My son is a dancer and we really get more excited over the real dancers than the alleged "C-list" celebs. I think it works with these celebs as long as there is some name recognition - these people work hard to train and learn these dances, and the show brings focus on professional dancing, which is good in my opinion. HOWEVER, I am very disappointed about the hype given Heather Mills. While I think it is great if she can be an inspiration to a child, enough is enough. I am not sure she would be a so-called "celebrity" were it not for her marriage to a well-known celebrity. I am insulted that the show is making such a big deal out of her and her leg. Watch for Ian, Apolo, Joey, and Laila to go the distance. They seem to have the ability, the desire to train and win, and the "it" factor.
