Watching people you have never heard about, who have millions of dollars dance professionaly with people who have danced all their lives is hilarious. Emmit Smith from last season did a great job of learning the steps and it teaches the "spoiled" stars of America to work hard at something.

Highlights -- and lowlights -- of "Dancing With the Stars"

I was a bit disappointed in the ladies- except for Laila Ali. If she isn't in the final two, I will be very surprised.

I figured Billy Ray wouldn't do too well.

I think having Ian and Cheryl open as the first dance was fantastic- they definitely set the tone for this season. Joey was a good surprise- it appears that all those years rocking onstage to teeny-bopper music might be paying off.

I enjoyed John's dance the most- he seemed to be enjoying it more than the rest of the contestants. Even if he doesn't make it far- his effort and attitude make him one of the better dancers and most enjoyable to watch.

Highlights -- and lowlights -- of "Dancing With the Stars"

Sheila Louise New Westminster B.C. Poor Liza Gibbons looked pertrified, she is gorgeous, but came off maniquin like last night. He can then be followed by Leeza. I agree that Shandi's comments were beyond stupid but stupid is as stupid does and I don't think she is in danger of winning a nobel prize any time soon. And given her dance quality I'm sure the other professionals are thrilled that they are nor not saddled with her. I think that the show has to be careful because last night was the worst dancing that I have ever seen on the show - by sheer number of dancers. They either need to give them 6 weeks to get up to speed or they need to be more selective. It will kill the show if people come out each week and stink. Joey, John, Appollo, Ian and Laila will all be fun to watch. The rest could pretty much go home now. I think it is harder for the women to be good at this and this is the weakest batch of gals out of any season.

Highlights -- and lowlights -- of "Dancing With the Stars"

I think it would be better if they used the traditional music as professional Ballroom dancers do. My hubby and I enjoy the dancing and music. However, I must say, if you don't like the show, think it's sanky and you're not a fan, please spare us your negative comments and simply change your television to another station you do like. As far as Shandi's comment goes, lighten up Canadian and get a grip. If people weren't so narrow and close-minded these days, they would recognize that Shandi's a jokester and was simply being playful. Very enjoyable and fun...no serious cutthroat contestants..just everyone having fun. As for those who don't like the "new" songs used for the dances...well, the last time I looked ..you dance to the beat not the song...so yes even the newer "disco " songs can be cha-chas....It's the beat not the song that makes the dance. I think it's refreshing to use "new" music that we all like and know..adds to the enjoyment.

Highlights -- and lowlights -- of "Dancing With the Stars"

I did enjoy the show and belive it or not TV can entertain with out Police chases, death, and murder. That's what it is - entertainment - not a ballroom dancing contest. Please keep that in mind. Unfortunately, I agree with Lisa in that it's more-or-less a popularity contest. However, I think the fans are for the most part pretty good in deciding who the better dancers are, with minor exceptions. "Celebrity Campaigner"? Give me a break! Also, nobody has mentioned Tom Bergeron. I think he's great! I've been watching him for at least 20 years, ever since he got his start on WBZ-TV in Boston. He was really milking the"good-ole-boy" stuff pretty good. He didn't seem to clean up all that well either. I agree Leeza looks stiff, maybe she'll loosen up a bit, I hope so since her partner, Tony, is one of the best all star dancers in America and we need to see more of him. My son is a dancer and we really get more excited over the real dancers than the alleged "C-list" celebs. I think it works with these celebs as long as there is some name recognition - these people work hard to train and learn these dances, and the show brings focus on professional dancing, which is good in my opinion. HOWEVER, I am very disappointed about the hype given Heather Mills. While I think it is great if she can be an inspiration to a child, enough is enough. I am not sure she would be a so-called "celebrity" were it not for her marriage to a well-known celebrity. I am insulted that the show is making such a big deal out of her and her leg.

Watch for Ian, Apolo, Joey, and Laila to go the distance. They seem to have the ability, the desire to train and win, and the "it" factor.

Thanks to ABC for bringing dancing into our homes in a very entertaining manner.

Highlights -- and lowlights -- of "Dancing With the Stars"

I have not missed an episode EVER! Good job.

