I think Melinda is great but could not see her as the next American Idol. I was so disappointed last season when Taylor Hicks won, knowing all the time, he would not succeed. He is not marketable like Kelly and Carrier and Clay. As far as marketability, Blake will probably be the best choice for AI winner. Jordan is beautiful and very talented. Too young though to do what it takes to be an American Idol-too immature. AI would have a young girl representing them. I don't believe this is what America, judges or producers of AI want. It's true- we should ask ourselves when voting- would I buy that person's CD or see their show? This would eliminate a lot of voter mistakes.

America got it right! Melinda, while a great singer, doesn't have the "it or wow" factor to be the winner. Blake is different, but I've liked Jordin from the start. She's refreshing, cute and can she sing! She has my vote!

This was the first year that I watched AI and I have caught every episode-some of which were a complete waste of time! I must say that I am furious that Melinda Dolittle will not inhabit the top two-that is a joke, she is and was the best singer of this or any season based on my research of seasons past, save for perhaps Carrie Underwood, whom I adore. I, for one, will not be tuning in for the finale-it really sucks to have invested this much time in a series to not even care about the finale. As far as I am concerned, Jordin is a child and has no business even being on the show and Blake-well beat boxing has come and gone. If I had to pick between the two, I believe Blake posessses more maturity and charisma than Jordin, and stands a better chance of having a career of this, but like I stated before, I really don't care anymore. Shame on me for thinking this show was about talent and singing ability and not a popularity contest.