Highlights -- and lowlights -- of "Dancing With the Stars"

I love this show. How nice to see dancing with two people actually HOLDING each other and moving sensually on the floor. That is much better than the gyrations and flopping around of the hip hop scene. But I will enjoy dancing whatever way it comes at me. You've gotta give Heather high praise for taking the challenge. More challenging is Billy Ray trying to move at all. But how fluid was the boxer Laila. She floated like a butterfly. Ian and Joey were great, but I don't think Joey did much cha-cha-ing. But he sure can move! Clyde has potential. Leeza should chuck it all and go home - so stiff - and the dress fit like a disease! I was not as impressed with Pauline P as others were. She is gawky. But I could watch thepros dance all night! It's a fun show, a no-brainer.

Highlights -- and lowlights -- of "Dancing With the Stars"

Please!! I have watched all of the DWTS shows so far, but I may stop after what I saw last night. Couldn't they get any better 'stars' than this? Billy Ray? Were those some of his "Achy, Breaky" moves incorporated into that dance? Ian Ziering is just creepy. John Ratzenberger? Who are these people? And what will they do with Heather? If she gets voted off, everyone will complain that it was discrimination because of her disability. If they keep her on, it will not be fair to any of the others. All the applause and cheers she gets is only because she is dancing with a disability. Should that get her higher scores than she deserves? Will the judges actually be as hard on her as they are on the others? She is amazingly good at dancing, and she deserves props for giving it a shot. But lets be fair, why is she competing against athletes and celebrities? Is she merely a celebrity because of her marriage to Paul McCartney? Was she a famous and well-known celebrity before they met? Unfortunately, due to her artificial limb, its an unfair competition to her and to the other dancers. So, what is the point?

Highlights -- and lowlights -- of "Dancing With the Stars"

Maybe, it was just me but I could have swore that there was a costume malfunction on one of the ladies that danced? Unfortuately, she is what she is - just a gold digger and nothing more.
Other than that I truly enjoy watching DWTS and unlike one of your other commenters I think this is the best crop of contests that I have seen so far.
My two favourites are Joey Fatone and John.

Highlights -- and lowlights -- of "Dancing With the Stars"

Am I the only one who thinks Heather Mills is only on the show to improve her image and get a better divorce settlement?

Highlights -- and lowlights -- of "Dancing With the Stars"

The cro-magnon pussitude of the Zeiring will get you every time. The contestants are not the choreographers, so why not put the blame where it should be. Billy Ray Cyrus did not choreograph his cha cha, so why was he penalized for not doing the proper cha cha. The judges have done the same thing in other years. Sometimes they really chastize the celebrity terribly for something that does not appear to be his or her doing.

Highlights -- and lowlights -- of "Dancing With the Stars"

I agree with all of the emails concerning DWTS.However, does anyone out there think that the stars are not matched very well with the Pros. The only thing that I would change is NOT to give the audience so much power....it should be the improvement in dancing....not popularity. Good dancers have been voted off & celebs with 2 left feet stayed on. Do like the Skating with the Celebrities..only give the audience 25%. Next you should do a dancing with seniors...we can still move too and it would be fun to do and to watch.

Highlights -- and lowlights -- of "Dancing With the Stars"

I'm a DWiTS-er since se.2. I view shows when I know something good is on; as in, entertaining. May I volunteer a thought - Master P or Billy Ray Cyrus? Which was more entertaining?! I haven't laughed so hard at ANYTHING on the tube since... I don't know when. Er... sorry, maybe Tucker Carlson's try. Someone's gotta go first, so let's thank them for being a good sport (and ABC for bringing them back for a 2nd week this time!). It's great entertainment and makes us smile and laugh. Our favorites of the night were Joey and John -- they seemed like they were really having fun! Although I agree with Sheila Louise that Shandi's comment about not having a Russian partner was out of line, I chalked it up to simple ignorance and figure Shandi's not long for this show, anyway. I am far more offended by Sheila L's statement that "It shows us Canadian fans how truly ignorant some Americans can be and how they can not hold their tongues." Sheila - lighten up on the American bashing, please! Ignorant people live in every country and Canada has its share, too. I've not noticed Canadians minding when "ignorant Americans" choose to spend their American dollars in Canada.
